Antique Primitive Carved Wood Architectural Salvage Pediment 3 Misc. pieces
Three unique vintage architectural salvage wood pieces. All are in very good vintage condition. Will need some cleaning, I will leave that up to their new owner, I don't know enough about old wood to clean it for fear or damaging it. First there is a nice hand carved pediment that measures 18 in. across X 5 in. at the tallest place and 3/4 in. in depth. Next is a unique fan shaped piece with some carving on it, the measurements are 10 in. from point to top X 8 in. at it's widest points and 1 in. at it's deepest depth. Last is a very detail carved rosette, some chipping on 2 of the petals(see pictures) there is a hole drilled in the middle. Overall very nice pieces. Thank you for looking.

Antique Architectural Sign Pediment Carro Romano Wood Roman Chariot Advertising
Up for auction is this wonderful architectural wood sign. I recently purchased this at an estate sale in Litchfield. CT. I was told it was very old, but I really do not know the age. I looked all over the internet and could not find anything like it. I think it may be the remnants of a sign for a company that sold miniature Roman Chariot models, Carro de Guerra Romano, but I am really just venturing a guess here. Really can't figure it out. From the holes, it looks like it was mounted on something else, or was hung from above. Layers upon layers of paint, from the original old to touch ups over the years. Some wear and wood chips with age. Great carving on the image while the name is quite primitive. Measures approx. 32 1/2" w x 8" h x 2" at deepest points(on ends) Shipping insured is $19.75 across US connecting states.

Small Rustic Primitive Carved Wood Pediment Piece Tree Shaped! I brought home a truck load of items from the auction last week. It was a farm estate. And I found some fabulous primitive antiques, as well as boxes and boxes of antique and vintage hardware that I will be listing for a long long time- someone clearly was a woodworker or dabbled in furniture creation or restoration. There’s something for everyone! I have no idea what this antique carved wood pediment came off of. But I loved the fact that it looks like a pine tree in shape to me(not that that was the original intention of the piece) it's loaded with primitive charm. Measuring just 5 1/4" tall, it is 1 3/8" widest and only 1/4" thick(maybe just a smidge under) There's 1 round small mounting holes about 1" down from the top, and then there's a sliver(about ... more1/4" long and very thin) of air space at the bottom- at the seam of where the two sides of the"trunk of the tree" come together, right on top of the round ball shape that is there- that's original to the making, I don't think it's meant as a mounting hole, but you could use it as one too if you had a small enough nail. I'm showing in photos 10-12 that the bottom corner edges of the"tree trunk" as well as the bottom left of the base perimiter rim of the trunk look as if they were once part of a larger piece- broken off from that piece, the edges in those spots are not smooth. It's reallyreallyreally hard to notice, though- you have to look for it to see. There's no structural issues- it's in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The patina is dark and old- ranging from a medium brown to a dark brown on the front(and darker to almost black on the back) and I do think darker in person than the image on my screen in my photos(it's the light reflecting off of all the snow outside! Antique Carved Gilt Wood Cinnabar Red Lacquer Chinese Architecture Screen Frieze
This magnificent survivor dates from the late 1800s-early 1900s and measures a most impressive 30” tall x 67” long x 1 ¼” thick. It is entirely hand carved and joined with sophisticated mortise and tenon system. There is delicate openwork and finely carved scenic panels including Dragons. Dragon-riders, temples, phoenix birds cloud bands and tassels. The surface is stable and 95% intact with bright gold leaf and nice sheen to the red lacquer. You will note a large loss lower right as per the photos. It is sturdy and usable with expected shrinkage about the panels and some minor age splits in the thinner wood typical of its age. Antique 19c. Pediment Architectural Crown Walnut Wood Crest Salvage Cottage Chic
For auction. A 19th-century solid walnut pediment with deeply carved motif. It measures 19 1/2" across the base and about 9 1/2" wide(5 1/4" wide at center. The width is 3" across the top and 1" at the sides. This architectural salvage piece is covered with classical acanthus scrolls and a flower in the center. The wood finish does show lots of wear and there is an old repair on the leaf to the right of the flower, shown best in photo 3. There are two pegs for mounting it, both of which can be removed if desired. The back has a chip that looks like a wood knot broken off: it does not show from the front. Thanks for looking.

