Vtg Antique Primitive Tennessee Made Mountain Meal Bin Chest Pine Poplar Wood
Wonderful old quirky. Primitive mountain bin was used as a storage for corn meal, is suitable to store blankets as well. Measures 36" wide,24 tall, 15" deep. Poplar top is a 15x36" single plank. Sides and back are constructed of two pine planks each, with a single pine bottom. Wear and nicks as shown. Came from an old mountain house in the Boyd's Creek Community in Sevierville(Sevier County Tennessee. Has the original hardware that is undersized for the piece, but was functional in a make do way. 1800s Pine Round Top Wood Trunk Forged Iron Handles Square Nails Primitive. We are selling an antique pine trunk/ chest in its original condition.This trunk dates to about 1870s and still in good condition.There are five large dovetail joints on all corners. The cast iron handles are in very good condition. The end board on one side is a solid 13" wide plank. The pine boards are all old growth wood. The bottom planks have a few cracks in them as the pictures show. There are normal age wear nicks and bumps and dings. The size is 34" long. 16 1/2" wide and 19 1/2" tall. The lock is gone. Two old brass chains hold the top open. There is some very old wall paper on the inside of the trunk. Shipping will be by fedex. Please look at the pictures as they are part of the description. Charming Antique Dome Pine / Oak Wood Small Trunk, c 1880, Great Brass Hinge
Charming all-wood domed small trunk circa 1880s. Has original top handle and fantastic front brass hinge. Hinge has a mark. Patent date of 1880s(I think) Great shape and design. Very useable size at 14" tall x 16" across front, 13" deep. It is utterly charming and substantial enough to hold linens or other objects. It certainly was too large for a doll trunk so might have been for a child but it's heavy and substantial so was not a plaything. Beautiful outside condition on wood which looks to be pine with oak trim. A couple of expected splits on top. Front must have had leather straps at one time but are now gone; 3 of 4 metal clips remain. I always thought I'd buy a leather belt at a thrift store and add straps but never did because it's great the way it is. Inside is unrestored and original(but cleaned by me) ... morewith no interior tray. Would look great at foot of single bed. Shipping might be less to California and will refund anything over $5.

ANTIQUE PINE BLANKET CHEST DOVETAIL MED. WOOD TONE BUN FEET, 1800-1899, AMERICA
This is an uncommon size for a blanket chest in that it is approximately the same height& depth of the most usual chests. However its width is considerably more narrow. Placed among others, its uniqueness is readily apparent. The glove box is narrow and when open, will hold up the chest's lid. The corner dovetails are all hand cut. The bun feet tops are inserted into the base of the chest, with quite wide protrusions. Parts of the chest appear to be single board. It's a nice early piece that will generate interesting looks and conversations. Weight is guestimated about 40 pounds. Dimensions are- 31-1/2"W x 22"H& 19-1/2"D. I can deliver to a local shipper. This blanket chest has been in my family for 50 years. It is an early primitive pine piece with lots of storage inside. It looks like it may have been stained red originally. Most of the color had faded. In very good condition and a real charmer. There are 3 old black burn rings on the top as seen in the last photo. The measurements are length 42"x width 18.5" x 20" height. A great size for a coffee table or end table.
