VINTAGE Americana Brass Weather vane 2' Tall X 18" W Folk Art Aluminum
Vintage folk art Americana brass colored Weather vain 18 inches wide by 2 feet tall. The top of the weather-vane- the arrow. has a beautiful artistic Design which is a Wagonwheel followed by cutouts in the Arrow. See pictures) There is also much detail on the weather vane which includes some small Stamped stars and hammering around the base. RI am not sure exactly where this came from. Purchased at an Estate Sale. I do not know much about this piece. I was told it is very old. But as I am not am antiques dealer I really don't know. Please review pictures to judge condition for yourself. I was told it is a tin zinc metal. Hollow piece.Two sided horse weathervane. Has horse hair tail. That looks to me to have been added at a later time, possibly because the original tail broke. There are some dents as shown. I noticed a crack on the front foot. Some seperation at seams as hown. Large Vintage 1920s FOLK ART Metal GIRL IN GARDEN WATERING Weathervane
Description ANTIQUE/VINTAGE GARDEN GIRL WEATHERVANE Charming vintage metal silhouette style weather vane measuring 19-1/4" long and almost 9" tall. Featuring a woman in bonnet and period clothing holding a huge watering can with long spout- stylized water pours though the head and quenches several blooming flowers. Metal appears to be either brass or copper- it has a dark patina from age. And it's hard to tell- vane is sturdy and non-pliable- cut outs are mounted into a rather crudely rolled tube base that is held together by three screws- there is a hole in the tube middle bottom for mounting on a vertical stand(no longer present) small holes are pierced in the flower heads and on top of the bonnet. I believe this is a home project, made circa 1920- condition is very good with no bends, breaks or damage other than normal patina ... moreto the metal and although it appears as if a side is missing from one flower, it was made that way- edges are all smooth from age. Just a charming large silhouette image of a woman in her garden- purchased in Ohio, I've had it hanging on the wall for years, but it could easily be mounted for display as a weather vane. N.S.W.E copper directionals and a great iron mount that has a little rust on it like you'd expect. Deer on it's own measures 32" tall X 23 1/2" wide(Schaefer can in first pic for reference) All the pieces have a great patina on them as the pics show. Pictures 7 and 8 show both sides of the deer. Vintage Primitive Folk art Rooster Weathervane folkart
1 Vintage weathervane. I am selling this for a friend who is about 90 years old. He made this quite a few years ago. I thought he said the rooster and arrow was made with either copper or brass. The width across for the direction letters is about 19" and the letters are about 3 1/2" tall. The arrow measures about 22 1/2" across and about 4" tall. The Rooster measures about 8 1/4" tall and about 8" wide. The whole unit measures about 27 1/2" tall. It was painted black white and red. There is a paint crack etc one one side of the arrow. I will be taking this apart further to fit in the box. That is. The pipe fittings. Please keep in mind that this is used and was on his roof until about a year ago when it was taken off the roof. Vintage Folk Art Weathervane (50's-60's), Dog Motif
The folks we bought our 1925 house from moved here in the late 1950's. And according to neighbors they promptly took down the original weathervane and put this one up. I don't know much about it other than it is in pretty decent shape for its age, has a dog motif, and a pretty simple folk art feel to it. I'd conservatively put the vintage on it to the late 50's, early 60's in that case.

Vintage Folk Art Whirligig Man Wooden Hand Made13x6
This is an old whirligig that came from an Iowa estate. I am not sure if it really works because the arms are not put on at an angle. There is a crack in the wood on the back under the left arm that has been mended but does not go through to the front. He is very cute. The size is 13x6. Good Luck

