This is one of the most unusual and attractive antique steamer trunks I have found. Unusual design reinforced with multiple wood slats and copper detailing throughout. I acquired this particular trunk about 15 years ago and used it for awhile as an accent table with a glass top in my design studio. Although I am on the constant hunt for vintage trunks, this is one of the most unusual I have ever found and have held on to it for years awaiting another purpose. All wood construction with a multitude of wood slat reinforcements and copper straping with riveted joints throughout. Much of the original hardware. Including hinges, is intact but the front lock/latch ... moreand one side handle is missing. The interior is clean with remanants of an old paper lining that has been pealed away to reveal that the wood used in the making of the trunk was most likely recycled from antique wood crating. With one area showing an original stamp for the"American rubber company" I was surprised to see this and since this trunk is at least 100 years old, I think it is such an unusual and charming detail The trunk has probably had a coat of protective finish added to the exterior at some point and the wood has developed an aged and rich patina. There is a burn mark(see photo) on the left side. Indicating at some point in its history this trunk even endured some sort of fire, but is clean and undamaged otherwise. This trunk looks fantastic as is- I used it with a custom cut(very inexpensive) glass top for use as a coffee table. Either way. An absolutely stunning and historical addition to your design scheme! Up for Auction is an ANTIQUE Vintage Steamer Black Metal Lined Wood TRUNK. It has Nice Metal corners and has a thin lining of metal over wood. Inside it is lined also. There is an insert that has makes a shelf. The bottom of the insert has detatched from the sides. See pictures. The wood is lined with blue and white paper. It has a lock by the Eagle Lock Company which was in business in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There is no key and the middle of the handle is missing. The trunk has the intials PTM on it. The metal is scatched. Warped and dinged from use and it is very old. The lining inside also has marks and is tearing from age. It also has rivots on the sides. This is a phenomenal piece. In great condition for its age. It is made of metal and wood. Has one handle in tact, and hinges work properly. I am leaving it in"found" condition so the buyer can choose to leave it as is for the character or to restore as you wish. This piece is very heavy and solid. Measures 21 deep, 24 tall, 34 wide. The inside has trays and compartments, that I am leaving as is shown in the photos. This trunk ships via greyhound where you will pick up at the closest station to you. Antique Vintage wood blanket chest trunk from 1800s
This beautiful solid pine trunk is from the late 1800's. It has the original hardware. Due to its age and material it has a little of the lower molding missing on one side(see photo 2) This is part of its charm. There are two small drawers inside the trunk. I found a nail. As pictured, in the drawer and similar ones in the chest itself showing its age. There is a crack that runs across P art the top of the trunk but doesn't affect its use. Lid closes and o pens. It is sturdy enough to be carried by the handles and a solid piece. No water damage. It would be a great coffee table or blanket chest. The patina is nice and its a beautiful piece from the past. Measures 37"x18"x21" I accept returns in original condition. Buyer pays all shipping.

Up for bid is a wonderful vintage salesman sample steamertrunk. A piece of true history. The trunk was crafted by The Rose TrunkCompany of Atchinson. Kansas established 1884. The length is 16 inches. Width is 8.5 inches and 10 inches tall. The condition is what you would expect for an item over 100years old. In my opinion GREAT! Here is a true barn find. Right from a new england farm, super neat design on the front. Chest appears to have original hinges and side handles. There is paper/ travel stamps with early 1900 dates on them. I'm guessing its at least from early 1900s but possibly earlier, has metal overlay on top and on the corners with unique art design on the front. Inside is wood with paper lining. Chest is apprx. 24" long 18" wide and 16" high. A very unique chest, a good size, not too big, make a great accent piece.

