One side is red and the other side is a darker red-like a maroon. This is one complete pair. The shutter hardware is included but I don't have the hardware that attaches to the house. They are the mortise and tenon design and feature wooden peg joinery. These are in very good condition for their age. The frames are still tight and rigid with a little bit of weakness where the latches are on the bottom. The latch on the bottom of the left shutter is loose and will have to be strengthened. The hinges and locks are attached to the shutters but I don't have the other hinge that attaches to the house. The last photo shows the beautiful red color of the front ... moreshutters better than the photos of the actual shutter listed-I included this last photo so you can get an idea of the exact color. I have more and will combine shipping! These are well made vintage shutters that have scratches. Marks, cracks or oth er characteristics typical of an item this age. Unusual louvered and solid panel shutters. Each panel gets gradually narrower in width from the outside(solid) panel measuring approximately 8 1/2" to 6" on inside panel. One side is a stained finish. The other is flat black(faded) These open accordian style with each panel having a"lip" that fits with next panel. Lovely old hinges, two knobs and one latch set. These are stained. Dusty, dirty, scuffed, etc. Probably the original finish-not refinished. There is a crack at the bottom of one of the solid panels(see pics) I think this could be reglued and clamped. Does not seem to be affecting integrity of shutters. I was told these were removed from Salem U.C.C. Dover, Pa. during a renovation in the 1950's. They can be seen on the photo below. I could not find a date as to when the build was first constructed, but some info pointed to the mid 1800's. There are 6 pairs offered in this lot. They measure 27" wide x 93" long x 1 3/8" thick. All are in good solid condition- 3 have had about an inch cut off one side and 3 have some missing trim molding from the panels. One has a piece of sheet metal cover the top section- many have metal covers on the top to keep out moisture(these can easily be removed) Some have small edges broken or missing- paint is thick and chipping. Antique Arched White Topped Solid Wood Shutters, w/blacksmithed latched & lock
This auction is for a pair of Colonial style 19th century arched topped. Solid wood shutters with forged latches& hinges. These pieces measure 66 3/4" on one side and 63 1/2" on the other side. They are 1 1/4" thick. The shutter with the slide latch is 17 1/4"wide the other side is 17 1/2"wide. They also have hinge mounts but not the mounting posts. There are also pull rings on both shutters. The panels are mortise& tenon. They have ship-lapped mating edges. There is a slide bar latch with friction stop. The hardware appears to be hand forged.

Pair of narrow antique Victorian wood window shutters measure about 74 3/4" tall x 9 1/4" wide x 1 1/8" thick each and are in as found condition. They have mortise& tenon/ pegged construction. Movable louvers and the remnants of old blue and white paint. Shutters are weathered with some cracks, splits, chips to wood, flakey chipping paint, two corners on one shutter have chunks broken off, 4 louvers are detached from the bar that moves them, wonderful imperfections from 100+ years of use. Louvers move slightly.

Offered for your consideration is this very nice decorative mirror made from an antique window shutter. Overall size 46 x 19 inches and the mirror portion is 28 X 15 inches. The mirror is newer. Added not long ago, but the window shutter has about 100 years if not more. No metal nails found, all wood structure. Very charming for a cottage. If you are in the area, they can be picked up from one of the antique centers in Norwalk or Stamford CT. Good condition shows some age. Antique Shutters- Forged Hardware
Rare find! What I have been told is that these shutters came off of the historic King of Prussia Inn outside of Philadelphia. The inn was built in 1719. Not sure how old these shutters are- but the pic of the inn I have posted is from 1919. The inn was listed on the national register of historic places in 1975 I have no way to verify the historic information. So I do not guarantee it. However, some of the shutters do look similar to those in the historic picture. Shutters have been in storage and will need cleaned. Louvers do not move but are in great condition considering age.
