Antique 19th century trunk made by J.H. McNamara's Trunk Works Nos. 138. 140 and 142 Monroe St. Fort Dearborn Bld. Chicago. It measures 40 1/2" across, 24 1/2" high, 16" deep and weighs 55 lbs. The trunk is all original. The wood and leather has a lovely patina. The inside has two levels of cloth covered trays, and a box that slides from left to right. These trays all have leather straps. The label is on the inside cover, also the original paper tag written with the owners name W.E.H, 251 North Grove St. East Orange, N.J. There is a brass plaque on the top with the maker's name. There are no cracks inside or outside the trunk. There is a small gouge on the front right side of the trunk. The inside fabric on the side shows some wear. Up for bid is a rare original SMALLER antique trunk/chest. It has leather over wood with metal strapping and sitting on four metal roller/wheels. This chest has the original lock.but…no key. It also has the original paper lining with a Victorian style picture on the interior lid. There is also one area where it looks like someone wrote their initials in pencil. The exterior leather is intricately decorated with artwork depicting geometrical designs. The leather is fastened with numerous studs or tacks. Untitled Document Purchased at a recent estate sale in NC full of fine antiques. This beautiful ornate trunk was a nice rare find. It has many exquisite and elaborate details. Please see images. It measures 23" tall. 30" wide and 17.5" deep. A collector's item! Looks great for its age though it does have some wear. The only parts I notice missing on the exterior are one of the leather handles and it did not come with a key. There is a name written on the right side. See photos to judge condition. It has its caster wheels. Overall it is very nice and I believe everything is original. The inside seems to be original and in very good shape for the age. Up for bid is a rare 19th century leather over wood carrying case made by Laub Brother s. Laub Brothers was trunk makers located at 422 West Jefferson St. in Louisville.Ky. from 1860's till about 1910. This piece is an attic find from old Louisville area that I've had for several years,and have not found another like it in my search. It is as found. I never tried to clean it. The exterior is rough,but it is tight. The interior and hardware are in very good condition as seen in pictures. It measures 13"Lx5"Hx5"d.

This is an outstanding antique from 1835- dated newspaper as lining. This leather covered wood trunk or chest measures 25" by 12" by 10" high. As mentioned it is lined in very old newspaper- all dated around 1835. The overall condition is good for its age: the two iron handles are still in tact. Most of the brass studs are present, the front latch is non functional, the hinges with square nails are fine. It is a very special piece of 19th century history. Found this unusual. Beautiful and untouched Leather, Iron and Wooden Victorian Era Dome Style Steamer Trunk at a local sale. A huge trunk measuring 36" wide. 30" tall and 23" deep. Decorated with hand applied tacked leather all around, ornate iron and wood, this trunk was made for folks who traveled far and for many weeks or months at a time. A TRIPLE LOCK system is evident on the front, designed to keep their worldly possessions safe. On each side of the trunk there are remnants of labels that provide a visual history of the famous places that this trunk traveled to. There is a label for a hotel in Paris. A label for a baggage cabin on a Cunard Line steam ship, and most interesting.a label for the St. James Hotel in Jacksonville Florida. Antique American Leather over Wood Society Trunk - Late 1800s
Offered- An outstanding Leather over Wood Society Trunk. The trunk is in extremely good condition- with just a couple of minor flaws. The trunk measures 18 inches across- 10 inches wide- and stands 11 1/2 inches tall. Trunks of this nature were widely used during the Victorian era- to hold Society Hats and other paraphernalia associated with that particular Society. This trunk is marked: photo#10) G.O. Gordon Lodi. Wis. Robert Macoy(Cross- 3- Period) I do not know which Society the Cross and 3 represent. The interior of the trunk is Cedar Wood. There is a form to hold the Society Hat- and a drop down inner lid to hold other accessories. There are a couple of cracks in the Cedar lining. There is a label on the inner lid that reads: The M. C. Lilly Company Manufacturers of Military and Society Goods Columbus. Ohio There is also a silver colored ... moreplaque over the lock with the above manufacture noted. The leather on this trunk is a beautiful Amber/Medium Brown color- with a darker brown outline. The stitching is perfect and all of the rivets are 100% intact. There are very heavy duty Black Metal Hinges with a patent date of 1866. The leather is in very good condition- as the photos reflect- with scuffing and/or scraping commensurate with age. The silver colored lock is fully intact however I do not have the key. The lock is marked: Pat. April 1877(Over 2 Stars) The leather handle is perfect. As is the case with trunks of this nature- the straps that connect to the buckles on the front are used and very fragile. They are intact but do have breaks. I have taped the backs for stability. Also- the left front leather loop that holds the top leather strap in place is missing- please see Photo#9. This is a very nice item- I have a couple of these trunks in my personal collection and they are great for storage- perfect for fragile Christmas Decoration. I purchased this Antique Trunk from an Estate Sale years ago. I have owned many trunks over the years, but this one has always been my favorite. The Truck Measures about 29 Inches Long. 17.75 inches Wide and 17.50 inches Tall. This Camel Back Trunk is from the 1800s. But I am not sure of the actual date it was made but its old. The Trunk has some very nice metal tinwork on it with a great pattern. I think this truck has a masculine feel. And would go great in a Cabin, or rustic type home. I personally have used it to hold blankets in over the years. This Truck is old and used. But it believe the damage and wear only adds to its look. I think the patina on it is perfect, and it just has the right amount of rust and wear. It’s made out of Wood, Tin and has Leather on it. What a great look and style on this antique trunk chest. Has beautiful grain and patina on the wood strips and has nice leather and metal accents all over. Perfect size. This will make a great little storage table stand, measures 32 inches long by 21 inches deep by 12 and a half inches high. In good used condition, the leather strap does have a break, see pictures and it can use a good all over polish.

HI, I have for sale a early 1900's maybe a late 1800's Antique Humpback Trunk. Located in Weston. Wi. by Wausau, WI. 54476. The trunk is in good condition for the age. It has wheels on the bottom, has to outside latches that work fine and a center locking latch I have no key, but not all that hard to finds a key. The outside is made of wood and metal with some leather overlay and wood slates, the bottom is solid, there is no self for the inside and overall in good condition. ANTIQUE EARLY 1800's LEATHER COVERED BRASS STUDDED WOOD BOX VINTAGE 19TH C. TRUNK A rare original. Early 1800's, small trunk or document box that is covered in leather and has brass studs. It has a lock in the front and a brass handle on the top. The inside of this trunk is what I love about it! There is the original paper lining with a printed man, in a top hat, riding a horse(of the period, see photo) The lid is held in place by the leather construction and there were never any hinges. This wonderful old trunk measures approximately 13" across x 6 1/2" wide x 5" tall(not including the brass handle) I have taken close up photos to show the condition. There is wear to the leather with one side missing most of it(see photo) The rest is crackled and may have a bit missing, here and there. It is missing some of the brass ... morestuds and the paper on the inside does show wear and tear. This old trunk is over 200 years old but is still mostly together! It is 18 inches wide, 13 inches tall and 10 1/2 inches deep. One leather side handle is missing the metal piece that goes on the end(see picture) and someone has replaced 2 screws on one of the back hinges.
