Offered for sale is a Fabulous 19th Century Wooden Bowl. Circa 1860 This wonderful Northeast US primitive is origi nal with fabulous age patina. The maple bowl has been turned from a huge tree. The bowl measures 17" in diameter. The bowl thickness is approximately 3/4" It stands 4-1/4" in height. The bowl is typically slightly ovid in shape. There are two very slight age cracks noted. They do not affect the function or soundness of the bowl and are typical of a bowl of this age which has been subject to 100+ years of damp and dry conditions. Unique decorative wooden bowl that is signed and numbered. This piece appears to have been created from a single piece of wood. The sides of the bowl are the bark from the tree. The surface around the bowl has been etched. Then painted black and then in multiple colors. It reminds me of the sun. The round part of the bowl appears to have been airbrushed in multiple colors. As best I can make out. The signature on the back is"D. Crane" but I can't find any additional information about the artist. It measures 10.5 inches wide by 12 inches long. For your consideration: Great Large Primitive Wooden Bowl with Incised Maple Leaves: This bowl is slightly out of round and more oval shaped. But is in excellent vintage condition with no cracks or chips, only stains from age, use, and wear. I believe it to be hand-carved. There are initials on the base, which are a bit difficult to read. Some darker staining and wear to the inside, and a number of cut marks, but overall, excellent vintage condition. This bowl has a lovely golden wood tone, and the hand-painted decorative leaves are done in shades of red, yellow, tan and gold. This is a nice large bowl. This is a wonderful antique primitive Munising wooden dough/ salad/ fruit bowl. It was hand turned on a lathe and crafted from birds eye burled maple wood. It is slightly out of round measuring about 10" x 9 1/4" x on one side 1 7/8" high and on the other going up to 2 1/4" high. It is in very good vintage condition with a nice patina. On the bottom there three black scorch marks where it looks like someone might have set it down on a hot burner. It is not deep and the signed name on the bottom- Munising- is still clearly visible. This old bowl is large and bold. It is likely a dough bowl from the thiries or forties but could be a later designer piece. It is 12" wide at the top and just over 3 1/2" tall. It looks like maple to be but could be an ecentric like myrtle. It is unsigned and will be a great addition to any collection. Vintage Munising maple wood wooden bowl footed dough bowl fruit bowl 11" marked
Vintage Munising maple wooden 3 footed dough bowl or fruit bowl. Made in Munising. Michigan in the late 1930's or early 1940's. Due to the manner in which wood ages, the bowl is oval in shape. It measures approximately 11 3/8 inches long and 10 3/4 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches high. The three round feet are a darker color than the bowl. It is marked"Munising" on the bottom. Shiny varnished finish over all. Very nice gently used vintage condition, it does not appear to be have been used much at all. There are a five spots of white paint on the exterior, a few light surface scratches on the interior and a 1/8 by 1/16 inch chip on the outside edge of the rim. I am very pleased to offer this little ANTIQUE American Treenware bowl. Found at an Ohio estate. Near the Pennsylvania Border. It is made of a rich untouched maple. With nice turnings, but not over done. Clean lines, NICE. It is 3 7/8" tall. Munising Wooden 2 Tier BOWL Finial Handle Nut server Dish You are buying this vintage Munising. Slightly oval/ round, 2-Tier, wooden pedestal serving bowls. The tiers measure 7” and 8 ¾” along the long side and is 9” high. There are no chips or cracks and the piece has general wear for its age. The Munising is burned into the bottom of the bottom bowl. I believe they are all maple wood but I'm not positive. The 2 biggest ones have cracks but could possibly be glued and fixed. Great 19th c. Antique Primitive Wooden Maple Kitchen Bowl, Out of Round NR
Antique primitive wooden bowl in original dry patina. It appears to be maple. Some may call it a dough bowl. But these have obviously been used as a chopping, cutting, mixing bowl over the years. Hand-turned with a flat bottom. It is not perfectly round. Bowl is approx. 11 1/4" x 10 1/4" when measuring across the center around the bowl. The thickness of the edges are approx. 1/2" to 5/8" and approx. 3" high but varies slightly. These have definitely been well used. Not sure of age but would guess 19th and possibly 18th century. There is a crack in the bottom that can be seen in pics. Still. A great display piece! In most cases. I ship next day(except weekends) Sometimes, same day.
