This is an old original blue pleated lightning rod ball. It is in very good condition. There are no cracks or breaks. There is chipping to the collar ends which is very common with these old balls. The collar ends are shown in the pics. It has a nice shiny finish to the glass and is a nice bright blue. It measures 4 1/2" across at the widest point. It will be well packed and fully insured. Lavender 4 1/2" Lightning glass ball used unknown maker
Howdy Folks, Hope all is well. Up for your auctioning pleasure or viewing is a lavender colored lightning ball. Well that's what I think it is. No metal caps and no cracks. Chips were the caps go and some discoloring on 1 end. Maybe from the glue or dope they put on it to hold the caps in place? Measures about 4 1/2" x 5" from cap to cap. I do not see any scratches but then again it is lavender in color, so it will be hard for me to tell. The ball weighs about 9 ounces so we are looking at max. to ship 1.15 pounds. Folks the ball will need to be cleaned better. All we did was to rinse it out. Water spots are free. No pictures were enhanced but some were enlarged.
