It measures approx 22" tall including swivel mirror. 12 1/4" wide at feet, and 9" deep at feet and has 2 small drawers at top and l larger drawer at bottom. Mirror is in fine condition. The small drawers each measure approx 5 3/8" x 4" x 2 1/2" deep. The one on the right has a smaller pull than the others but it appears to have been put on at the same time. Bottom drawer measures approx 9 3/8" x 8" x 3 3/8" deep. Bottom drawer has original lock(no key) and is lined with a silver color paper which appears to be very old. Antique Miniature Doll Chest with Hankie Drawers Salesman Sample 12” High x 12” Wide x 6 ½“ Deep*It is darker than it looks in the photos. The finish has a darkened aged look– beautiful. This is a wonderful old piece- I believe it to be about 1920 It has 2 handkerchief drawers on the top. There are 2 drawers side by side and below those. 2 large drawers. The drawer pulls are wood. There grooves in the 2 small drawers and in the bottom drawers. On the sides of the chest. There are grooves again, nice detail. When it is upside down the bottom is the bottom of the last drawer. Only one side of the center drawer is dovetailed, it was easier and cheaper to make that way. The salesman had the one corner as an example to show his customers. Condition: Really very good. There are no splits in the outside wood. A couple of the drawers have wood ... moresplits(inside) The corner of the back right facing leg was broken off. But it looks like someone shaped it. antique doll trunk salesman sample Victorian chest circa 1890
Up for auction is a refinished antique doll trunk or salesman sample chest. This little trunk measures 15inches long by 8 inches deep and 8 inches high. There was no tray with this trunk when found but one was built for it out of oak and poplar. The trunk itself is made from pine and is metal bound. All the metal has been hand burnished but enough of the patina has been left to preserve the antique character of the piece. The lock is an Eagle lock and the latches function but are no longer spring loaded. The trunk has been refinished in a golden oak stain with multiple coats of sealer both inside and out. The original covering has been left on the underside to give a sense of the original look. The trunk is in overall good shape but because it is over 100 yrs old there are dings. Dents splits and cracks but these are minor and add to the ... moreoverall antique feel. It is a very well made solid little trunk that will last a lifetime if cared for. Antique dome top style miniature trunk. The small trunk may have been a child's doll trunk or possibly a salesman's sample. The brass lock has patent dates of March 69 and April 77. The circa 1877 trunk measures about 15 1/2" long x 10" wide x 12 1/2" tall. As pictured. The trunk has the original leather handles and interior tray. The exterior of the trunk has stamped metal with flower designs. The antique trunk is in original condition with leather intact handles and rollers on the bottom. No rust through was found on the metal. The interior paper has wear and the tray has old inactive insect damage. There is no other insect damage to the trunk. Only the back side of the tray. Nice Antique Paper Litho Doll Trunk - ABC Alphabet & Children
This auction is for a beautiful antique ABC Paper Litho Doll Trunk with the Alphabet and Children playing and it is older than the hills. It measures 14" long x 8 1/4" wide and it is 9" tall. It still has its two leather handles( one on each end) and it is in well worn condition but even so it has the most wonderful look to it. It has paper loss and paper wear- it is tarnished around the hardware and the metal trim. It has gouges, rips, dents, tears, scratches, dings, soil spots, lifting paper, cracks, splits, etc. in other words age appropriate wear and tear- and it still displays really well. It is a fantastic early collectible doll trunk and it is one of those antiques that just keeps on getting better and better with age. It is a great find and a beautiful piece of the past as well. Up for this no reserve listing is an antique doll truck. Or ladies accessory. I'd guess this piece dating from mid to late 1800s. It measures 12" height, 14" wide, and 9"deep. It's covering is leather with a fish scale diamond pattern, and accented with tin or copper embossing on the front and lid. There is also a metal handle on each side and a lockable clasp(lock not included) on the front. All the hardware, including the hinges, is in excellent shape with great patina. The tin accents are peeling off in the corners. There are nicks to the corners and edges, and done wood damage around the clasp(see photos) The lining is in excellent shape! Antique Doll Trunk and China Shoulder Head & Body
This auction is for 3 neat items- an ancient antique doll trunk- an antique china shoulder head marked Germany 2 G- and a nice old antique cloth doll body from Germany. This nice old doll trunk measures 6" x 9 3/4" and it is 4" tall and it shows lots of wear- it has paper loss. Scratches, paper wear, peeling, gouges, cracks, wood chips, etc. but it is one of those antiques that looks better and better as it ages. It has a lovely oval picture of a very pretty lady inside and it has an ancient tray inside as well. It is older than the hills. Next is a lovely antique china shoulder head and she is 2 3/4" tall x almost 2 1/4" wide and she is beautiful. It has a nice form and it dates to the 19th century- the turned knobs look like 1860s. But there are old wire nails so maybe 1880s. The drawers are nicely dovetailed. Note the interesting case with the bottom drawer; a lock installation was started but never finished, and I believe this was absolutely original to the piece when constructed. The piece measures 10 3/4 inches tall and 10 3/8 inches wide across the top. The dresser is in good antique condition. The old finish looks original. As shown in the pictures. The two top ... moreside mouldings are missing. The back has an age crack, normal for a backing of this age, otherwise, it shows just the normal signs of age and use. Please see my detailed pictures. But I think originally there was one on the other side also. There looks to have been a spot inside the lid where there was another picture. The trunk may have been painted the copper color but the wood is still its natural color and whether the black on the tin staves is original I don't know. So, you be the judge. it seems to be in really good shape for it's age. please look at all the photos and ask questions. it measures 12" wide 8 7/8" deep and 10 1/4" tall, including the hump. It looks like a child used a crayon on the inside. Both leather handles are present. Gorgeous Antique Doll Trunk & Quilt
