I found this Large Cast Aluminum Horse at an estate sale. They didn't know where it came from other than it was their Parents. It looks like it was attached to a weathervane and broke off. I tried to find one like it online but I could not. It is 19 1/2 inches long by 8 1/2 inches high and weighs 1 5/8 pounds. The number stamped in the back looks like 100023. Antique Weathervane Horse. An old barn find.I believe to be the early 1900's or maybe later 1800's? I am not a weathervane expert so I am trying to present the best information I can.The entire weathervane is made of cast iron, since a magnet sticks to all pieces. This weathervane has a great finish from decades of exposure to the elements. Rain, sleet, snow, lightning, and birds. It measures 34" from the top of the horses head to the bottom of the base. The horse is 8"wide by 7"high, and the arrow is 12" wide. There is a makers mark on the bottom of the base but after a month of research, I still don't know who it belongs to. The glass is missing however it can be replaced. The metal tabs to hold the glass are present. Although I couldn't find a maker's mark. I believe this was made by K retzer. The weathervane is in good condition and ready to be restored. Good project for someone who is enjoys restoring vintage items. First let me say I don't know a single thing about this. By research and suggestions. This is a cast aluminum weather vane. We took this off the top of our garage. My father in law owned this piece and he had it for at least 30 years I'm guessing which the date on back says 1979 which would make it 33 years old. The piece is 23 in high and 17 in wide from end to end of arrow. This is in good condition. The makers marks reads(c) Eagle symbol W ite. Don't know what that means. Vintage Dutch Windmill Weathervane/Cast Base & Tin Tail & Blades
Vintage Dutch like windmill weathervane. Base is cast metal and has two holes in base to anchor to deck or whatever. Measures 15" high and is 5.25" in diameter at the base. Blades and tail are tin. Blades measure 12" in diameter and tail is 6" long. Works but needs a good mechanic to go over it to make it run smoother. Red cap on top just sits on gears. Vintage cast iron Pheasant weathervane topper in very good condition. It measures 29" long and 13" tall and the arrow is 3/4" wide. Where is sits on a pole is a1/4" opening. It weighs about 3 pounds. Not sure how old it is. The pheasant is held on with 2 screws into the arrow I do not know much about weathervanes or weathervane tops, so please look at pictures and bid accordingly. Primitive Vintage Cast Metal Prancing Horse Weathervane Shabby Black Finish I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! Here's a wonderful older vintage cast metal weathervane in the image of a pancing horse! It's made from a metal that a magnet does not stick to- spelter. I'm guessing, as it appears to be silver in color. The pieces has a hammered metal look on the arrow. You can see lots of peeks of the metal as the old black finish is shabby, chippy and worn- especially on the horse, where you can see more metal than paint. This is the top to a weathervane- it would have attached ... moreonto a pole at one point in time, with a directional underneath- I do not have those, so what you see is what you get. That being said, as it is, it could made for some very cool wall art if mounted on a wall- the possibilities are limited to your imagination. Measuring 33" long, it is 15 3/4" tall from the bottom of the(pole insert) to the top of the horse's ears. The hole at the base where it would mount is 7/8" measuring on the inside walls, with an interior(pole) hole of about 3/8. It weighs 3 3/4 lbs. and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. Aside from the wear to the finish, no issues at all. It's reallyreallyreally barn fresh dirty and cob-webby and needs a good cleaning- I have not cleaned in any way. Another fabulous farm find! You are bidding on a vintage Weather Vane directional fair condition. The N/S and/W cross member are in very good condition and locking screw turn freely. Measurement are 15 1/2" across or long and letters are 3 3/4" tall. Top swindle arrow is broken off and missing. But the feather end has a clean break and can be repaired. The rod is 21" long one amounting is in good condition but the other as seen in photo, broken off and missing. Bolt on foot work and threads in god condition. Age is unknown. It looks quite old and it looks like it may have been buried at some point. For some reason the end opposite the point is not nearly as pitted as the rest of the piece. Wind Vane Directional Letters Old Vintage Solid Cast Brass
This auction is for the two directional arms for a wind vane. They are cast in heavy brass. The two arm halves nest together in a slotted fitting. There would be a pipe running up through the center to support a movable arm and finial. I used a piece of hardware to approximate the assembly in the picture. You can use a piece of conduit or re-bar or pipe from Lowes hardware. The two pieces have the original slotted brass screws that act as securing fittings to clamp the arms in place. These are old. Probably Pre-WWII. The arms are about 2 feet across. Letters are about 3 or 4 inches tall. I can take a better measurement if needed. Feel free to ask any questions in advance. Vintage cast iron snow birds eagle with open mouth used on slate roofs
These are cast iron snow birds used in the late 1800's and early 1900's on slate roofs as snow and ice guards. It is my understanding from research that the eagles found with the partially opened mouths are the older snow birds. Each bird weights approximately 1 1/4 pound. The eagle is from wing to wing approximately 5 7/8" From the bottom of the cast iron to the top of the eagles head is approximately 5" From end to end. With the attached slider, each is approximately 8" long. Can think of many uses for these snow birds as I am sure you can. Very neat item. Postage listed is for 1 snowbird. Postage for 2 to 4 snowbirds may need to be adjusted.

VINTAGE BLACK CAST ALUMINUM AND BRASS SAILING SHIP WEATHER VANE Nice!FARM BARN
Here is a vintage cast aluminum weather vane with a sailing ship pointer on top which spins freely. The Ship and directional markers are made from thick cast aluminum. The center pole appears to be brass. Although it is quite tarnished. There is a metal mounting plate at the bottom. And under that a circular wooden base that is very weathered. Measures 28" tall and 16" wide at the widest point, Very solid and well made. The wooden base will need replacing or repairing if you plan to use it. Otherwise the metal roof mounting plate is in fine shape and will secure it to a roof for many. Many years. A really nice vintage weather vane! Thanks for checking it out.
