ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL BARN ROOF CUPOLA
Up for bid. Is as the title states, one of three absolutely stunning antique architectural barn roof tin and wrought iron cupolas. Recently found in Western MD. but originally came from a Mennonite barn built in Waynesboro, PA. around the early to mid 1800's. The largest cupola, seen in the center is the first one we will sell, however, the winning bidder will have to option of purchasing the other two at the end of this auction. This cupola, unlike the other two, stands close to 10' high x around 3-1/2 to 4' in diameter. You'll notice there are a few holes in the tin, but structurally it all appears to be at a place where it could easily be restored. Being skilled in the restoration of these pieces, I would do it myself, if I only had the time, and would be happy to do the restoration for the winning bidder upon a successful ... moresale, if they are interested. The base of this piece looks to be about 30" square and although we don't have the vent houses that these cupolas originally sat on, a base could still be built for each one. The third picture shows how high this one stands, and if you look closely, you'll notice that guy standing there next to the cupola is holding the weathervane that came off of the top of it, which we will include with this cupola only. We don't have the copper ligh tening rod cable. The finial and inverted cone portions of the cupolas do have some white glass insulators still wired on. The weathervane as seen. Has a rear area made up of rusty tin and not what was once probably a piece of stained glass. All 3 of the cupolas are easy to handle and were transported to my farm by me and the guy in the picture on my pickup truck. Due to size, we would appreciate the winning bidder picking these up here in Fawn Grove. There is no major chips on any of these, just nicks or small eraser size chips. No bb damage or cracks. I'm selling these as a starter collection. A nice vintage"medium" size barn cupola from a barn roof in rural Syracuse. Nebraska. Measures 46 1/2" square and about 12 foot tall. Is attached and stands on four 4x4 wood lumbers. Some rusted out spots near crown, underneith, could be primed and stopped. About 10 bullet holes in total. The weathervane is present and removeable. Cast iron& copper weathervane. The animal from the fin of the weathervane is missing. But another may be attached. I supplied the two vintage blue glass balls. ANTIQUE c.1900 CAST IRON and COPPER WEATHER VANE ARROW 28 1/2" LENGTH Great old cast iron weather vane directional arrow. Figural arrow has a center double loop where it can be placed on a lightening rod or pole. The opposing end of the arrow is thick copper and was made so an animal or figure could be mounted to it. The cast iron arrow and copper rod are riveted together in the center. This appears to be all original and is all very old but solid and free of cracks or damage. Some typical pitting in the cast iron as shown. The overall length is 28 1/2" With the arrow portion measuring about 16 inches long and the copper rod portion measuring about 12 1/2 inches long. Antique Weathervane Rooster 1940's Texas Cast Metal Art Country House or Barn Search I have an authentic metal rooster weathervane for sell. It is complete and it is ready for mounting. The weathervane was mounted on the roof of a neighbor's house in the early 1940's. I suspect it is much older than this. But I can only declare for certain that it is this old, because I remember it as a child. My parent's purchased the house at a later time and when they passed away the weathervane came into my possession. It measures approx. 35 1/2" tall and it is 27" wide measuring across the arrow. There is a round piece of metal beneath this. That they must have inserted into a small hole and then the weathervane had screws, that fastened the weathervane to the roof of the house. There is paint wear from being outside so many ... moreyears. There is some rust on the bottom round disk. But it has not harmed the metal and the wethervane just needs to be cleaned and painted or you can enjoy displaying it in his natural, weathered state. I have kept it inside my home for at least fifteen years as a display piece. The antique globe in the first phoograph is not part of this auction. It is time to let someone else enjoy this wonderful. Antique American Folk Art Tin Car Weather Vane Sedan 3 D ESTATE BARN FIND! Estate find in California. This is a great medium size folk art weather