This auction is for a gorgeous antique doll trunk and it is a real beauty. It measures 20.5" x 11.5" wide and it is 12.5" tall. Even though this early doll trunk is worn around the edges and the leather has worn through(and split in places) all around. It is an incredible piece and it displays so beautifully. The leather handles on the sides are missing and it looks like there used to be two more on the top in which to swing it up by but they are not there now. It has a wonderful covered divided tray on the inside and there were lots of old pins(and old tissue paper) in it when I got this trunk. I have used it to store antique dolls for many years and it is a fabulous display piece in and of itself. The metal hardware around the edges is really fantastic- I have had many early trunks and I have never seen this rugged rounded ... morehardware on any of the others that I have had and it is incredible how well it has protected this beautiful early trunk. This incredible piece has marks, dings, rust, scratches, gouges, leather wear and leather splits, spots, etc. but that only adds to its character. Here is a fabulous 1800s"leather" Salesman sample(or doll) trunk in marvelous condition considering it is well over 100 years old. As the pictures show. It measures 18" wide X 11" tall X 11" deep and weighs 10 lbs. It is squeaky clean wood construction inside and out and has been cherished in our smokefree, petfree household for nearly 20 years. Look closely at the many pictures as they are more descriptive than words could tell. Note the manufacturer’s(Pettibone Mfg. Co- Cincinnati, Ohio) advertisement affixed inside. According to internet research the Pettibone Mfg. Company flourished during the civil war and and states that"The Pettibone Company’s existence dates back to the Civil War era and they manufactured many items such as hats, uniforms and buttons for Union Soldiers" The underside of the flap ... moredepicts a wonderful original graphic of a little girl which was indicative of trunks of the day. Nice Ancient Antique Doll Trunk & Early Doll
This auction is for a wonderful(ancient) antique doll trunk(and it is older than the hills) and it also comes with a neat early stocking cloth doll as well. This nice old antique paper covered wooden doll trunk measures 10" x 6 1/4" and it is 5 1/2" tall and as you can see it is so old that the paper on the outside is in very rough condition- the top part of the lock has broken off- and it is pretty worn around the edges- even so it is a fantastic very early trunk. What is left of the scene on this paper covered trunk looks so fascinating and I can see a big round zodiac sign with the months of the year surrounding it on the back and it also has lots of people all around it too on the paper as well. I can make out the words on the front at the bottom e Lion. Carr- but the rest of the words are missing. The inside is pretty ... moreneat and clean and when you open it up the cover sits kind of crooked at a slight angle. Even in this condition it is a great find and it displays so beautifully. I am selling this beautiful dome top and till. child's trunk or dolls trunk. It is made of embossed tin and wood. The leather handles are missing and can easily be replaced. The till is missing the small lid. Note the early casters on the bottom attached with hand wrought nails. I am selling it untouched uncleaned. It has some small specks of pink paint that can easily be removed. It will be more stunning cleaned and detailed. Dimensions are 20" wide 10 1/4" deep and 14" h. Antique Salesman Child Doll Sized Steamer Trunk, Corbin Lock, Very Well Made
This is a salesman's sample. Child's or doll sized steamer trunk. I believe the Corbin lock was made between 1890-1905, so I suspect the trunk is about that age as well. The trunk and hardware are the same quality as a full-sized steamer trunk. Consequently, it is strong and sturdy for its size. The trunk is 20.25"W, 12.75"H, and 11"D. The leather side handles are gone, and there are losses to the leather trim and green coloration. I also believe there used to be a tray that fit in the interior. Additionally, the key is missing so the center latch does not operate. These keys can be replaced with the lock's information. The interior appears quite clean. We lightly cleaned and waxed the exterior. Overall, it is a charming object, that will hold a variety of items. This is an old antique doll trunk. It looks reaaly great for it's age. I would say it is from the late 1800's maybe early 1900's. This one here does have the tray with it. The size is 17 1/2" tall 26 1/4" wide 14 3/4" deep thats the outside. The inside is 24 3/4" wide 13 1/2" deep and 11 1/2" tall. The tray is 24 1/4"wide and 13" deep and 4" tall. You do not find these trunks in this good of shape. Whoever had this has taken very good care of it. I have not even noticed a musty smell at all. This is heavy and wieghs around 25 pounds boxed up. Antique Child's Doll Trunk. Dome top, embossed tin, very small & cute!
