Free Shipping Condition: Used Location: Stevensville, United States Offered is this antique upholstered wooden rocking chair made by Jacob and Josef Kohn. Father-and-son furniture manufacturers in Austria in the late 19th ... moreand early 20th century. The chair is approx. 28 3/4" high. 28 3/4" from front to back of the rocker and about 16 1/2" wide in the front. Two of the Kohn labels appear on the chair bottom(see photos) There is also another label but it looks as if it was handwritten and it is no longer legible. I do not know what kind of wood it is made from. The chair has two big problems. The biggest is that the left front leg has broken at the base. By the rocker. There was a screw holding it together here but it has come apart. The other problem is that the curved support underneath the back of the chair has cracked. So far it is still holding together. I don't know if these are"fatal" flaws– I am hoping someone with knowledge could repair these defects and have a beautiful chair. Otherwise. The chair is in good condition. The finish has some scrapes and scratches. Maybe a candidate for refinishing? The upholstery is in very good shape– just some slight fraying on the seat. I don't know if it is original or not. I am not sure exactly how old the chair is. The Kohns formed their partnership in 1867 but I am not sure how long the company lasted. I found references to their pieces from as late as the 1920s. I have the chair marked as"pickup only" because I am afraid in its current state it would not survive shipping. I have many other antique and vintage items listed on eBay as well. These one-armed parlor chairs were designed specifically for ladies of the time, with lower seats and only one arm, so that it was easier for them sit, and to remove their shoes, without having to bend over too far, and was very useful for them considering the gowns, petticoats, and corsets of the time. The woodwork and carving on this chair is in great condition, particularly considering its age. I am unsure of its exact age, but these types of chairs were made primarily between the mid to late 19th Century. The chair has a sleigh back curve at the top, and gorgeous carved details in the wood.

