It is a wonderful upholstered antique foot stool with a pale red damask upholstery with golden edging tucked over the sides, the apron of the stool a serpentine form with subtle molding that culminates at each center with a five-petal floral motif flanked by outflowing foliage. The stool rests over four cabriole legs with simply gorgeous and very precise carving from the knee to the toe. The surface of the antique french foot stool appears to be untouched and original. With a distressed finish of gilt on gesso with painted highlights, giving the antique foot stool incredible charm and character. Recently restored antique mid 1800's Jenny Lind trunk. This trunk is beautifully adorned with brass tacks. Original leather handles present. As well as original lock. Lock does have brass adornments that could be polished if you choose. IT WAS IN REALLY BAD CONDITION, AND I WANTED TO USED IT TO STORE CLOTHES& BLANKETS IN IT, SO I CLEANED IT UP, PAINTED IT, REPLACED THE LID STAY. ORIGINALLY THERE WAS WALLPAPER INSIDE BUT IT WAS ALL RIPPED AND PEELING OFF AND COULD NOT BE SAVED. Antique Germany Cherry Wood Trunk w/Marble Top Mid 1800’s I got this beautiful small trunk while living in West Germany. It is made of beautiful Cherry Wood which is a hardwood. The color is medium wood. It is carved with beautiful arches front and sides. The back is plain. The top measures 32 ¾“ x16 7/8” and it stands 16 7/8” tall. It has one drawer which is made with dovetail joints. See pictures. The legs are ball legs. When I bought it I was told it was from 1850 to 1870. I had a marble top cut for it which measures 34” x 17” It can be used with or without the top as the top of the trunk is in fine condition also. There is a small drawer inside the trunk for valuables. I used the trunk in front of a sofa bed for storage of bedding and it was a coffee table in front of the sofa. Pick up Only Venice FL 34293. The metal banks and plates have a nice rusted surface patina; the wood is in good shape but with a complimentary aged surfaces. The canvas has faded and has been torn& patched in places. The hasp for the locking mechanism is missing, and someone added some wooden"feet" to it which can be easily detached by removing the screws. Antique Steamer Trunk Victorian Flat Top Salesman Chest mid 1800's. Red & black
Considering it's age. I would say it's in great condition! There are some signs of aging but it still has all the original pieces, including the hardware. It has been painted red and it's chipping off, revealing a gold and black chest. It's been stored and unaltered. There is some cracked wood on the llid of the trunk. It's a beautiful piece with great potential. After a good authentic refurbishment, it will be amazing! It's a true period piece and a conversation starter!
