Antique Diamond Pattern Window Sash Casement Transom Cabinet Side Light 3911-14
Great old pair antique diamond pattern window sashes. 3 pieces of glass are cracked the rest is good. The both have nice heavy brass hinges attached. One is a little bent. They show some wear and age but are very solid and usable. They would need a reglazing to seal them. These great windows have potential for many different uses, transoms, casements, side lights, or even cabinet doors. Overall they are in good usable condition. Lot 3 antique vtg nickel brass casement window adjusters wonderful patina 9"
3 of some of the best quality casement window adjusters I have seen in quite some time. Retracted these are 9" from wing nut to center or the rotating knuckle. Vintage, casement window stays salvaged from the windows of a former cream production plant(see last photos) in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The plant was built during the 1890's, however, these most likely replaced the originals sometime during the middle of the previous century. Each stay is made of solid steel. And was originally brass plated. Much of the plating wore off over the years leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. The amount ... moreof plating varies from part to part(see"Group photos" to compare) If you are not familiar with this type of hardware. It keeps the window open at a specified distance from the sill. When you wish to open the window, loosen the knob by simply turning it in a counter clockwise direction. Open the window as far as you like, and once you wish to lock it in place, simply turn the knob clockwise until can't turn anymore. This will prevent wind from moving the window. At the point of salvage. The stays were painted, dirty, and rusty(see"Prior to restoration" photo) Since then, we've spent hours removing the paint, cleaning the dirt and rust from the outside of each stay, and greasing them to facilitate their movement. All stays are in great shape with no breaks. Cracks, deep scratches, or gouges. All moveable parts move smoothly. And are linked by a central screw knob. You loosen the knob to adjust the angle. And tighten it to lock the window in place(open or closed) The arms are marked PATENT. But there is no maker's name. Lot Of 8 Vintage Used Brass 10" Window Casement Adjusters With Screws
With some brass loss. A little rust, and white paint on two hinges, as shown in photos. Found in a badly torn box labeled SARGENT IRON CASEMENT ADJUSTERS OB64 10 IN. Authentic vintage shabby chic wooden casement window taken from my 1939 built home. 8 panel glass. Has nice wide sill. Measures 4 feet by 4 feet. Nicely aged wood. Brass hardware. Window opens. Or can stay locked shut. One mullion(divider slat) needs to be replaced(see photo for close up. I have an extra slat. Nice substantial piece. This auction is for an used 2- Vintage casement stay Old patent Window Limiter- Stop- lock hinges#3 There are no marking on the hings to indicate the maker. Length of the arms: one with the four hole is 8 inches long. One with two hole is 7 inches long. Size of the plate that screws into the window and casement: 4 hole one is 2-1/2" by 1-1/4" the two hole one is 2-1/8"by 3/4" There is paint. Surface rust, scratches are present to the hinges. One wing nut works just fine and the other is stiff. I worked it loss with a pair of pliers it just needs cleaned up and it will work just fine. They are made out of metal. Magnet sticks to them. They were used mostly in basements or commercial buildings windows mostly wooden frame ones. They are a heavy duty hinge. Look at the pictures closely to see the condition of the hinges.