vane. Rare three dimensional car! No roosters or horses here, this is a nice antique car formed out of tin and mounted on a vertical pole with direction cross members. The cross members have the compass directions also cut from tin. I'm not sure of the model car but it has a long sleek body. Possibly a sedan of sorts, tin spoke wheels a formed headlights and a double ball hood ornament. There is a stud in the base of the car for mounting on the compass pole. Good antique condition with original green-grey patina. Has some tin peeling on the base of the car and the front below the grill. This is due to being out in the weather for years before being stored away in a barn. With a fan at one end and a prop at the other, the entire thing is made of wood with the exception of the fan, its made of tin. The workmanship on the prop is amazing. Entire length is 20-1/4 inches. Still has remnent of original paint on wood. Prop measures 8 inches across. In the center of the wood is the original nail that affixed this piece to the remainder of the body. Antique 1860's 1870's J.H. Weston Lightning Rod Glass Insulator Farm Barn
Here we have for sale a hard to find style of lightning rod insulator. As you can see this one is used and abused but it's still a surviver. It is embossed just above the mounting ring J.H. WESTON CIN. O. The embossed is pretty darn good for this style which is usually quite weak. Color is a blue-aqua. As for damage there's a few flakes around the tie wire openings and a nice no glass missing bruise on the base rim. I imagine there was one too many blows driving the nail home and the base paid the price. The original cast iron mounting collar has one ear broke off. The collar is stuck tight on the glass from 140 years of rusting. Despite the damage, this piece displays darn good. Antique Victorian Era Iron Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Barn
Here we have for sale a very nice victorian era iron lightning rod. Lightning rod is made of twisted iron with brass fittings. Rod is 41" long with a nice big 10" brass bayonet. Rod has the bottom clamp. Bottom female fitting is stamped St. Louis L.R.Co. St. Louis. Mo. Stand is the standard style and measuers 24" tall. It is the insulated style with 2 white porcelain double collar style insulators. No damage to these. Real nice looking old lightning rod indeed. If the shipping seems high, it's the new balloon charge the P.O. likes to add. They say it has to do with the space it takes up on the air plane. sounds like b/s to me. 2 Antique Barn Cupola's
I will be splitting these up after today if not sold. Here are 2 small Antique Hog Barn Cupola's. No bullet Holes in these. They do have some rusted through spots but not bad. One of the lighting rod globes has a hail stone hole. These are both 100% authentic. The hogs are missing from the weather vains. These measure 80" tall to the top of the lighting rod. The rods are copper. The Galvanized Cupola's show the petina that is normal for there age. These both have some handyman work that needs to be done to them. Antique Vintage Horse Weather Vane Folk Art Original Paint Barn Lightning Rod
Lovely piece of folk art. This vintage weather vane is painted brown, with black mane and eye and harness with rose on one side. There is a jagged hole right on the center of the rose on the harness where this was probably hit with a shot of some kind. There are no other dents or cracks. 11 inches wide by 9-1/2 inches high. I am not sure what type of metal this is made of. But it is non-magnetic. Perhaps old zinc? There are a couple of very small scuffs on the paint where the metal underneath looks like a dull gray. The metal is hollow and not too heavy. The horse weighs 6.9 oz. Two of the hooves have holes in the back where this was attached to the rest of the weathervane. Welcome. Up for sale is an Antique 10 Sided Lightning Rod Ball made by D& S Dodd and Struthers. Removed from a barn in Maine last fall. Measures approx. 5 1/4" in H. by 3 5/8" in Dia. Has a 3/4" opening. Some small chips on ends. Without end caps. These chips would be covered by the caps. You can find the caps on Ebay. Thanks.

Lot Three 3 highly polished ANTIQUE COPPER LIGHTNING RODS OLD VINTAGE BARN VGC
Three straight rods with matching straight iron stands. They were polished and lacquered some years ago and are very shiny bright copper color. Approximately 65-67 inches tall(you can get the height to match by adjusting the tips) One has a brass point/tip. Another has a brass sleeve around the middle.
