You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. Up for this no reserve listing is an antique doll truck. Or ladies accessory. I'd guess this piece dating from mid to late 1800s. It measures 12" height, 14" wide, and 9"deep. It's covering is leather with a fish scale diamond pattern, and accented with tin or copper embossing on the front and lid. There is also a metal handle on each side and a lockable clasp(lock not included) on the front. All the hardware, including the hinges, is in excellent shape with great patina. The tin accents are peeling off in the corners. There are nicks to the corners and edges, and done wood damage around the clasp(see photos) The lining is in excellent shape! Antique 1886 Pressed tin croc/alligator trunk w/insert tray in very good cond.
Truly beautiful antique 1886(marked) trunk with pressed tin made to look like alligator or crocodile. That is so good that it fooled me when I bought it out of an estate in Hartford, CT last month. Did not get to open it until I got home and then I got the best surprise.The interior insert drawer is in fabulous condition but does have wear to the edges! I have done nothing to this trunk but clean the exterior and put two layers of satin spray laquer on it to protect it. There was only light rust that came off easily, the interior is completely untouched. There are tiny wheels inset to the bottom so you can move it around easily. The interior hinges that keep the top from falling all the way back when opened need to be reattached and there are no leather handles. There is a crack across the inside of the inner wood decoration as seen in the ... morepics, otherwise not much expected age wear. Measures 26 inches long, 16 wide and 14 high with curved top sides. There is a key but I do not know if it is original, although it does work. Please see all pics, enlarge and ask any questions before bidding. Antique Camelback Trunk Nice vintage trunk approximately 28"L by 15 1/2"D by 17 1/2"H. Made around 1880, the metal clovers? on top read(pat'd Mar 16, 1880) it is trimmed with pressed metal panels made to look like alligator skin. The trunk is solid, the bottom wheels are all in good working condition, the lid is firmly attached and it has it's inside drawer. It has wear to the surface paint, the leather side straps are missing/damaged, it looks like the front center latch was re-attached years ago with a small metal plate added, and there is a small hole in the metal along the front right edge(tried to show in picture) There maybe other small issues I missed or forgot to mention but overall this is a very nice decorative trunk that will display well. This auction is for an Antique Childs Hump Back Trunk. It is 16 by 9 inches and 10 inches high at the dome. It has a lift out shelf or drawer with two compartments. Only one side has a lid. But I think originally there was one on the other side also. There looks to have been a spot inside the lid where there was another picture. The trunk may have been painted the copper color but the wood is still its natural color and whether the black on the tin staves is original I don't know. By the look of the ends I am not sure if there were ever leather straps but I would think so. This is estate fresh so I have no information about it. It is sturdy and well put together. It measures 23" tall. 30" wide and 17.5" deep. A collector's item! Looks great for its age though it does have some wear. The only parts I notice missing on the exterior are one of the leather handles and it did not come with a key. There is a name written on the right side. See photos to judge condition. Antique 1877 Camel Back Embossed Tin Trunk
I get the date 1877 from almost every latch and hinge which are dated Oct 23. 1877. Also, the locking mechanism is a"Star Lock Co. and dated 1877 as well. This is a previously owned trunk. And I do not have the history on it. I do not know the manufacturer. Condition is good, with age and wear obvious. Particulars include, but may not be limited to: No key. Slats are repainted. Pink, interior card board compartments have loose lids, one lid is missing, one wooden divider is missing. One leather handle is gone, the other has been removed and each handle is now a piece of painted chain. Easy fix) obvious dents in the tin, some leather hinges on the interior tray are broken or missing. I first noticed a"basement" smell to the wood, but it has since