Hello, Today I am offering an antique child's dome top trunk. I was told it is circa 1880s. It is a beautiful combination of black and silver. With a lovely star pattern. The inside is covered with antique wallpaper. It comes with the original tray. It is 14 inches long, almost 8 inches wide, and 8 3/4 inches at the tallest point. This trunk is super tiny and can fit into almost any space! Unfortunately. Due to the age of this piece, it does have a few flaws. It has dings, dents, and scratches. There is a small gap on the top between the tin and the wood, it is featured in the 7th photo. Two of the little slat clamps are broken on the end, and one is bent. One of the brackets on the inside isn't level and causes the tray to be a bit tilted. Also, I do not have the key. Buy it now or make me an offer! If you have any questions. Document or Doll Dome Top Trunk Chest Wood 21 inches 1800's
Small. Wood, domed doll trunk. It has a metal closure at front that remains but does not lock. The trunk is in well used condition. There are markings on the lock"PA HC" and some indiscernible numbers. Pennsylvania Hardware Company(Late 1700's) The age is approximate. Very useable as a storage trunk for small items or dolls, but also fabulous for a display piece or photo prop. Measures 8.75"D x 21"W x 8.25"H.Circa 1908. The metal strapping has pieces that are broken or missing. Some of the metal details are missing or broken. There are some boards on the bottom of the chest that have been replaced with new wood. Please read the item description and review the photos before bidding. This is an antique. Victorian period, child's wood dome top doll trunk. The doll trunk was acquired from the estate of a doll collector and it is in good clean, antique condition. The lid has metal brackets, trim and latches. The exterior of the trunk is covered with a faux wood and metal trim pattern paper. The interior and the tray are covered in a yellow floral pattern paper. A lid on the tray compartment has a picture of a Victorian woman. The tray has an open compartment. Too(no nail holes or other indication that there was ever a lid on this side) The trunk is 14" long x 8" wide x 10" tall. The paper cover on the exterior has darkened with age and there are some cracks and chips in the paper cover. The burlap straps on the tray are missing. The ... morelid's hinge section(burlap and metal? on the back of the trunk is missing. The paper decoration on the interior has some bubbling, tears/cracks and chips. There's a horizontal tear in the paper on the inside of the lid along the wood seam line of the wood lid. Since I am not an expert on furniture styles) It is an older piece of unknown age with dove tail joints that are hand made. This piece might have been a salesman. Tradesman or apprentice sample and it might have also been a sample of a future wedding furniture gift. In older times it was a custom to give to the newly weds a miniature of a piece of furniture that was being ordered as a present. Or it might be a jewelry box or a doll chest of drawers furniture. The wood in the piece is a combination of solid and veneered mahogany depending on ... morewhere it is. The backing is plywood and it seems it was added later. The top and the bottom are serpentine shaped as well as the hidden drawer. There are 3 drawers of decreasing size + 2 smaller drawers above which there is a hidden drawer. The hidden drawer has a book matched front. Beneath the hidden drawer and the two small drawers and the next drawer there are three dust boards. There isn't a dust board between the two last drawers. Although the rails are there. The bottoms of the drawers are carved in order to make them better fitting and sliding. The key holes are brass and at one time there must have been a lock on the bottom drawer since there are the remnants of the carvings to fit the lock. The eight tiny pulls are 3/8" in diameter x 1/2" deep. It has 4 bun feet. The total height of this chest is 12 3/4" tall x 12 7/8" wide and 6 1/4" deep. For your consideration is an Antique Miniature Wooden Doll Steamer Trunk. The toy trunk is made of wood. Covered with cloth/paper, and has a metal edges and partial top. The inside bottom portion is covered with a patterned paper. There is also a wooden removable divided tray, and metal lockable latch. no key) It is in nice condition with normal signs of age, and use with scuffs, scratches, tarnish on the metal, and finish loss. The trunk is also missing its leather side handles. It measures approx. 14 1/2 wide, 10" tall, and 8 5/8" deep. A nice collectible piece for any collection. Presented for your consideration is this Antique small blanket chest. This chest is a small chest measuring approximately 20" wide x 11 1/2" deep x 9" tall. This chest appears to have been handmade with primitive wood and hardware. I am unsure as to the exact original purpose of this chest as it may have been a salesman sample for a salesman to display to perspective buyers. It features its original tray insert inside. Overall this chest is in nice condition for its age. It does exhibit wear associated with age however it also features a one of a kind look that can only be accomplished through years of service. Unique antique Jenny Lind doll or toy trunk. Made famous by the Swedish opera singer in the 1840's. It has a removable tray. The trunk is 16"wide) 8"high) 9"deep) This is not a reproduction and has not been restored. As a 150-year-old trunk made by skilled a trunk-maker, it does show the imperfections of age. The handles and lock are broken(please see pictures) When locked, needle-nose pliers will open the trunk. It is leather-covered on the outside with a stamped design and paper-covered inside.