Rare Folk Art Full Bodied Cod Fish Weathervane Great Folk Art Paint Vintage Old Description: Wonderful Vintage Full Bodied Cod Fish Weathervane A remarkable find. We found this wonderful piece of folk art several years ago in an estate out of Massachusetts. The form as you can see is a full bodied cod fish. Complete with attached fins and punched scale patterns. The woman who we purchased the item from stated that she had found in off the coast of Mass. decades ago. Judging from the paint patterns and construction of the body. We feel the piece is circa 1940's, though several other dealers we have shown it to place it slightly earlier. A close pattern itself can be seen in some earlier weathervane catalogs, but again we feel the construction places it later. Also of note. And in agreement with the former owner, the piece has probably ... moreused at a sea-side town, the salty air corroding the surface into what now is an absolutely beautiful patina. Please take a moment to click on the images and you'll see you can produce enlargements that showcase the condition and construction. There is some areas of rust through. Notably near the tail, and also at the lower fins. All the fins are still in place but the piece is in fragile condition. There is even some metal flaking in the interior, heard when the piece is moved. We love the compliment of the rusty surface with the old paint. Mounted on a stand and displayed in both a modern or country home this would be a focal piece of art! Measures an impressive 36" x 12" x 4" Please note shipping is an estimate! The top features a sperm whale measuring 25" by 7" The N/S/E/W spokes measure 18" across. And the pole stands 18 1/2" high. Altogether, the whale measures approx. 26" tall. I have tested the weathervane with WD-40, but it does not turn. The copper has a light green patina and verdigris which adds to the antique character and overall appeal of this piece. The weathervane is in good condition for its age. But the tail section is a little rusty on top from being out in the elements. It has natural green patina on the copper. Here is an authentic vane sheet(tail) from an 8' wheel diameter Woodmanse water pumping windmill(circa 1915) These windmills were made in Freeport. Illinois. This vane came off a windmill that pumped water for a Nebraska Sandhills Ranch through the Depression and into the 1940's. This vane has character with patina and bullet holes. Antique Vintage Horse Weather Vane Folk Art Original Paint Barn Lightning Rod
Lovely piece of folk art. This vintage weather vane is painted brown, with black mane and eye and harness with rose on one side. There is a jagged hole right on the center of the rose on the harness where this was probably hit with a shot of some kind. There are no other dents or cracks. 11 inches wide by 9-1/2 inches high. I am not sure what type of metal this is made of. But it is non-magnetic. Perhaps old zinc? There are a couple of very small scuffs on the paint where the metal underneath looks like a dull gray. The metal is hollow and not too heavy. The horse weighs 6.9 oz. Two of the hooves have holes in the back where this was attached to the rest of the weathervane. Looking around ebay I'd say it's likely not an antique but it is very well built and hand-crafted from formed copper soldered together with brass tubing for the structural support elements. It has been stored indoors so it's starting to get a nice patina but has not yet developed full verdigris. All soldered joints are solid. You'll notice that one of the wheels is bent in slightly and the front leg of the horse is slightly tweaked. Both could be easily bent back to shape if you so desire. This antique work of art. Horse& sulky with rider, copper with patina/and brass/cast iron,zinc? weather vane. I was told it was made in the 1800's it was on an old barn that was built in the 1800's so it most likely was the original weather vane put there when it was built. I love this beautiful piece of Americana folk art. The horses ears are missing,it needs some minor fixes,some parts need welded,there is a crack in the base& the end piece of the base is missing but it still is usable, in all its in great shape for its age and the fact that it was in use until recently. The most important parts still exist. It measures 33" long 14" high to the top of the riders head.It is a true vintage work of art! Natural wear and imperfections just add more character! It is offered in good used condition and features two wings a long extended neck. And tale. One wing is a bit folded and could be straightened. There is a metal thin rod attached to the upper wing that went to another source. VINTAGE FOLK ART ROOF MOUNT WEATHERVANE PAINTED TEAL ROOSTER
We are pleased to offer this unique vintage weathervane. This piece is approximately 20 years old. It was roof mounted and used by the previous owners. The weathervane survived an incredibly destructive tornado which devastated the town of Pierce City. Missouri on May 4, 2003. The owners salvaged the weathervane, painted it, and displayed in their new home. They are moving to assisted living and we purchased from their auction. The weathervane features a large metal rooster standing on the arrow. The rooster is a tin type metal with dimension and it is hollow inside. The rooster has a predominant teal color with some white, gold and red accents. It has a finish coat of polyurethane. This is a beautiful"salvaged" piece with great character. It is in very good condition with the exception of the"W" having been broken during ... morethe tornado(see photo 10) The roof mount and pole are made of iron and have a rusted patina. The rooster and the directional mechanism do lift off and can be displayed without the roof mount. Including the mounting and the pole. The unit measures 58" tall. Lightning Rod weather vane arrow large old aluminum vintage folk art 25” This lightning rod arrow is in rustic condition and nicely aged from 100 plus years in the weather and would make a great wall decoration. The solid cast aluminum casting is in rustic condition with no cracks. It is over 1 1/2 pounds of aluminum. The weather vane arrow has aged well over the years. It has 2 holes in the top where an animal of some sort was fastened to the top which was removed over the years. The aluminum has great texture from its years on top of a house or barn. It is 3 18" tall and the arrow is 25" long. Vintage American Folk Art Copper Running Horse Weathervane 19th C.??
Vintage Very nice American Folk Art Copper running Horse weathervane with two copper balls. The north. East, south, west parts looks to be brass that is 18 in. long with 3 1/4 letters on them along with the brass bar stand. looks too be in great shape with no dents or cracks. Feel free to ask any Questions I will do my best to answers them. Measurements, The horse is 3/4 to 11/4 in thick. From the front foot to the tail is 25in. long. From the nose too the tail is 221/2 in. long. From the copper mounting tube to the top of the ear is12 in. tall. The copper tube the horse mounted too is 27 1/4 in long. Vintage Miniature Weather Vane Salesman Sample Made of cast aluminium It is in two pieces like a full size model. The Rooster comes off the vane. The"E" and"W" are also able to be removed. Which gives the salesman a relatively flat object to carry when not displayed. Complete it is about 6.5" tall and 4.5" wide. It has all its original paint with a little loss on the vane and back of arrow. Very Nice weather vane that could easily be mounted on a block of wood for a nice display!

Please use the photos provided to help judge the condition of the weathervane. This is a great piece to put indoors or outside in the garden. The weathervane is made of metal and has wonderful rustic paint. I believe the 5 birds perched on the plane are made of ceramic. The"S" for South on the directionals is missing. This weathervane features a man in Colonial garb holding a cane and walking behind his dog. Great patina with much of the original paint intact as pictured.
