Up for sale is an antique horse form weathervane recently found in the Northern indiana area. It is found in good used condition and comes attached to part of its original post. It is sheet metal and offered in as found condition with its original finish. This piece has pegged construction as it joins the post. The only condition issue to discuss is rust to both sides. The directional post the horse rests on is missing both ends and the tail shows minor losses. It measures approximately 12" x 8 1/2" in size. Great antique/vintage cast metal eagle lightning rod weathervane. I haven't seen another one out there quite like this. This one is unique. It does show some signs of wear and usage from being out in the elements. It measures 22 3/4" long by 11 1/2" tall. The metal is about 1/16" of an inch wide. Thanks for looking!

Large Antique Copper Horse Weathervane Running Race Cast Metal Zinc Weather Vane
This is a really nice antique copper running horse weathervane with a solid cast metal( lead/zinc)head. Fine Patina is evidence of years in the weather. No idea of age. This beautiful piece was taken from a barn roof in PA. Found at a local estate. The man having the sale said as a boy his family bought a farm and this horse weather vane was on the barn. He said they lived there for 20 years and when they moved his father took it with them. The horse does not appear to have been cleaned or polished and shows the work of nature. I did wipe it down. The horse's head is made of zinc/lead I'm told and the body is hand formed from heavy copper and hot lead soldered together into this fine looking horse. The piece is 17" from top of the ear to the top of the pipe, The pipe is 33" long and weighs over 8 pounds. Nice detail in proper ... morehorse anatomy with muscles and veins showing. Head, eyes and mouth are so realistic. This piece is as good as I have seen and in marvelous condition with no cracks, dents or other distractions. Antique Vintage Cast Iron Arrow Weather Vane metal sign steampunk primitive art
This weathervane was definitely very ornate for its time. It is cast iron with an arrow at the tip and a rectangle for a stained glass insert at the other end. The glass is missing however it can be replaced. The metal tabs to hold the glass are present. Although I couldn't find a maker's mark. I believe this was made by K retzer. The weathervane is in good condition and ready to be restored. Good project for someone who is enjoys restoring vintage items. Great auction find out of Conway South Carolina. Weathervane has a great deal of aging and patina. The metal showing threw is a white metal. No damage seen as far as broken off pieces or gouging. Judging by the style of the font. The hardware and the type of metal I am putting this items age at 1920's or 30's. Over all height is 42" height of rooster is 14" length of rooster is 14"Looks like rooster was painted white with some red through the tail feathers. Most of paint on face still present. A nice vintage"medium" size barn cupola from a barn roof in rural Syracuse. Nebraska. Measures 46 1/2" square and about 12 foot tall. Is attached and stands on four 4x4 wood lumbers. Some rusted out spots near crown, underneith, could be primed and stopped. About 10 bullet holes in total. The weathervane is present and removeable. Cast iron& copper weathervane. ANTIQUE c.1900 CAST IRON and COPPER WEATHER VANE ARROW 28 1/2" LENGTH Great old cast iron weather vane directional arrow. Figural arrow has a center double loop where it can be placed on a lightening rod or pole. The opposing end of the arrow is thick copper and was made so an animal or figure could be mounted to it. The cast iron arrow and copper rod are riveted together in the center. This appears to be all original and is all very old but solid and free of cracks or damage. Some typical pitting in the cast iron as shown. The overall length is 28 1/2" With the arrow portion measuring about 16 inches long and the copper rod portion measuring about 12 1/2 inches long. This vintage(50s? metal weathervane spent most of its life mounted to the roof of an auto parts store. The mounting piece has some roof tar stuck to it. It seems in good shape. It is sturdy and the directional arrow spins around. There are some places where the metal paint has been scraped off. The length of the arrow measures 33" The car measures 15.25" in length. antique folk art pig weather vane rusted sheet metal
The sheet metal this pig is cut from is 1/16th wide so it is bendable. The pig stands 15 3/4" tall; the arrow is 19 1/2" long. The pig and arrow are not removable from the stand which measures as an oval 4 1/2" X 8" The pig rotates but would probably not do so in the wind or unless it was lubricated with oil or silcone. The stand is heavy and can tolerate rotation; it is heavy and the entire piece weighs 4 pounds. It is meant to stand on the oval as there are no screw holes or ways to mount the weather vane. The only history of this that I know is that it was part of an estate and unwanted by the heirs. It is a very pleasing. Has wonderful, rusty patina; and is a somewhat unique piece of folk art.

I have up for sale a very nice vintage original circa late 1800s to early 1900s American Folk Art Sheet Metal Cut Out Silhouette HORSE WEATHERVANE. It is Fresh off the Farm. Picked out of an old granary. It measures approx 31" long, approx 26" tall and is made of two cut out and riveted together pieces of sheet metal. The vane is fully guaranteed as being authentic. Dating from somewhere approx. 1900 give or take. It was purchased off of an old family farm here in Wisconsin, I've been trying to by it for over 20 years. Really Nicely Done. Unknown maker probably done by a local tinsmith back in the day. I think that its a fantastic looking item. Perfect for a wall décor or to have a stand made with a rod for proper display. Vintage Weather Vane Horse & Wagon Stagecoach with Directions Metal Antique
You are bidding on a vintage metal weathervane. It has a horse and wagon/stagecoach at the top and the directions in the middle. It is made of metal and is a weathered black/gray color. The top piece measures 21" long and 8" high. One side of the horse has a broken tip. As shown in one of the photos. The bottom section measures about 22" tall, with the directional about 13" across. The tip of the bottom section is a little bent, but I didn't want to risk bending it back. The top still fits on fine, but just at a slight angle. This is a good, guaranteed vintage, weather vane.