gone away, Some water damage to one side of bottom of trunk. My assessment. Condition ... morefor a trunk well over 125 years old is very good. It has obviously received at some point a kind of"home made" restoration. The bet news is. Almost everything is present minus one lid for the interior tray, and the key of course. I would recommend a box of baking soda to take what lat little bit of odor away that may be present. Antique Small Dome Top Hump Back Steamer Trunk w/ Tray Embossed Tin& Wood Description: Up for sale is this great old small sized Dome top or Hump Back trunk! This trunk measures 24 1/4" x 14 x about 17" tall. As you can see from the photos on the left this trunk has been painted sometime in its past. The bottom tin is black in color with four embedded wheels near the corners. This leads us to believe that the original color of the tin on this trunk was black. You can see in the closeup that this trunk is covered with an embossed floral patterned tin covering held in place with wood straps with very ornate angle pieces at the corners. This trunk has 2 latches and one hasp type lock. Unfortunately the key for this lock is long gone. The hasps both close snugly but appear to be a little fragile. At one time there were leather handles ... moreon either side of this great old trunk. One side still has a little of the handle left. But the other sides handle is gone. The inside of the trunk is natural wood without any covering. The tray still feels pretty solid. There is one knot hole in a side as shown in the photo and most of the original paper covering is still in place. Hello, Today I am offering an antique child's dome top trunk. I was told it is circa 1880s. It is a beautiful combination of black and silver. With a lovely star pattern. The inside is covered with antique wallpaper. It comes with the original tray. It is 14 inches long, almost 8 inches wide, and 8 3/4 inches at the tallest point. This trunk is super tiny and can fit into almost any space! Unfortunately. Due to the age of this piece, it does have a few flaws. It has dings, dents, and scratches. There is a small gap on the top between the tin and the wood, it is featured in the 7th photo. Two of the little slat clamps are broken on the end, and one is bent. One of the brackets on the inside isn't level and causes the tray to be a bit tilted. Also, I do not have the key. Buy it now or make me an offer! If you have any questions. This auction is for a very beautiful vintage dome top Steamer Pirate trunk. It has a very pretty pressed tin design(blue) mixed in with the oak wooden strips. It really makes a very pretty display piece It would look great in any area! It is a useable trunk. Both of the old leather side handles are attached still! The large front center hinge lock works fine but I do not have a key for this trunk. Both of the side front locks work well. There are no interior drawers. Antique Steamer Trunk Pressed Tin Curved Hardwood Slats w/ Original Tray + Keys
A recent estate sale purchase. An antique steamer trunk with a domed lid. The original tray and two keys. The top of the trunk has beautiful curved hardwood slats held in place with brass tacks. It has two leather handles that are in very good condition, brass plated hardware and pretty medallion trim. The trunk has a plain black metal covering with embossed tin(acorn pattern) on the top, down the front and partially down the sides and back. The latches on either side of the lock read' PAT-JUL 97' and the lock is marked' LONG LOCK CO. The trunk comes with its original tray with a pretty cover on one side and the entire inside, including the tray, is lined with an attractive patterned paper. The bottom is also metal covered and has two plain hardwood slats running the length on each side. There are three small metal wheels near ... moreeach corner(one is missing) that make the trunk easier to move around on any hard flat surface. There is some surface rust here and there but nothing serious and no rust through(no holes) It measures approximately 32" long X 23" high at the highest point near the center X 18" wide. The two keys do not appear to be original to this trunk but they work perfectly, the previous owner's family probably had to find a locksmith to open it because once it's closed it's automatically locked, the keys will be placed in an envelope and taped to the outside so you can get it open when it arrives.

