The carvings and details on this piece are absolutely fabulous! We can confidently attribute this outstanding Etagere to George W. Ware and Company. Boston, Massachusettes. The top of this wonderful Etagere is graced with a magnificent pierced carved crown adorned with massive fruits and nuts. Carved scrolls, a grape cluster, along with leaf and foliate carvings and pierced scrolled work. This glorious crown sits upon the substantial arc-shaped bonnet top which provides the perfect introduction to the large oval mirror. This large oval mirror is encased in beautiful picture-frame moulding and appears to be original. Plenty of display opportunity is found on the eight graduated scalloped display surfaces as well as on the larger center white marble top display area above the serpentine bottom drawer. The white marble top has beveled. Scalloped edging and is in excellent condition for its age. It has dainty brass handle hardware which I am not sure are original. The keyhole escutcheon are the big round medallions. The candle shelves have heavy incise carved burl front shelf supports, burl walnut trim going up the mirror and the big crest on top with a doorbell looking medallion on the top. The mirror is bevel glass, which is normally straight glass. The drawers are all hand cut dove tail. The overall size is 48 inches wide, 21 inches deep and 90 inches high overall.

Small Walnut Victorian Chest of Drawers(not a commode or washstand) It has been professionally refinished. It is 29" tall. 25.25" wide and 18" deep. One of the things that is so unique about this chest is that it is finished walnut on all four sides. It could easily be used as a side table that sat away from the wall as it is beautiful on all 4 sides as seen in the pics. Would look great by a Wingback or Sofa. It has four drawers with the bottom being the largest. It is square nail drawers with champhered bottoms, hand carved pulls. All reasonable offers considered. Hard to Find~Victorian Walnut Lingerie Chest with Working Key& Beveled Mirror Pat Date 1891 Being offered for sale is this very hard to fine Victorian Walnut Lingerie Chest with its original beveled mirror and working key. This sweet 19th century lingerie or ladies dressing chest also has the patented date on the hardware on the back of"June 23. 1891" This chest features a tall slim design perfect for about any size space and offers storage space with its two smaller drawers, bonnet cabinet and three larger drawers all with period dove-tailed ends. The original beveled mirror swivels and is attached by its original brass hardware between the carved mirror supports. The mirror does show silver loss on the right side which is common in antique mirrors and doesn't warrant replacing in my opinion. The solid brass Victorian pulls ... moreappear to have been replaced at some point in time; but compliment the piece beautifully. The key does work all the locks on the drawers but the lock on the bonnet door doesn't work, there is a small piece of the applied carving missing on the bonnet door. CIRCA 1875 SOLID WALNUT FIVE DRAWER VICTORIAN CHEST WELL BUILT WITH KEY
This is a handsome solid walnut chest from about the 1870s. It has the first manufactured machine joinery on the drawers-the round dowel- as pictured. The chest is thick. Solid walnut and has three locking drawers over two large drawers. The gold leafing was added later and is not original to the piece. The pulls(handles) are original and lovely. There are cast iron casters on the bottom. It measures 48" wide, 22 1/2" deep, and 32" high. The internal compartment dividers are all present but not all the silk covered lids- see zoom and pictures for reference. Dated circa 1865. It is a fantastically crafted high end slope this that is very strong/sturdy and has a strong but elegant look to it. With some wonderful looking and effective brass bounding especially on the corners. The box is obviously an expensive and sought after/collectable slope that comprises of 2 secret drawers that hide behind a releasable section. This section release works well and the drawers are flush. It comes with what looks like the original key and the lock and key work well. The burr wood in this slope really is fantastic and as can be seen from the pictures especially the side and the top of the slope(6th. 7th& 10th picture) looks like it is cut from the entire trunk of the burr. Has some aged markings as can be seen in the last picture(10th picture) but these give it character and are commensurate with age of course. The brass is bright but still has a slight tarnish to it. All brass bounding is firm and strong and sits flush as does the keyhole and top escutcheon. The pen tray is present. A magnificent. Up for auction is a large Victorian chest of drawers. It has a solid walnut beautiful turned spindle gallery on its top. The drawers are walnut with walnut burl veneer accents and carved embellishments on each drawer. There are a total of 6 drawers with the original ebonized and brass pulls. The top drawer is smaller than the lower drawers. The original hinged lock side lock is functional and has a key. The chest looks to retain most of its original finish. But I am no expert on this matter. The chest also retains the original ebonized side panels. The chest of drawers looks to be on its original metal reinforced casters. This piece is very well built. This is a lovely walnut box that I would imagine would have been a work box at some time. It is completely unfitted and would make a nice workbox or jewellery box. It has marquetry bands and mother of pearl decoration. The inside has been painted green. This has clearly been used a lot over the years and as you can see there are a few knocks.but overall the wood is in nice condition. Sadly there is not a key. Wonderful Victorian Walnut& Burl Lockside Chest with Desk Brass Pulls c1880's Being offered for sale is this wonderful Victorian Solid walnut& burl walnut Lock-side chest with pull out desk circa 1880's. This 19th century chest is executed in walnut with beautiful raised panels of walnut on each drawer front with what we believe the original period pulls. The pull out desk area has newer replaced felt on the writing surface with a fitted desk interior. This chest is very solid and tight and nice and clean. The side lock is intact but we do not have they key. There is a small piece of veneer loss about the size of a quarter on the bottom drawer and a small area of loss on the felt on the inside desk area. Veneered with English figured walnut, having an opening top lid which reveals a purple silk and valor lined compartmented interior; and a drop down front which reveals two purple satin lined drawers. The external of the box has an original high gloss french polished finish. Unique to this box is the original kidskin protective carrying bag.
