Purchased at an Estate Sale. I do not know much about this piece. I was told it is very old. But as I am not am antiques dealer I really don't know. Please review pictures to judge condition for yourself. I was told it is a tin zinc metal. Hollow piece.Two sided horse weathervane. Has horse hair tail. That looks to me to have been added at a later time, possibly because the original tail broke. There are some dents as shown. I noticed a crack on the front foot. Some seperation at seams as hown. Large Vintage 1920s FOLK ART Metal GIRL IN GARDEN WATERING Weathervane
Description ANTIQUE/VINTAGE GARDEN GIRL WEATHERVANE Charming vintage metal silhouette style weather vane measuring 19-1/4" long and almost 9" tall. Featuring a woman in bonnet and period clothing holding a huge watering can with long spout- stylized water pours though the head and quenches several blooming flowers. Metal appears to be either brass or copper- it has a dark patina from age. And it's hard to tell- vane is sturdy and non-pliable- cut outs are mounted into a rather crudely rolled tube base that is held together by three screws- there is a hole in the tube middle bottom for mounting on a vertical stand(no longer present) small holes are pierced in the flower heads and on top of the bonnet. I believe this is a home project, made circa 1920- condition is very good with no bends, breaks or damage other than normal patina ... moreto the metal and although it appears as if a side is missing from one flower, it was made that way- edges are all smooth from age. Just a charming large silhouette image of a woman in her garden- purchased in Ohio, I've had it hanging on the wall for years, but it could easily be mounted for display as a weather vane. This weathervane was definitely very ornate for its time. It is cast iron with an arrow at the tip and a rectangle for a stained glass insert at the other end. The glass is missing however it can be replaced. The metal tabs to hold the glass are present. Although I couldn't find a maker's mark. I believe this was made by K retzer. The weathervane is in good condition and ready to be restored. Good project for someone who is enjoys restoring vintage items. This auction is for a vintage cast aluminum. Roof mount weathervane made by the Whitehall Metal Studios. It has some waer on one side and the other side looks almost new. I don't think it was ever used outside, but it was stored where one side suffered some minor corrosion and paint loss. It is completely adjustable and it disassembles for storage(and cheaper shipping) It depicts a woman wearing a sun bonnet and a long dress, watering some flowers in front of her. Vintage Weather Vane Horse & Wagon Stagecoach with Directions Metal Antique
You are bidding on a vintage metal weathervane. It has a horse and wagon/stagecoach at the top and the directions in the middle. It is made of metal and is a weathered black/gray color. The top piece measures 21" long and 8" high. One side of the horse has a broken tip. As shown in one of the photos. The bottom section measures about 22" tall, with the directional about 13" across. The tip of the bottom section is a little bent, but I didn't want to risk bending it back. The top still fits on fine, but just at a slight angle. This is a good, guaranteed vintage, weather vane.

The big round piece on top is aluminum, the base is galvanized steel, but the small piece in the center of the top is plastic. It has some slight bending/dings here and there. But it's generally in nice shape to be older and used. I'm using the postage calculator on this. And sometimes it charges too much for postage. Most likely heavy aluminum; as there is no sign of brownish rust anywhere except on the tip of the vertical support rod that goes up insidethe boat and vane.From tip of arrow to end, 18 inches. Ffon peak of roof to top of boat mast, about 21 1/2. Directional arms about 13 1/2 maximum. There are three screws, all original. All three turn so that you can make needed North and roof pitch adjustments. The boat says SPRITE and the Sail has a big 6 and 341 engraved in it. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! You don't need a weathervane to take advantage of this primitive beauty- it would be just as happy. And look just as good hanging on your wall! What I have is a vintage weathervane arrow- it's made of a white metal that a magnet does not stick to, except the pole that comes down from the center- I do believe that it may be brass, as it certainly has the patina- see my photos and if you think so too. The arrow, on either end, has a hammered metal design, and the piece has ... morea very shabby, chippy black finish that is more worn that still on. It measures 31" long at the arrow, and 7 1/2" at the center- top to bottom of pole. The pole alone is 5" long and about 1/4" diameter. It weighs 1 lb, so it's light for its size. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition, in addition to the finish wear, it is dirty from living outdoors, and cobwebby from being in the barn for so long- it could use a good cleaning, I have not cleaned it in any way. Primitive Vintage Cast Metal Prancing Horse Weathervane Shabby Black Finish I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! Here's a wonderful older vintage cast metal weathervane in the image of a pancing horse! It's made from a metal that a magnet does not stick to- spelter. I'm guessing, as it appears to be silver in color. The pieces has a hammered metal look on the arrow. You can see lots of peeks of the metal as the old black finish is shabby, chippy and worn- especially on the horse, where you can see more metal than paint. This is the top to a weathervane- it would have attached ... moreonto a pole at one point in time, with a directional underneath- I do not have those, so what you see is what you get. That being said, as it is, it could made for some very cool wall art if mounted on a wall- the possibilities are limited to your imagination. Measuring 33" long, it is 15 3/4" tall from the bottom of the(pole insert) to the top of the horse's ears. The hole at the base where it would mount is 7/8" measuring on the inside walls, with an interior(pole) hole of about 3/8. It weighs 3 3/4 lbs. and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. Aside from the wear to the finish, no issues at all. It's reallyreallyreally barn fresh dirty and cob-webby and needs a good cleaning- I have not cleaned in any way. Another fabulous farm find! Large Vintage old galvanized metal or zinc cupola roof. This is a very neat architectural piece from the early 20th or earlier century. It came out of an old barn in Nevada City. California. It has the original paint which has worn a bit. Actually gives it a neat shabby Chic look. Has a neat angled seam to a point on four sides. Great to make a top for your vintage garden house or shed or Bar B Que. the hard roof structure is done. Measures about 16" high at point from base. Just a tad over 36" square on the outside. A tad over 30" on the inside square. The inside metal is bent slightly as seen in pic. Could be bent out if desired. A unique old roof cupola. Shipped in USA UPS.