What a find! Old steamer trunk. Please examine the photos closely. The trunk is definitely showing its age. leather handles on the side are toast but they are still there. Lock bears the eagle lock co name. It is wood and tin. Lots of tin covers most of the chest and it is adorned with the pattern you see. It has lots of character! 34" x 17.25" x 18" There is rust. There is worn/missing tin etc. I did not attempt to clean etc and have not even carried it by it's handles, I hold the whole thing. The little wheels on the bottom are janky but they work and moved around easy surprisingly. Anyone who has more information on this trunk that I could add would be appreciated. Antique primitive hand painted and decorated chest. It comes from Bergen County. New Jersey. It was in the Vander Plaat House which was once known as the Vanderbeck House. The chest is from the 1800's. It was decorated at a later date. It has green paint, metal panels, flowers, leaves, studs and mirrors. It is 35" long, 19 1/2" wide, and 20 1/2" high. There is some writing on the back of the chest(see pictures) and a sort of design on the inside of the lid. It has metal handles, and mounts. The chest has cracks on the lid and wear, but is sturdy. Antique Victorian Dome Top Hump Back Steamer Trunk w/ Tray Embossed Tin& Wood Description: Up for sale is this great old small sized Dome top or Hump Back trunk! This trunk measures 24 1/4" x 14 x about 17" tall. As you can see from the photos on the left this trunk has been painted sometime in its past. The bottom tin is black in color with four embedded wheels near the corners. This leads us to believe that the original color of the tin on this trunk was black. You can see in the closeup that this trunk is covered with an embossed floral patterned tin covering held in place with wood straps with very ornate angle pieces at the corners. This trunk has 2 latches and one hasp type lock. Unfortunately the key for this lock is long gone. The hasps both close snugly but appear to be a little fragile. At one time there were leather ... morehandles on either side of this great old trunk. One side still has a little of the handle left. But the other sides handle is gone. The inside of the trunk is natural wood without any covering. The tray still feels pretty solid. I did not find a patent date on the trunk and based on 40 plus years of restoring trunks I would date this trunk to the 1880's to 1890's which makes this neat old flat top as much as 124 years old- a true antique. The three original hinges are HD, fancy,tight and the lid closes well. There are 19 polished pieces of original hardware. The Corbin center lock is polished and there is no key. Very nice steamer trunk with colorful green embossed flower tin top. Back hinges in good working condition. Center lock[no key] is marked"Eagle Lock Co. Terryville Conn, USA" The two latches located towards the sides of the front work well. Once engaged. They are secured and released by a small lever on the side of the latch. They are marked"Pat Jul 972" The handles are metal and do not appear to be original. But they look very consistent with the trunk and are solidly mounted. All four wheels on bottom are present and still work. There isn't a lift out drawer or hinge stop. The trunk measures approximately 33" long x 18" wide x 24" tall. The trunk weighs 16 lbs[just the trunk- without packaging] I trust you can tell from the pictures that the trunk isn't perfect. But is in very usable condition ... moreas-is. Antique Old Chest Dome Trunk (Steamer) w/ Shelf / Embossed Tin (Grecian Design)
Beautiful antique chest/ trunk dating to around 1890. It is slightly domed and ornately decorated with a beautiful Grecian pattern embossed tin. It still has original shelf. Two latches work and hinges are secure and operatable, nice size to compliment a room and to store those living room blankets. It does have its flaws as one would expect. Two castors are missing. Leather handles of course gone and although it still has most functionality, it is old, the wood has aged(crack in top, but still solid as supported by metal, tin and wood support"things" but should be primarily a decorative piece with moderate storage use. It still has good integrity, just would not want the kids making a fort out of it.Also, the metal is dinged in two places on top and the tin is missing a small(quarter size) spot on top at far rear and is damaged ... morein back(please see pictures) Otherwise the metal is good antique trunk condition, as it is in original condition. This Dome top is of Medium Size. It's a Wood and Filigree Tin Dome Top Antique Trunk measuring 26"L x 16.5"H x 13.5"W. The Exterior is covered in a Gold and Dark Gold Tin Filigree with Floral Design. You can see that the contrast between the tin and the oak wood is stunning. This trunk has all of its original hardware and both leather straps attached. Antique Victorian 1800's Chest Dome Top Steamer Trunk Wood/Tin