This auction is for a very beautiful vintage dome top Steamer Pirate trunk. It has a very pretty pressed tin design(blue) mixed in with the oak wooden strips. It really makes a very pretty display piece It would look great in any area! It is a useable trunk. Both of the old leather side handles are attached still! The large front center hinge lock works fine but I do not have a key for this trunk. Both of the side front locks work well. There are no interior drawers. We believe it is the original brown paint that has minor scuffs and scratches. There is no rusting through. Trunk is still very sound and sturdy and all sides are straight and not excessively dented. Hinges are good and the lid opens and close tight and square as it should. It is used and has wear, surface marks, scrapes and bruises from all those many years of gentle use. the interior and natural back board and inside the lid has been restored natural. Welcome to my ebay store! this awesome piece came from an estate sale of an elderly local antiques collector. I purchase most of her dolls and doll items. This is an awesome unusual definitely unique steamer trunk most likely for a girl to keep her doll clothes in. There is an upper wood tray covered in paper that sits on an inner ledge. The inside of lid is lined with a nice royal blue paper. It definitely has a bit of that musty antique smell that says this piece is old. The Lock has the words Eagle Lock Terryville CT which definitely shows the age and quality of the piece and US made. The trunk is made from wood. With metal strapping, nice metal corner hardware and worn leather straps. The trimming is in Faux grained metal in shades of red and yellow. I haven't seen a trunk like this one online or on ebay. It has wheels on the bottom, has to outside latches that work fine and a center locking latch I have no key, but not all that hard to finds a key. The outside is made of wood and metal with some leather overlay and wood slates, the bottom is solid, there is no self for the inside and overall in good condition. Wood Chest with 2 keys Antique Vintage dovetail provenance estate

It measures 20" x 12 1/2" x 11" Note there was an emblem/plaque. Or label which was removed from the top lid. There was additional metalware removed from key insert. There are scratches on the top lid. There is leather lining the inside of the lid. There is just general wear inside. Not chips or missing wood just signs of wear. The sides show dovetail attachments. I do not know if it was handmade by an individual or from a factory. age unknown. It has a second draw with a round pull tab. Affectionately called"Babe" was born Aug. 30, 1907. She died Nov. 6, 1998. All I will be listing have been packed away since 1998. She was 4th generation Californian. Her great-grandfather was John Forster. Later known as Don Juan Forester. He was born in England in 1814 and came to California in 1833. He was an English sea captain and was Captain of the Port of San Pedro for several years. In 1837. John Forster married Ysidora Pico, sister of Pio Pico and Andres Pico. Pio Pico was the last Governor of California under Mexican Rule. Don Juan aka John Forster and Ysidora had two sons, Marcos and Juan. Marcos Forster married Guadalupe. Daughter of Don Juan Avila. One of their children was named Lucana. She was born May 17, 1877 at Las Flores, California In 1905 Lucana Forster married Will McFadden of Placentia. California. Vintage Antique Child Steamer Wood Trunk Restored
This is a child's antique steamer trunk which has been restored. The trunk measures 16 wide. 11 inche high, and 9 inches in depth. It has been restored although there are only 3 hinges, missing one, and the bottom has not been restored. Two straps on the end. There is a small decal of a little girl inside top of trunk. Vintage Wood Refrigerator Ice Chest from late 1800's... ONE OF A KIND!!!
Very interesting Antique Refrigerator Ice Chest. With directions attached to underneath of lid. no way for me to know the age of it, I am guessing 1890s. from reading the bottom of the directions. which says"Baker, Jones& Co. printers, Buffalo NY. and after extensive research I found that that company was a printing company from 1883-1913. This refrigerator ice box is one of a kind! Exterior of box is worn and appears to be original(oak? wood. Appears it was(stained) green at one point. Top and one side is no longer green. Rest of Ice chest the green is very noticeable. Weighs roughly 60-75 pounds. Approximately 40" long, 20" wide, and 24" tall. Has hole in zinc lining for drain at bottom, as seen in last pic. Metal inside I assume is lined with zinc. According to directions and research. Magnet does not stick to metal ... morelining) Directions say: Directions To Be Observed In Using Refrigerators. Always have the CESS CUP on the drip pipe. This keeps the warm air from passing through the tube. For the first week keep the Ice Chambers well filled with Ice. So that the refrigerator may become cool; renew each morning with a daily quantity. See that the servants do not allow any of the doors to be left open longer than necessary; keep all GREASE from the shelves or sides of the Refrigerator. Use soap and hot water. Never stand, for washing the Refrigerator; a little Sweet Oil occasionally used will aid in keeping the gloss of the zinc lining. You cannot expect to have a DIRTY Refrigerator and a SWEET one in the same article. CAUTION GET FULL WEIGHT ICE. GET SOLID ICE. Do not allow the Ice to remain exposed after the Ice Man has brought it; have it at once put it in the Refrigerator. Do not allow the servants to pick the Ice to pieces to get a sufficiently large piece to put in the Ice Pitcher. Can deliver for additional fee if in a reasonable proximity to 14559. For sale is a very unique. Turn of the century, one of a kind wooden chest. This piece has amazing patina and is very ornate. It has brass corners and screws evenly spaced all around. The front of this chest has very faint red lettering that reads E.C. The dimensions are 28-1/4" long by 15" wide and 14-1/2" tall.
