2-Wooden Bowls Vintage but Painted Watermelon in 1994 1-Munising 1-3 Footed Wood
The smaller bowl is a Munising. It is about 6 3/4" by 7 3/4" outside top. The larger 3 footed bowl has some paint chipped on the inside and some varnish worn off. It measures about 9 1/4" by 9 3/4" outside top. It is 2 3/4" high. That one is unmarked. They were both painted in 1994. I will answer any questions the best I can. Thankyou:

2 Vintage Wood Wooden Bowls 1 3 Footed Signed Munising 1 Unknown Maker
Collectibles-BLU I'll start this by saying I'm not a collector of this type of item. I will do my best to describe these bowls. But please feel free to ask questions should I overlook mentioning something that is important to you. This auction includes both wooden bowls pictured. The larger size wooden bowl is signed Munising on its backside. It measures approx 13 3/4" x 13 1/8" and stands approx 4 1/8" tall. This is a 3 footed bowl. When you look to the left side edge of the bowl in my picture you can see an area approx 1/2" x 1/4" in size that wood has chipped off this rim area. This are some tiny white specks in the interior- possibly old paint. I was able to remove a couple with my fingernail. I will leave the rest of the clean up to the new owner of this bowl. The second bowl(right side of picture) measures ... moreapprox 11 1/4" x 10 1/4" and stands approx 3" in height. This bowl is not signed by the maker. The wood of the 2 bowls look to me to be the same type of wood. I wonder if it's a Munising bowl. Just unsigned. Being I can not definitely identify the maker of this second bowl, I thought I would just sell the 2 bowls together since the woods do match. Beautiful hand made primitive bowl from MUNISING. Made of maple in the town of Munising in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Bowls were created there between 1911 and 1955. This one is about 9" in diameter and is about 2 inches deep. It has three red painted round feet. Has various scrapes and marks commensurate with age. No cracks. Rustic farmhouse-style wooden bowl by Munising, measuring approximately 10” wide by 11” wide ... moreby about 2” deep. I don’t know if it was used for chopping, butter or salad, but it’s too small to be a dough bowl. Shows signs of having been well-loved and purposeful for many years, but has no cracks or chips. It’s sturdy and intact. Shows an antique-like patina, a LOT of scratch marks, a little pitting, and some variegation of the color on the inside. I took a few similar(same angle/side) photos with the flash both on and off, to give a better idea as to color. I found this in a thrift store, so I don’t know what has been in it, and I have not cleaned it because I don’t wish to alter the patina that took so many years to acquire. It doesn’t smell like smoke(and we smoke nothing here) It just smells like wood to me, no surprise there. Munising Woodenware was in business from 1911 to 1955, so this bowl is at LEAST 57 years old, but based on comparisons to other bowls I’ve seen listed, it’s probably much older than 57. No way to tell for sure, I suppose(unless maybe if one’s an expert on these things, which I am not) I took MANY photos but this listing allows only 12. You are bidding on three very neat antique Munising primitive wooden bowls that were found at an estate sale. These beautiful old bowls are all stamped Munising on the bottom and all of them have entirely different designs to them. You get a plain one with no finish at all. A pretty hand painted floral one with a light finish, and a wood burned fall scene with acorns and fall leaves and a medium finish. Heavy piece- 2 3/4 lbs. This wooden dough bowl has a beautiful deep ginger colored patina. The outside is in great condition. This bowl has been in my family for many years and is used as a fresh fruit bowl. My mother used it as a bowl for proofing yeast bread. Very functional size as well as attractive for salad or fruit. There is some staining in the bottom of the bowl. But it is in good condition with out any crack or other damage. The bowl looks better than the photos as the stain is not a distraction.

This is a lot of 3 vintage wooden bowls. These look like Munising to me but none of them are marked. They are all maple and ovoid in shape. Primitive condition. Two with hand painted fruits, and one with just remnants of painting. These are all large bowls, the one with no paint left is a large 13½ x 12½ and is 5" tall with round ball feet. The one with fruit clustered and a red stripe is the same size but not footed and 4" tall. The one with fruits all over is 11x10x3. Nice for fall or display. Pretty nice lot, no chips or cracks. This listing is for three(3) Vintage. Munising Wood Dough or Salad Bowls, including one large serving bowl and two smaller bowls. The bottom of the large bowl signed Munising. The bowls are slightly oblong. They have a medium brown maple finish. The serving bowl measures 11 1/2"by 11" and 3" high- The two smaller bowls measure 7" by 6 1/2" and 1 3/8" high. With some slight variation in measurement between the two. Combined the set weighs 2 lbs 1.5 oz. All three bowls have a fantastic even finish. There are some light marks from use and storage. But none that are notable without close inspection. One of the two small bowls has a small factory split in the wood, as seen in the photos. This is a burned stamp MUNISING wooden bowl. Most likely from 1940's through 1950's. The bowl does have three round ball feet painted red. The bowl itself is about 13" 12" out of round. 5" from tabletop to top rim of bowl and about 3 1/2 inch depth of bowl. There is some nicks and wear as well as a small crack.

Charming farmhouse-style wooden Munising bowl with handle. Leather strap, three stubby legs, and plum design. This is the only one I’ve seen with a plum. And I’ve searched for it from time to time for over a year, and have not yet found a match, so this design is definitely rare. I don't use the term"rare" lightly or casually, as it annoys me to see it so overused on this site. The bowl is almost round. Measuring approximately 8.5” wide by 8.125” wide by about 1-3/4” deep. The handle is 6” long. I am not the original owner. So I don’t know what has been in it, if anything. It seems as if it was used for display purposes. If at all. Munising Woodenware was in business from 1911 to 1955. So this bowl is at LEAST 59 years old. I took photos with the flash both on and off, to give a better idea as to hues/ color. CONDITION: It's ... morein amazingly fabulous condition for its age. Though not perfect. Please read on and see all photos to avoid any misunderstandings. It’s has most of its original shine, and the only stand-out scratch is on the middle of the handle. The picture of the plum in its center is in almost perfect shape, you can see the water droplet image clearly. There’s some scuffing on the feet and a few other signs of gentle handling.
