The smaller bowl is a Munising. It is about 6 3/4" by 7 3/4" outside top. The larger 3 footed bowl has some paint chipped on the inside and some varnish worn off. It is in great shape with the exception of some scuffing to the varnish on the handle as you can see in the pictures. If you want a better primitive look you could do some additional scuffing. VINTAGE MUNISING WOODEN BOWL, OVAL, FOOTED, GREAT CONDITION, BEAUTIFUL PATINA
This vintage Munising Wooden Bowl was produced at sometime between 1911 and 1955. The exact year of manufacture however is unknown. The bowl itself is made of Tiger Wood Maple and is oval(12 x 14) in shape with Strawberries painted on the inside of the bowl and Cherries adorning the exterior. There are also Cherry Blossoms both on the interior and exterior of the bowl and along the top edge of the rim. This bowl sits on three(3) round pegs and is in great condition for it's age. The patina is beautiful and shows that this piece has been around for a long time.

Collectibles-BLU I'll start this by saying I'm not a collector of this type of item. I will do my best to describe these bowls. But please feel free to ask questions should I overlook mentioning something that is important to you. This auction includes both wooden bowls pictured. The larger size wooden bowl is signed Munising on its backside. It measures approx 13 3/4" x 13 1/8" and stands approx 4 1/8" tall. This is a 3 footed bowl. When you look to the left side edge of the bowl in my picture you can see an area approx 1/2" x 1/4" in size that wood has chipped off this rim area. This are some tiny white specks in the interior- possibly old paint. I was able to remove a couple with my fingernail. I will leave the rest of the clean up to the new owner of this bowl. Here is a vintage Munising wooden bowl with a nice golden finish in great shape. It has three feet attached to the bottom that show a little bit of wear from use over many years. But the bowl portion is in very nice shape. There is a little bit of orange/red staining, pictured, that may have come from some kind of juice or oil in contact, but that doesn't detract from the attractiveness of this nice antique item. Genuine Vintage Munising Wooden Bowl Set. Large footed bowl. 11" across. Has hand painted fighting roosters on it. Smaller bowls are about 6 1/2" across. All say Munising on the bottom. In great condition, no cracks or chips. They do have some minor marks and some minor scratches. The painted parts are very nice. Also a fork and spoon, they show more wear. Vintage Munising Wooden Footed Oval Bowl With Handle
This is a beautiful rich brown vintage Munising oval bowl with a 6 inch handle and 3 feet. The bowl measures 9" x 8.25" The handle has a hole near the end which holds the leather hanger. The bowl stands approximately 2-1/4" high. Not including the handle which raises slightly higher. At some point the handle had been repaired in the area of one of the two screws which holds it in place. Please check the photos for any imperfections which had been acquired through the years. Munising vintage footed long handled wooden bowl
This is a vintage Munising footed. Long handled solid wooden bowl in good condition. The handle still retains the leather strap(in excellent condition) for hanging. If desired. The arched Munising mark on the bottom does not contain the R mark, so I believe this one is an earlier piece. It is unusual as it is also inscribed with a name. Grace, and a number 120LD above the Munising mark. When I researched old company catalogs it appears that this number is the production or item number. You will see some of these products from Munising painted with designs. And I did read where artists were not allowed to initial or sign their artwork however it was noted that some artists did try to conceal their names or initials within the artwork itself. The article did not mention any regulations on signing unpainted wooded wares. This bowl has a wonderful ... morepatina to it- there is some slight scuffing due to age and you can see some wear on the feet. There are some marks inside the bowl. With some being from the wood itself and some being from use, but we think it is, overall, in very good shape. It is about nine inches wide and is about 2 ½ inches tall. Beautiful large RARE Munising Wooden Fruit Bowl. Slightly oval shape measuring 4 ½” high x 13 ¼” wide x 12 ½” marked incised"Munising" on bottom of bowl. The exterior of the bowl is wound with multi-colored pieces of twine with individually formed grape clusters and grape leaves. The feet of the bowl are also wrapped with twine. This very unique Munising bowl is in fantastic age appropriate condition with great patina. Munising bowls hail from their namesake town. Nestled on the South Bay of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Workers at Munising Woodenware Company, in business from 1911 to 1955, machine lathed each vessel out of hardwood, usually maple, from the forests nearby. In& Dated Antiques For your consideration is this lot of two antique Munising bowls. These bowls are both in very good condition. With only some minor signs of use, including some cut marks on the footed bowl and some dings on the bottom of the larger salad bowl. These are both clearly marked Munising by a burned in mark on the bottom of each piece. The larger bowl is an 11" oblong salad bowl. The smaller of the two, is a 9" footed oblong bowl with handle. The handle still retains it's leather loop for hanging. The larger bowl is 2 3/4" deep(table to rim) and the smaller measures 2 1/2" from table to rim. Vintage Munising maple wood wooden bowl footed dough bowl fruit bowl 11" marked
Vintage Munising maple wooden 3 footed dough bowl or fruit bowl. Made in Munising. Michigan in the late 1930's or early 1940's. Due to the manner in which wood ages, the bowl is oval in shape. It measures approximately 11 3/8 inches long and 10 3/4 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches high. The three round feet are a darker color than the bowl. It is marked"Munising" on the bottom. Shiny varnished finish over all. Very nice gently used vintage condition, it does not appear to be have been used much at all. There are a five spots of white paint on the exterior, a few light surface scratches on the interior and a 1/8 by 1/16 inch chip on the outside edge of the rim. Vintage Footed Wood Wooden Munising Pedestal Bowl w/ Plum Handle Leather Strap
Charming farmhouse-style wooden Munising bowl with handle. Leather strap, three stubby legs, and plum design. This is the only one I’ve seen with a plum, and I’ve searched and searched, so this design could be“rare. It’s definitely hard to find! The bowl is almost round. Measuring approximately 8.5” wide by 8.125” wide by about 1-3/4” deep. The handle is 6” long. I found this in a thrift store. So I don’t know what has been in it, if anything. It seems as if it was used for display purposes if at all. Munising Woodenware was in business from 1911 to 1955. So this bowl is at LEAST 57 years old. I took photos with the flash both on and off, to give a better idea as to hues/ color. It’s in fabulous condition for its age. Though not perfect. It’s has most of its original shine, and the only stand-out scratch is on the middle of the handle. The ... morepicture of the plum in its center is in almost perfect shape, you can see the water droplet image clearly. There’s some scuffing on the feet and a few other signs of gentle handling. LOT of 3 Vintage Primitive Wood Bowls Unmarked Munising HP Footed Large Maple
This is a lot of 3 vintage wooden bowls. These look like Munising to me but none of them are marked. They are all maple and ovoid in shape. Primitive condition. Two with hand painted fruits, and one with just remnants of painting. These are all large bowls, the one with no paint left is a large 13½ x 12½ and is 5" tall with round ball feet. The one with fruit clustered and a red stripe is the same size but not footed and 4" tall. The one with fruits all over is 11x10x3. Nice for fall or display. Pretty nice lot, no chips or cracks.
