It is in great shape with the exception of some scuffing to the varnish on the handle as you can see in the pictures. If you want a better primitive look you could do some additional scuffing. Lovely vintage large Munising dough bowl. It looks hardrock maple to me. And has handpainted strawberries, flowers and leaves around inside of bowl. Measures 13"x13.5, x 4" It obviously was used, but considering the age of the piece, very good condition! There is a knife cut on rim. Which ads to its character. I have had this bowl for longer than I can remember.

Large Vintage Munising 2nd Wooden Dough Bowl- Primitive Pre-owned vintage out of round Munising 2nd wooden dough bowl in very used condition with years of scrapes/wear/utensil marks/grooves. Heavy piece- 2 3/4 lbs. This wooden dough bowl has a beautiful deep ginger colored patina. The outside is in great condition. Marked very faintly on bottom: Munising 2nd(see pics) The inside bottom half has a lot of severe wear/grooves(no splintering) from use which has actually has worn away the wood creating a sort of character filled uniform indentation area on the inside bottom third telling the story of its years of use(see pics) Normal small splits near the upper rim(see pics) I do not know if this bowl is good to use for dough anymore, great to display items in like balls of yarn or antique croquet balls! This bowl is hand-painted and outside is treated with what I am assuming to be polyurethane the inside is raw(not oiled or treated) with some watermarks which should easily clean up with steel wool. Munising Nut or dough bowl Measures 8 1/4" across at the top. It has an 8" long handle and 3 feet on the bottom. It tilts forward. It has a reddish color finish but is not glazed or sealed. Four Vintage And Antique Wooden Bowls- Dough Bowl, Munising and Mort N. Marton
I purchased these bowls a while back. The lady I got them from said that they had come out of an house up north. The dough is the largest at 14.5 x 13.5. The next bowl is marked Munising and is 11x 10. The next bowl is 10x 9.25. The last one is 8.75 x 8. I do not know the exact age on these. I think that the Munising and Mort are possibly mid-century. But not sure. Please view all pics for details. The bowls are very rustic. The dough bowl has cracks and the Munising bowl has a partially drilled hole on one side-does not go all the way through. The other unmarked bowl had been broken and glued back. The Mort bowl looks like tag says it is from Canadian birch. This bowl has some finish loss inside. This is in quite good condition other than a small spot on the one side and on edge to the finish. No cracks. The bowl measures 8" across one way and 8.5" across the other. The leather tie which goes through the holes on the end of the 6"6.5" long handle is gone as is typical but a leather shoe/boot lace would be a great replacement if you wanted to hang this. This is a wonderful antique primitive Munising wooden dough/ salad/ fruit bowl. It was hand turned on a lathe and crafted from birds eye burled maple wood. It is slightly out of round measuring about 10" x 9 1/4" x on one side 1 7/8" high and on the other going up to 2 1/4" high. It is in very good vintage condition with a nice patina. On the bottom there three black scorch marks where it looks like someone might have set it down on a hot burner. It is not deep and the signed name on the bottom- Munising- is still clearly visible. It is a really nice decorative bowl what would go well with any collection. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Munising bowls hail from their namesake town. Nestled on the South Bay of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Vintage Munising maple wooden 3 footed dough bowl or fruit bowl. Made in Munising. Michigan in the late 1930's or early 1940's. Due to the manner in which wood ages, the bowl is oval in shape. It measures approximately 11 3/8 inches long and 10 3/4 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches high. The three round feet are a darker color than the bowl. It is marked"Munising" on the bottom. Shiny varnished finish over all. Very nice gently used vintage condition, it does not appear to be have been used much at all. There are a five spots of white paint on the exterior, a few light surface scratches on the interior and a 1/8 by 1/16 inch chip on the outside edge of the rim. Vintage Munising 2nd Wooden Bread Dough And Chopping Bowl
Munising Woodware Company was productive from 1911 until 1955. It was located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula in the town of Munising. Local maple trees were typically used and the bowls were often sold in department stores. Based on the marking. This bowl was probable made in the late 1930's or early 1940's. This bowl was issued a factory 2nd because of the defect in the wood, on the outside of the bowl. See photo. This defect is approximately 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. This defect was probably from a knot in the raw wood prior to turning. This bowl is 4 1/2 inches tall. With a 14 1/4 inch inside diameter and a thickness of 1/2 inch at the top rim. The chopper which came with the bowl has a wooden handle. The chopper is 6 inches long and 5 inches tall. Feel free to ask any questions.

Antique Vintage Signed Marked Munising Wood Wooden Dough Bowl with Spoon Paddle
This listing is for an antique or vintage Munising wood bowl with paddle/spoon. This bowl is slightly out of round. Not sure if it was intentionally made that way or if this is from age and use. Either way. It's stated and photographed for your consideration. That being said there are a few measurements to consider. At the shortest diameter distance the bowl measures 10 1/4" in diameter. At the longest diameter distance the bowl measures 11" in diameter. Again. This is from being slightly out of round. The bowl has some heavy scratching from use. Mostly located at the center interior. You can see this in the photos. I know that some people like to sand these out and return them to their original smooth surface. That's being left up to the winning bidder to determine and address. Some rough edges around the diameter of the ... morelip. The bottom and exterior is very clean with almost no scratching. Please note that the bowl has a silky feel to it from being seasoned and treated with food grade oil. The spoon or paddle measures 9 1/4" in length X 5" wide at the widest point. It too has wear and scratching from use with some minor surface splitting near the end. Nothing that goes through though. Overall a great candidate for restoration or to leave it as is to add to your primitive home decor. Should you have any questions or concerns.
