FINE PAIR OF WINDOW CORNICE GOLD & EBONIZED WOOD & PLASTER CIRCA 1890
This is the finest pair of window cornices that I have owned in many years. These highly decorative cornices are made of wood and plaster. They are painted a base coat of gold with ebony accents. I bought these to use in my home but they did not fit properly and I did not want to alter them. There was some damage to the plaster that I had repaired. Some of the repair was damaged again when I moved but it is very minor. The black and gold paint needs to be touched up where the repairs were made. The cornices are a good size. They measure 64" long. 8" high, 8" deep on the outside, and 5" deep on the inside. They will need to be wrapped and boxed seperately to ship via UPS so the shipping quote should be doubled. Antique Vintage East Lake Victorian Walnut Wood Pediment 32 3/4" X 9 3/4"
You are bidding on a Vintage Antique East Lake Victorian Wood Wooden Pediment. The piece measures 32 3/4" long and 9 3/4" tall at the tallest point. The top piece is about 2 1/2" thick and the rest of the piece is about 3/4" thick. It has an eye hook on the back for hanging that was there when I got it. It is in overall very good condition. There is some burl on the front although it looks like it might be missing on the left side as you look at it. It is really hard to tell with the dark staining. It shows age appropriate wear but I do not see any cracks. Chips or breaks. There is some crazing on the middle piece and some minor crazing on the right side. The right side looks like the burl is raised on a place about 1" across and 2" tall. This would look great hanging on your wall, above the door or on top of ... morea wonderful victorian mirror. Vintage Antique Baroque Angel Pediment Shelf wood sculpture statue church 1800's
This pediment was purchased by my friend's grandparents at an antique store called"Neumann" in Germany in either 1935 or 1936. It was purchased when they were taking his brother to entrance exams at boarding school. They purchased many items from this store. It is an original baroque angel pediment. While we don't know its exact age. We do know that it was considered an antique in 1936. A couple years later, a Germanic National Museum in Nurnberg consultant wanted to buy it from him while looking for items at the old German church he was renovating. It measures 6 3/4" tall and the shelf is 6 1/2" across the top. The shelf is green painted wood with"No. 1056" hand written on the back. The sculpted angel face could be either wood or putty, I'm not sure. Someone who knows more about this may be able ... moreto tell from my pictures. The gold painted part has some wear along the edges and the nose may have a slight flaw. If you look very closely there is some color variation. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be that way or not. It could be a chip, but it feels smooth. This package will be very carefully packed in a large box with lots of bubble wrap, mailed by Priority Mail, and will be insured. While I am by no means an expert on antique pediments, I do answer questions quickly, and can consult my friend with questions I may not have information about. Beautiful antique achitectural piece of carved wood. Nice to hang above a mirror or door. Made of solid wood. Carved"grapes? in the center of Icanthus leaves. Measures 10 1/2" wide. 3" tall and 1 1/4" thick. This piece has an old hanging wire on the back if you wish to hang it on a wall. Could hang with grapes pointing up or hanging down. Nicely carved. They are carved from Walnut with very ornate carved flowers and leaves that are carved all the way through. They both have a scalloped top and plain back. This was probably part of a settee or large chair, perhaps a chaise lounge, because it has holes where upholstery tacks were(see photos) Also, on each end there are holes for dowels(the photos show both pieces put together like an arch way(they would have to be doweled again or glued to stay this way) These beautiful pieces of wood each measure approximately 13 1/2" high x 12" across. Description This is an antique carved wood- I think it is oak- pediment. It measures 52-1/2" long by 14" high and 3" deep. It has its original beveled mirror in the center. It is in good condition- nice carvings- there is one corner- lower right where there is a piece of wood missing. I have shown that in last photo with green box around it. Mirror has some loss of silver. There is a wire on the back to hang it. Great decorative piece to hang alone or part of wall grouping or use over door or window. Email wiht questions. Beautiful wood end cap piece of a church pew bench salvaged from an old Catholic church in Laporte. Indiana. Made of solid wood with decorative embellishments and painted in a light color with a pink tinge to it. It is dirty. Chippy, gouged and rough, but really gorgeous! Would be great hung on the wall as art, use for display, put hooks on it for purses, jewelry, hats etc. Great decorator piece or for re-purposing!