This beautiful medium sized Dome Top antique trunk. Is in Good condition, with only minor flaws. It measures 18"H x 26 1/2" L x 14" W. The exterior is stunning. Covered beautifully in a black colored tin. With oak slats, accented with black tin hardware, and a nice brass design, that is very desirable amongst collectors. Both side leather straps are in original condition. All of the hardware is original and no longer fasten. There is no key. The inside is beautiful original wood. With steel nail heads showing(see photo) The tray is in nice condition although the lids need to be reattached. See pictures. There are rollers under this beauty, that work well, and look great. Antique Tin Clad Wood Trunk with Eagle Lock Co. Lock
This trunk is an estate find from Hop Bottom. Pennsylvania. There aren't any maker marks on the trunk. The lock is marked Eagle Lock Company- Terryville, Conn. The trunk is in good functional condition and is an excellent candidate for a repurposing. Perhaps as a coffee table. The size of the trunk is 23 1/4 inches tall x 22 inches wide x 36 inches long. All of the hardware functions normally and appear to be brass. The tin cladding and wood accents have beautiful patinas. The interior appears to be original. The interior tray is missing. For sale is a very large(and heavy) old steamer trunk. It has a flat top and the outside is covered in canvas and oak with a bottom strip of steel on the sides. It features ornate corner pieces. Solid hinges in good working order, 2 working latches, and a center hasp-type lock(unfortunately, no key) There is some of the original label still visible on the top and the side. At some point in its past it has had a protective coating(poly? applied to the exterior. The inside of the trunk is unfinished wood in good condition. The top removable tray is solid with most of its original paper covering still in place. The side leather handles have long rotted away. There are 4 bottom castors. Antique 1880's Tin Trunk - Great Storage - clean and in ORIGINAL condition
Every once in a while I come across a trunk in original condition that looks fine just the way it is- with character dings and scratches. Bit of paint gone- but all in all with tons of character and battle wounds. This is one of those trunks. It is in very good condition- looks nice and rustic and is ready to be useful and functional in your home or cabin in the woods. Here are some specifics about this beauty. It has been completely cleaned on the outside, dusted with Pledge and dried with a clean linen cloth. I did not sand the slats or do anything to this trunk. It comes from a local home- where it has been lovingly stored for 75 plus years. The family came from Lithuania to the US and used this trunk for travel. Many trunks were made here in the US and then traveled overseas to come back again. The original lithograph of a woman is found ... moreon the center top lid. The tray is also original and in good condition. Paper inside as mentioned above is torn and stained- but after all, it is over 100 years old. There is no lid stay, but I would be happy to add a cloth one- very easy. Bottom is solid, with four little wheels to make it easy to move on carpet. For sale today is a beautifully restored large humpback trunk with embossed tin in a unusual pattern- squares with raised dots- see pictures I did not find any patent dates on the trunk and based on 40 plus years restoring antique trunks I would date this trunk to the!880's which makes this neat old humpback as much as 134 years old- a true antique. This trunk was structurally sound when the restoration started and the metal bottom is solid. Has multiple coats of paint, three original slats, four original metal wheels and the trunk rolls easily. The three original hinges are HD, tight and the lid closes well. There are 23 polished pieces of original ... morehardware. The center lock is polished, has a brass keyhole and there is no key. The mechanical latches are polished, HD, fancy, tight and work well. The original tray is long gone and the interior has been removed. The metal/tin is in VGC. The metal lid stay is original to the trunk. There are 9 solid oak slats in a golden oak color. New black leather handles were installed with the original end caps. 1800s Antique – Humpback All original Tin Embossed Steamer Trunk with Trays
Up for sale is an 1800's tin embossed humpback trunk with original paper lining in very good shape and all original trays with pictures. All in excellent condition. It is black embossed tin with oak strips. All original ornate hardware. All latches work. But there is no key. One of the straps is broken and needs to be replaced while the other is very fragile. It has a all four wheels on the bottom for ease of moving. It measures 34 inches long x 19 inches wide x 22 inches tall at it's highest point. A wonderful family treasure that I have owned and enjoyed for at least 25 years. This is a nice piece that has no flaws except as mentioned and pictured. More pictures available upon request. Antique Dome Top Steamer Trunk Embossed Tin Covered Floral Pattern Victorian
