Black Forest carved wood pedestal music box bowl red rose and thorns early 1900s A wonderful circa earlier 1900's piece.It has some issues and I've priced it accordingly. First of all the music box does not work.Looks to be the original but I've looked at it and would think that it was beyond repair. However I'm hoping that someone can replace it. The other issue is that the carved rose has a bit of damage to the outside edge(see pictures) It's still a very pretty piece that displays well. The bowl measures 11" by 8 3/4" across its widest points; from the base(not including the four feet) to the top edge measures 3 1/2" The wood has a lovely patina and the carving is nicely done. Vintage mid century aged Pedestal Compote Bowl. This is a highly unusual design due to having a footed base or pedestal style shape and complete with a lid w/ knob. You wont find another like it online- probably because it was Hand crafted by a man named Eldor Sommer in North Dakota(according to the makers original label on bottom) This design is much more unusual and interesting than wooden bowls mass produced by the common manufacturers. It is hand crafted& made from turning wood. You can see the light circling marks from turning wood process. It is made from Black Walnut tree wood. In a light to medium brown color with golden highlights here and there. very lovely shine to it with a golden look. measures 5.25" tall without lid and you can add an inch or inch and half with lid on. the bowl itself with pedestal included is 3" ... moretall and 9.75" wide. very large size. You could easily drop a pie pan down into this and it is deep enough to cover it safely and keep the bugs out at the next garden party or picnic. You can use it for candies. Buts, ect. very versatile size and looks great simply displayed with other turned wood collections of fine pieces, its highly unusual shape will make it a focal point in any collection. Vintage Footed Wood Wooden Munising Pedestal Bowl w/ Plum Handle Leather Strap
Charming farmhouse-style wooden Munising bowl with handle. Leather strap, three stubby legs, and plum design. This is the only one I’ve seen with a plum, and I’ve searched and searched, so this design could be“rare. It’s definitely hard to find! The bowl is almost round. Measuring approximately 8.5” wide by 8.125” wide by about 1-3/4” deep. The handle is 6” long. I found this in a thrift store. So I don’t know what has been in it, if anything. It seems as if it was used for display purposes if at all. Munising Woodenware was in business from 1911 to 1955. So this bowl is at LEAST 57 years old. I took photos with the flash both on and off, to give a better idea as to hues/ color. It’s in fabulous condition for its age. Though not perfect. It’s has most of its original shine, and the only stand-out scratch is on the middle of the handle. Beautiful Folk Art Wood Lathed & Hand Carved Decorated Pedestal Bowl -US
Folk Art wood lathed and hand carved and decorated wood pedestal bowl(one piece) Rich buttery wood tone. Bowl was lathed and then hand carved and decorated with a lovely black band that surrounds both bowl and pedestal base. Band painted or stained in black and inlayed with natural wood shavings which were dyed in colors of red and green for the leaves. Vines and flowers. Wheat heads in natural wood tone. Hand carved trim to bowl and base. Dark wood stain in theses areas. A beautifully unique work of art. Unsigned by maker. This item has been used and has a few signs of normal wear. Small amount of chipping in black on base band(see photos) Inlay intact. No missing or loose pieces. Bottom of base was lathed slightly uneven therefore has the most minor amount of wobbling. Estate Antique Treen Wood Carved Pedestal Bowl Box Circa 1910
Beautiful Treen Bowl made in the late 1800;s to early 1900's. I estimate this piece to be from 1910. These were made by the menfolk by hand carving and on a lathe. The lid fits perfectly and has a small knob on the top. It is rich in colors and is well crafted and scaled. This jar is made up of two different types of wood. Nice detail on the knob and stem. Very clean and in good condition. The box measures 3 3/4" high by 3" wide. Please see my other listings as I am selling my mothers and now some of my own collectibles thank you. Antique Munising Wood Wooden Pedestal Bowl. Orig Oiled, Out of Round Large 13-1/8" x 13-7/8" MADE IN USA This is a beautiful example of a quality Munising turned bowl. Not as common is the attached turned pedestal. The factory operated in Munising. Michigan from 1911 to 1955. Large. Measures 13-1/8" x 13-7/8" x little over 4-3/4" high. No cracks or gouges. Outer surface has scuffs and some roughness where the oiled finish has been scuffed off. I have not attempted any cleaning or re-oiling of this bowl. Inside of bowl shows very little sign of usage- no stains. Light marring. Needs some oil and some love. Pedestal measures 6-1/2" diameter. Up for bid we have this Nice Wood Carved Pedestal Fruit Bowl made in Honduras is carved on the bottom. It measures 8 inches tall.11 1/2 inches across the top of the bowl and 2 inches deep.