2 Antique Wood Pediments Furniture Pieces? Could Use For Shelf Brackets WOW- went to my favorite flea market this weekend and found some awesome treasures for you- I’ll be listing all week. So keep checking! I'm not quite sure what these two beautiful pieces came from. But I took one look, and I saw some beautiful make do shelf brackets- don't you agree? Each one is made of solid wood, and I do believe that it is oak, although the patina is so dark, check out and see what you think. They are exact matches in size and style- and if you decide to use them as shelf brackets, each would sit with the design side out as I have in photo 4. They both have a scrolly raised design on the outside that is very art nouveau to me, and they measures each 4 1/4" wide by 3/4" thick at the top/wide end, 2 1/2" by 3/4" thick at the ... moreshort end/bottom, and 5 7/8" tall. Each one weighs 1/2 lb. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with a fair amount of wear in scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings and cracks that do not move, in addition to general finish wear. Both have a hole on the long back end(the 5 7/8" side) that goes all the way through, but no hole on the top, so you would need to create one to affix to your shelf. The finish shows alligatoring from age, and the patina is dark and rich- please supersize and look at all. The decorated side, the short bottom, and the front side that follows the curve of the pieces are finished the same, while the opposite side of the decorated side, the flat back side and the 4 1/4" long top side are stained, but don't appear to be varnished. I'm showing in photos 17& 18 that there's a 1" by 1/4" chip/surface crack at the long top flat side of one of them- it's close to the screw hole that's there, and there's no movement by it at all- and I pressed pretty hard, so it is secure. I think they are two lovely old pieces, that deserve another chance at life. To a good home only. Customer satisfaction

STUNNING Antique 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Double Koi Fish WOW- went to my favorite flea market this weekend and found some awesome treasures for you- I’ll be listing all week. So keep checking! Well. If there was ever a listing where I just wanted to say nothing, and let my photos say it all, this would be the one. But I'm guessing you might want at least a little more details: so here goes. This is probably one of the most drop-dead-gorgeous antique pediment pieces I have sold. It literally stopped me in my tracks. Now, I don't know if these came off of a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece, but it has a 1" diameter hole in the center that I'm showing in photo 5, that goes all the way through, and I'm assuming that has something to do with what it once was, or how it was mounted. The piece is hand carved ... moreinto the imat of two Koi fish facing away from each other. On either end, in front of the Kois' mouths are grapes and leaves also hand carved. It weighs 6 1/4 lbs, and it is 21 1/4" long, 5 1/4" highest and 3 5/8" deepest. The back is flat, not carved, and the underside allows the piece to stand securely, upright and straight, as in my photos. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The patina is very very dark from age. I'm not 100% certain, but I THINK the wood may be oak- that's from looking at the backside, but it's dark and hard to see the grain, so please supersize and see what you think. The finish shows wear, and lots of alligatoring in certain spots, like I'm showing in photo 8. There's a couple of small nicks- on that I'm showing in photo 6- it's on a scale on the right fish and it looks newer as it's lighter. It's very shallow- at first, I thought it was just finish wear, but it's a shallow nick that measures 1/8" long. I'm showing another shallow chip that is on the underside of the piece in photo 8- on the end of the underside. It is either really old, or it may be original to the carving

This MASSIVE early to middle 1700s continental European panel measures 19” x 15” x 2” thick and is crafted from hand hewn and mortise joined European elm or chestnut with pinned corners and ancient hand wrought nails. The outer frame is dry and scraped to wood while the center has very old. Layered paint history: the background is bittersweet and the carving is chipped gold. It is sturdy and ready to display with some minor old wormholes(inactive) You will note raw end cuts of massive dovetails on the back where the panel was separated from its original setting.