A sweet Victorian style antique steamer trunk from approximately the late 1800's. It measures 28" long X 17" wide x 22' high(at the highest point in the center of the lid) It's covered with a dark red/ dark rust colored floral patterned embossed tin and the tin is in very nice condition. It has a dome top with hardwood slats that are held in place with brass tacks. It has the remnants of a chromolithograph on the inside of the lid featuring a child holding a kitten but it's in poor condition. The trunk used to be lined with paper but most of it has worn off over the years. The bottom of the trunk has 3 plain hardwood slats running across the bottom over black tin and there are 4 small wheels(one on each corner) that make it easy to move around on any flat hard surface. The trunk is nice in dry inside and there are ... moreno moth ball odors. Just a dry dusty odor that reminds me of the attic in my grandmother's home many many years ago. The black banding on the lid sides needs repair and the hasps on the front do not close tightly because the lid does not fit properly. The leather handles need to be replaced and the original wood tray is missing. The locking mechanism in the center is very plain and it appears to be damaged. Please view all of the photos, they are an important part of the description. This decorative old trunk could be a worthy restoration project which will allow you to add additional storage to you home. There are several sites on-line that offer free advise on how to restore antique trunks and the majority of them sell the parts you'll need. Leather handles, etc. can be purchased inexpensively at these same sites and I believe they are also available here on Ebay. The dimensional size of the trunk plus weight of 30# causes it to be considered oversized for shipping purposes which is always more costly. I purchased this Antique Trunk from an Estate Sale years ago. I have owned many trunks over the years, but this one has always been my favorite. The Truck Measures about 29 Inches Long. 17.75 inches Wide and 17.50 inches Tall. This Camel Back Trunk is from the 1800s. But I am not sure of the actual date it was made but its old. The Trunk has some very nice metal tinwork on it with a great pattern. I think this truck has a masculine feel. And would go great in a Cabin, or rustic type home. I personally have used it to hold blankets in over the years. This Truck is old and used. But it believe the damage and wear only adds to its look. Antique Scottish Crescent Arch Top Stamped Tin Steamer Trunk Chest 1850's
A Quite Uncommon Crescent Top Stamped Tin on Wood Steamer Chest dating from the 1850's. This Unique Chest has been in one family since they came over from Scotland in the 1850's. Our belief is that it was made in London based on the construction technique and the stamping of the tin. We obtained it from a lady who was 87 years old and she stated that it was passed down from one family to the next over the years and as nobody in her family wanted it. She decided to sell it. The Chest measures 27 1/2" long by 14" wide and stands 17 1/2" in height. Condition is quite good considering its 160+ years of age. Some small surface rust, a musty small inside, one bottom corner of the tin has a small bend, paper lining worn, no key for the lock(we did not attempt to force it) normal wear, and one latch missing is just about it. ... moreBoth handles are present as are the very small bottom rollers. Antique Tin Covered Hump Back Trunk, Great Shape!
This is a beautiful antique steamer trunk. It is covered in very ornate stamped tin on all sides(and bottom) with wooden accents. It measures 30" wide x 17" deep x 23" high. Very little damage. Especially considering age. The leather straps are mostly gone, the two side latches are not functional, and one roller us missing from the bottom. Just a great show piece. Due to size this will be local pick up only, sorry. Low starting bid and no reserve!

Antique tin boot flask-Army/Navy Makers C.S.L. London
Size: 7 1/2" toe to heel. 7 1/2" tall, 2" wide Weight" 3 pounds. Shipping price: $21.00. Here is a very interesting and unusual tin flask. It's in the form of a boot with a brass cap and hanger on top. The boot has absolutely no damage with a wonderful 100+ year old patina. It is stamped into the instep[ part of the boot"Army and Navy CSL Makers. London" I was told it was used for making"hot toddies"You would pour your rum into the boot and slide the toe into the hot ashes in the fireplace.I'm not sure I agree with that, but never found any reason to reject it, or any other explanation. We are starting it at a nice low price so you can decide for yourself what to do with it.
