Up for auction is a vintage wooden bowl made by Woodcroftery(marked on bottom) This bowl comes from the estate of an elderly couple. I don't know the history or how old it is. I believe the fruit design is hand painted. It has 3 round wooden feet. It appears that this bowl has been used and shows some signs of that. utensil marks and scratches to the wood. The smaller bowl is a Munising. It is about 6 3/4" by 7 3/4" outside top. The larger 3 footed bowl has some paint chipped on the inside and some varnish worn off. It is in great shape with the exception of some scuffing to the varnish on the handle as you can see in the pictures. If you want a better primitive look you could do some additional scuffing. VINTAGE MUNISING WOODEN BOWL, OVAL, FOOTED, GREAT CONDITION, BEAUTIFUL PATINA
This vintage Munising Wooden Bowl was produced at sometime between 1911 and 1955. The exact year of manufacture however is unknown. The bowl itself is made of Tiger Wood Maple and is oval(12 x 14) in shape with Strawberries painted on the inside of the bowl and Cherries adorning the exterior. There are also Cherry Blossoms both on the interior and exterior of the bowl and along the top edge of the rim. This bowl sits on three(3) round pegs and is in great condition for it's age. The patina is beautiful and shows that this piece has been around for a long time.

Collectibles-BLU I'll start this by saying I'm not a collector of this type of item. I will do my best to describe these bowls. But please feel free to ask questions should I overlook mentioning something that is important to you. This auction includes both wooden bowls pictured. The larger size wooden bowl is signed Munising on its backside. It measures approx 13 3/4" x 13 1/8" and stands approx 4 1/8" tall. This is a 3 footed bowl. When you look to the left side edge of the bowl in my picture you can see an area approx 1/2" x 1/4" in size that wood has chipped off this rim area. This are some tiny white specks in the interior- possibly old paint. I was able to remove a couple with my fingernail. I will leave the rest of the clean up to the new owner of this bowl. The second bowl(right side of picture) measures ... moreapprox 11 1/4" x 10 1/4" and stands approx 3" in height. This bowl is not signed by the maker. The wood of the 2 bowls look to me to be the same type of wood. I wonder if it's a Munising bowl. Just unsigned. Being I can not definitely identify the maker of this second bowl, I thought I would just sell the 2 bowls together since the woods do match. Vintage Munising Wooden Footed Oval Bowl With Handle
This is a beautiful rich brown vintage Munising oval bowl with a 6 inch handle and 3 feet. The bowl measures 9" x 8.25" The handle has a hole near the end which holds the leather hanger. The bowl stands approximately 2-1/4" high. Not including the handle which raises slightly higher. At some point the handle had been repaired in the area of one of the two screws which holds it in place. Please check the photos for any imperfections which had been acquired through the years. Vintage Wooden Bowl Set Hand Painted Tri-Footed
Very nice vintage wooden bowl set hand painted. The two larger bowls have 3 rounded feet and are also painted on the underside. The salad forks are also hand painted. The 4 small bowls are not painted and I am not sure if they are part of this set. But I purchased it all together and am selling it the same way. There is some age and wear to the larger bowls with some staining. I did not try to remove any of the stains or darker coloration. The larger bowl measures 13" in diameter and is 4" tall; the smaller bowl measures 11" in diameter and is 3 1/2 inches tall; the 4 small salad bowls measure 6" in diameter and 1 1/2" tall; and the forks are 11 3/4" long and 10" long. There is some paint loss and bleaching on the forks. I have not seen wooden bowls with this design or theme. A very collectible lot!

Munising vintage footed long handled wooden bowl
This is a vintage Munising footed. Long handled solid wooden bowl in good condition. The handle still retains the leather strap(in excellent condition) for hanging. If desired. The arched Munising mark on the bottom does not contain the R mark, so I believe this one is an earlier piece. It is unusual as it is also inscribed with a name. Grace, and a number 120LD above the Munising mark. When I researched old company catalogs it appears that this number is the production or item number. You will see some of these products from Munising painted with designs. And I did read where artists were not allowed to initial or sign their artwork however it was noted that some artists did try to conceal their names or initials within the artwork itself. The article did not mention any regulations on signing unpainted wooded wares. This bowl has a wonderful ... morepatina to it- there is some slight scuffing due to age and you can see some wear on the feet. There are some marks inside the bowl. With some being from the wood itself and some being from use, but we think it is, overall, in very good shape. It is about nine inches wide and is about 2 ½ inches tall. I don’t know if it was used for chopping, butter or salad, but it’s too small to be a dough bowl. Shows signs of having been well-loved and purposeful for many years, but has no cracks or chips. It’s sturdy and intact. Shows an antique-like patina, a LOT of scratch marks, a little pitting, and some ... morevariegation of the color on the inside. I took a few similar(same angle/side) photos with the flash both on and off, to give a better idea as to color. I found this in a thrift store, so I don’t know what has been in it, and I have not cleaned it because I don’t wish to alter the patina that took so many years to acquire. It doesn’t smell like smoke(and we smoke nothing here) It just smells like wood to me, no surprise there. Munising Woodenware was in business from 1911 to 1955, so this bowl is at LEAST 57 years old, but based on comparisons to other bowls I’ve seen listed, it’s probably much older than 57. No way to tell for sure, I suppose(unless maybe if one’s an expert on these things, which I am not) I took MANY photos but this listing allows only 12. This is in quite good condition other than a small spot on the one side and on edge to the finish. No cracks. The bowl measures 8" across one way and 8.5" across the other. The leather tie which goes through the holes on the end of the 6"6.5" long handle is gone as is typical but a leather shoe/boot lace would be a great replacement if you wanted to hang this. Vintage Munising maple wooden 3 footed dough bowl or fruit bowl. Made in Munising. Michigan in the late 1930's or early 1940's. Due to the manner in which wood ages, the bowl is oval in shape. It measures approximately 11 3/8 inches long and 10 3/4 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches high. The three round feet are a darker color than the bowl. It is marked"Munising" on the bottom. Shiny varnished finish over all. Very nice gently used vintage condition, it does not appear to be have been used much at all. There are a five spots of white paint on the exterior, a few light surface scratches on the interior and a 1/8 by 1/16 inch chip on the outside edge of the rim. Cool old Retro Vintage 3 Footed Wooden Bowl by Rio Grande - Large Primitave
Up For Sale/Auction is this cool old 3 footed retro wooden bowl by Rio Grande. This bowl is nice and solid with no chips or cracks. The finish on it however is far from perfect. There are scratches and discolorations and some sticky residue on the outside. The feet are also pretty scratched up. It's large measuring about 12 ½ X 5. This would look neat displayed as is or fun to sand down and refinish or paint. Take a look and let me know if you have any questions! The interior of the bowl has some lightening to the wood; the exterior has much shine. Small round foot. First class for 8 ounces.