The weathervane was mounted on the roof of a neighbor's house in the early 1940's. I suspect it is much older than this. But I can only declare for certain that it is this old, because I remember it as a child. My parent's purchased the house at a later time and when they passed away the weathervane came into my possession. It measures approx. 35 1/2" tall and it is 27" wide measuring across the arrow. There is a round piece of metal beneath this. That they must have inserted into a small hole and then the weathervane had screws, that fastened the weathervane to the roof of the house. But it has not harmed the metal and the wethervane just needs to be cleaned and painted or you can enjoy displaying it in his natural, weathered state. No roosters or horses here, this is a unique cut heavy sheet metal dog standing on a primitive arrow. It has been painted a light gray color. I would probably remove the paint but will leave that you to the buyer. There is a small bracket on the bottom edge of the arrow that supports the 2.5" post that fits in the pole. Good antique condition with old painted patina and some small spots of white paint( Can be mounted on a pole or hung on a wall or displayed on a small stand. Primitive antique feather from weather vane- fluted metal Outstanding !!!!!!!!
Beautiful feather end of an arrow from a weathervane. Great patina I believe the metal is tin- but its very strong. This shows some gold leaf under the very old yellow/gold paint. Heavy solid- just wonderful. Total length including the rod is 22 1/2" Feather alone is 15 1/2" X 8 1/2" About 7" of the feather on one side is disconnected from the rod- but you can sort of snap it back in place and it holds perfectly and the void cant be seen. Check out pictures 8 and 9 showing the void and the same area intact. This was found in an old house in upstate New York- wish I found the rest of it! Super neat primitive. No disappointment here. WEATHER VANE: Antique Yacht from Newport, Gilded & Painted Metal, 26" x 33"
WEATHER VANE: Antique Yacht from Newport. Gilded& Painted Metal. 26"Tall x 33" Wide This is a great old Weather Vane Featuring a Yacht under full sail that I acquired years ago in Newport. Rhode Island, which is probably the most important yachting center on the East coast. As it stands now on its wooden base. This Vane is 26 inches tall and 33 inches long. The Yacht, arrow and supporting rod with its scroll work are of some non-ferric metal. The ball is copper as are the Burgee Pennant and Flag. The latter seem as if they are replacements. Perhaps they were changed and painted when a particular yacht was sold and the new owners wanted the identifying Pennant and Flag of this Weather Vane to reflect those of their boat. But this is just a surmise on my part. The Yacht itself was gilded. As were the point and flamboyant fletchings ... moreof the arrow and the copper ball. The arm of the arrow and the supporting rod with its scroll work were painted black. All of these surfaces show appropriate wear. There are two partially interesting things about this yacht. There is a good bit of rigging still intact made. I believe, of copper wire. I thought of trying to straighten them out, but feared I might break them. So I left them alone. And there are two small figures aft who seem to be greeting the viewer. On the whole. This Yacht Weather Vane is in pretty good condition, has a wonderful aged patina and still turns on its supporting rod. The photos give a very good idea of this Weather Vane with its Yacht under full sail. If you should have any questions. Please don't hesitate to contact me. And thanks for looking. It looks like one side was given a bit of varnish to keep the paint intact I would guess it is made out of a crude tin metal It has been riveted together and there is a hole in the center of the arrow for hanging- The center metal piece(roosters front leg) looks to have been broken off where it goes down vertically. Antique Stagecoach Sheet Metal Weathervane
Up for auction is an antique stagecoach weathervane. Hand cut out of 1/6th inch sheet metal. Reins are soldered on. Lots of detail work on the passengers, horse and driver. Coated with some kind of grey primer which has kept the weathervane from rusting except along the cut edges. The vertical shaft is pitted with age but solid. The base is almost 16" the stage and horses is 15-1/2" 9" from the drivers hat to the bottom of the base. The shaft adds 6-3/4" A great piece of Americana. Good luck in your bidding. Antique Folk Art Sheet Metal Weathervane Primitive Articulated DONKEY
This charming antique was found at an estate sale.of unknown age and origin. After some research this appears to be part of an old WEATHERVANE or perhaps possibly part of on old sign that hung in front of a shop. This is a wonderfully primitive DONKEY. His head and neck are fashioned separately and loosely bolted to the body- the holes at the base of the neck and at the mouth seem to indicate that once there were wires or string attached so that the head could be manipulated up and down- the head can still be manipulated with no trouble, and I suspect this could be re-wired. The donkey's body is made from two sheets of some sort of metal and then fixed together. See all photos to understand construction. Patina showing age and weathering. About 8" long. 7" tall.
