TITLE: HANDCRAFTED REPLICA OF COLONIAL WOOD WHITE SPERM WHALE WEATHER VANE Description: This hand crafted Colonial wood white sperm whale replica weathervane is my own design based on pictures of Early American Weathervanes. The weather vane is made of seasoned clear eastern pine. And stressed to achieve that weathered look. In Colonial days the base would also be white, but I stained it a nice deep chestnut color to contrast the white on the whale for display. This is a large item. Overall measurements are; 38" long, 11" high, and the base which is the widest is a little over 3" wide. Item is signed and dated as is my usual custom. Although he flies well and responds to even the slightest change in the wind. I left him in a state to display inside the home, on a fireplace mantle, or as a wall decoration. Antique Wood Cupola Hard To Find
Up for auction we have this totally original cupola. These are getting hard to come by. This cupola measures 24 inches by 24 inches at the bottom where it attached to the structure. The roof itself measures 22 1/4 inches by 22 1/4 inches. It measures approx. 25 inches to the peak of the roof, and 48 inches to the top of the weather vane. I am going to say that the roof is copper based upon the patina that it shows. If this item is packed for shipping the weathervane will be removed and packed inside the base of the cupola for its protection. The people that I got this from said it was all original just the way they took it off. We are going to offer shipping on this item, or it can be picked up locally in Lexington Ohio. Very nice original painted wooden rooster weather vane. It is signed along the bottom edge with"IRWIN PAGE" in basic block incised lettering. Carved from one solid 12" plank. It has old style fancy fret work tail feathers coped out with carving marks left unsanded(last photo shows the rough carving to round the feather ends) The eyes are carved out on both sides(Photo 4) Partially paint-obscured on one side. No dry rot, but paint is fairly shabby with some chipping, peeling, and lots of age soiling as in the photos. I tested it with a dowel in the mounting hole: rooster is properly balance and spins very freely. Photo 7 is the mounting hole. Worn but not rotted. Please note that this is the top only of a weather vane. No mounting accessories- I slipped it over a dowel for the first picture. Great antique 19th century carved wood cod fish weathervane. This primitively carved piece has remnants of paint on the underside. There are carved lines to highlight the eyes. Fins and some scales. There may have been zinc fins and a tail attached to the vane at the seam. It probably came apart and it looks like round headed nails were used to put it back together, however, the age of the weathervane is greater than that. It was bought from a man in Fairhaven, MA. He told us that it came from a small church on Nantucket Island. This is all he knew about it. It measures 27 1/2" long, 5 1/2" tall, and 3 1/2" wide. Antique Primitive Wood Prop Propeller Fan Wind Vane Weathervane Barn Farm Ranch
Recently acquired from an estate. This auction is for a fantastic primitive antique weather wind vane. With a fan at one end and a prop at the other, the entire thing is made of wood with the exception of the fan, its made of tin. The workmanship on the prop is amazing. Entire length is 20-1/4 inches. Still has remnent of original paint on wood. Prop measures 8 inches across. In the center of the wood is the original nail that affixed this piece to the remainder of the body. Weathervane from Farm Antique Lamb Iron Mounted on Wood Base

This very nice antique weathervane comes from a farm(I don't know where! and is mounted ready to display on a custom wood base with cantilevered sides and a barn-red wood support. This is rusted iron and painted and is topped with lamb. Rare Antique Zinc Over Wood Running Horse Weathervane With Original Paint. C1900

For sale is a great and hard to find American original galloping horse weathervane in painted zinc over wood construction. We believe this weathervane to date circa 1900. It could be older could be a little later. It came from an upstate New York home wear it hung inside from the weather for the last 30 years or so. The family that formerly owned this piece resided in Vermont and we believe that is where this weathervane was originally used outdoors before being taken down and hung in a barn. It was eventually wired to hang inside the home as part of their interior artwork and collection of horse related collectibles. That is all we know on the origin of this beautiful weather vain. This piece is pure Americana. We believe the metal to be zinc or ... moresome type of sheet metal. It has a beautiful smooth rust age patina to the metal and a gorgeous layer of original white paint all over the horse which as not all been weathered away. It retains a lot if the paint. As you can see one side retains more original paint then the other side. The underlying wood structure seems to be a cut out tongue and groove pattern horse which is then hand hammered and tacked over in the zinc skeletal structure. Over all it is in excellent condition with only age-appropriate wear in areas. There is some wood splitting(near leg.see picture) but structurally every area of this weathervane is in good condition due to the metal zinc exo-skeletal structure. Wood Airplane Weather Vane / Whirligig from Pennsylvania
This old wooden airplane was a weathervane/ whirligig at my Aunt's house in Pennsylvania. I really don't know how long this was outside but if wood lasts long enough it seems to me that I saw it in the 1970's. Every time I went there from Georgia it was there. From the front to the back it measures approximately 52 inches and the wing span is a little more than 34 inches. The paint is chipping and flaking from being outside. The rod holding it into the top of the roof bracket is bent from someone trying to steal it years ago. I am the executor of my Aunt's estate and have sold many of her items and now am back on eBay listing more items which have not been listed previously. I simply find it a pain to sell on these sites since there is packing and shipping involved but it is the best way for me to work through the boxes of ... moreher possessions. I think this thing must have been fallen or gotten blown off the roof years ago. The weathervane has a lot of character and charm and would go great in any folk art. I don't know if there was supposed to be a figure on the top or if it is meant to be a lightning rod. It comes with a wood base. This is for a handmade Folk Art Old Whiligig. The paints are so thick and bright and are the old Paints. This is a duck and the wings are painted on all four sides and the duck is also painted on both sides. The farmer made a pole for the Whirligig and made a hole in his fencepost so he could mount the duck on the fence and gauge the wind from his house. I am sending the mounting pole with the whirligig. This piece measures 16"L x 4"W. Very cute piece. I welcome all questions.

It is made of heavy cut out sheet metal and shows a native American complete with head dress and shooting a bow and arrow. It is riveted on one side with small brackets to create a holder for the pole. The weather vane is on a iron pole, there is a wood ball and the pole is mounted in a piece of burl wood. Nice original rusty patina, this is a great piece of original Folk Art, an original weather vane piece. The Indian figure measures 16.5" tall and is about 13" wide. Together with the pole and stand.