Late 1800s CHILD'S STEAMER TRUNK WITH TRAVEL DECALS FOR TRAVELING

This late 1800's CHILD'S STEAMER TRUNK would have possibly held its' clothes and undoubtedly held its' familiar treasures which made it feel more comfortable on a long journey. Part of the travels of this trunk's owner would have been by sea as well as land. As evidenced by the many travel decals on the outside of the metal steamer trunk. From Egypt, Australia, Holland, etc. This child was a world traveler. The reinforced metal trunk measures 11 X 11 X 20 inches. Has four pull-out drawers and one side of the trunk is a place for coats and clothes, or possibly a favorite doll or bear. The trunk was produced by EDUCATIONAL PLAYTHINGS; their label is on the lock side of the trunk. The cloth covering of the interior of the trunk is faded, and contrasts with the brighter blue on the inside of the ... moredrawers. The metal fasteners which hold the two sides of the trunk together are operational; there is no key to the heavy metal lock; the leather handle on top of the trunk is mostly missing. Wow. Great old trunk! Late 1800s Seward Trunk& Bag Co. Ladies Saratoga Trunk" Otherwise known as a"Barrel Stave Top" or"Dome Top" This style of trunk is quite often mistakenly referred to as a steamer trunk; steamer trunks are a maximum of 14" tall and flat. A bit rough. Someone removed the lock portion of the main latch. It is an unusual double latch design. The compartment lid inside has broken and been repaired. Corner wear, some surface rust and oxidation. Leather handles broke off and were replaced with some very heavy duty brass handles a long time ago. The brass handles appear to be quite old. One of the cast strap clamps is broken yet all there. There is some damage to the tin clad skin. Original lining is cracked and torn in places. It appears to be all original with the exception of the handles ... moreand has not been painted(painting these trunks takes away from their value significantly) I'm sure I'm missing something so please look at the photos carefully and ask questions! Item is available for preview with appointment. I personally would leave it an unrestored original yet it could be restored bringing its value up. This old chest has great patina. With colors ranging from brass to blueish greens. Interior appears to be older cedar. The back has a round medallion with scalloped edges and the words: Made in England PPB. I've searched this mark but have not found a maker. Experts have looked this chest over and suggested it is most likely late 1800s, possibly very early 1900s. The chest measures approx. 22" wide. 18.25" tall and 15.25" deep. Antique American Leather over Wood Society Trunk - Late 1800s
Offered- An outstanding Leather over Wood Society Trunk. The trunk is in extremely good condition- with just a couple of minor flaws. The trunk measures 18 inches across- 10 inches wide- and stands 11 1/2 inches tall. Trunks of this nature were widely used during the Victorian era- to hold Society Hats and other paraphernalia associated with that particular Society. This trunk is marked: photo#10) G.O. Gordon Lodi. Wis. Robert Macoy(Cross- 3- Period) I do not know which Society the Cross and 3 represent. The interior of the trunk is Cedar Wood. There is a form to hold the Society Hat- and a drop down inner lid to hold other accessories. There are a couple of cracks in the Cedar lining. There is a label on the inner lid that reads: The M. C. Lilly Company Manufacturers of Military and Society Goods Columbus. Ohio There is also a silver colored ... moreplaque over the lock with the above manufacture noted. The leather on this trunk is a beautiful Amber/Medium Brown color- with a darker brown outline. The stitching is perfect and all of the rivets are 100% intact. There are very heavy duty Black Metal Hinges with a patent date of 1866. The leather is in very good condition- as the photos reflect- with scuffing and/or scraping commensurate with age. The silver colored lock is fully intact however I do not have the key. The lock is marked: Pat. April 1877(Over 2 Stars) The leather handle is perfect. As is the case with trunks of this nature- the straps that connect to the buckles on the front are used and very fragile. They are intact but do have breaks. I have taped the backs for stability. Also- the left front leather loop that holds the top leather strap in place is missing- please see Photo#9. This is a very nice item- I have a couple of these trunks in my personal collection and they are great for storage- perfect for fragile Christmas Decoration. In this auction we have a large and heavy blanket ... morechest that has been converted to a tool chest. The plank construction creates a fantastic rustic look and feel overall. The lid has a connected back with hinges and the lid has arms that pivot to create a larger lipped top. The base has some molding all around to match the lip on the top. The carved and painted crest on the top shows a shield of white with 3 black arrows and a red arrow as well. There is a scroll swag at the bottom. And a goose at the top. There is a small removable tray that measures approx 33 1/2" x 7 1/2" This shabby chic piece looks to have been a lovely blanket chest, made in the late 1800's, that has been turned into a tool chest. It bears all of the character that years of workhorse use impart to a piece like this. There are a few misses in the top, and some collected bumps and dings in the exterior and interior. Wow what a rare find. This is an incredible primitive Virginia Sugar Chest from The late 1800s. It has a legible date of either 1874 or 1894 on board on inside with maybe initials of HE. It has solid 1 piece boards on top and sides and Rose Bud Nails( blacksmith hand made nails) along with Blacksmith Square head nails. It did have a noticeable lock on it at one time in its historic life. Sawbuck Legs. Very very nice piece of history. Local pickup only.

Vintaqe Woodworkers Tool Chest - Around late 1800s-Early 1900s
This woodworker's chest was bought from an old man by a family member in 1934. Making it from the middle to late 1800s in age. It has a secret compartment for saw storage and additional places that slide back and forth for other tools. I can't read the stenciled name on the front. I do not know what the brass emblem in the front top of the lid means. It is very heavy and in very good shape. Look at pictures. You are bidding on a RARE late 1800s to early 1900s E. Goyard Aine Steamer Chest in its original condition. This is a dark leather chest with original brass hardware. The inside is lined with a white fabric all through it even the top. It is extreamly hard to find these at such an early age. This is a# 13 which is on the front brass latch next to the E. Goyard Aine engraving. This has its original basket and tray which are in very good condition. It is rare to find these still with the original chest. The inside has a paper label which says. Malles Maroquinerie, Maison Fondee en 1792, Paris 1800, Lemans1890. E. Goyard Aine, Abrique A Bezons, 233 Rue St Honore, Maison a Monte-Carlo, Monaco. The handles are engraved with H. B. Preveres S.G.D.G. This chest is about 28"legnth 20"height and 17"width and is the perfect size for a ... morecoffee table. You can leave this in original state for a cool antique look or have it restored to original condition. The initials on the sides are hard to make out but look like J.L.H. on the right side, and ELIGH on the left side in the faded red initials.
