I just lowered buy it now price to $400! I have up for auction a set of 7 lightning rods. As you can see from the pictures they are a wrought iron and copper design. With 4 legs to attach to the roof as well as the center of the rod has a part that mounts to the peak with 4 nails or screws. They are very beautiful and with a little cleanup and polishing they could be really great looking. I decided to leave them as is in case the new buyer wants them to look rustic. VINTAGE WEATHERVANE LIGHTNING ROD ARROW primitive wrought or cast iron part
For your consideration is a vintage weathervane/ lightning rod arrow that I recently came across at a local estate auction. It measures 13 inches in length. It looks quite old and it looks like it may have been buried at some point. For some reason the end opposite the point is not nearly as pitted as the rest of the piece. It appears that it may be fragile so I wouldn't go trying to bend it. I have a good padded box to ship it in so that it arrives undamaged. Please inspect the photos and if you have any questions. Wrought Iron Church Floor Candlestick Forged Torchiere Torch Lightning Rod
Magnificent iron standing candle holder measures 39 3/4 inches tall. From floor to tip of the prickett- pointed piece. This sculpture looks similar to some antique lightning rods. The top part is shaped like a flower. Complete with stamens. The feet extend 12 inches wide. At widest point. The top flower-shaped piece can be screwed off of the stand. The drip tray also comes off. As it's in between the flower-shaped piece and the lower rod. The piece has some type of gilt paint. Which is worn off in places. It's quite heavy. You are viewing an interesting cast or wrought iron silhouette of a child. I bought it at a local outdoor flea market this morning here in Paris. I was told by the vendor that it was used as a scarecrow in the corn fields and that the silhouette of a person would be enough to scare away the birds. I am not so sure of the story. But I like it! It could be part of a weather vane or an old advertising sign(or even indeed a scarecrow! I really don't know. I would guess from the style of the face that it was made some time in the late 19th Century or early 20th Century. It is approximately 14 1/2 inches tall by 12 inches wide at the widest point. Lightning rod wrought iron support
This a lightning rod support bar that is about 42 inches long(as photographed with bent"legs" It came from the roof of an old home from the early 1900's. And I believe is original(the original roof was replaced at the same time the lightning rods were removed) I believe this is wrought iron(but am no expert, so cannot say for sure) I also have for sale some lightning rod globes that came from the same roof.
