Antique Purple Glass Lightning Rod Ball / Moon and Star / Goshen Co.
Being offered is one antique glass lightning rod ball made by the Goshen Lightning Rod Company dating back to the early 1900's. It is amethyst in color with a moon and star pattern and measures approximately 4 1/4 inches across and 5 inches end to end from the collars(openings measure 7/8" inside diameter) There is some light chipping and rough edges on the collars which is quite common on antique lightning balls. Black scorching is visible but overall in great condition for its age. Amethyst in the moon and star pattern is hard to come by. Here is an opportunity to acquire one. You're bidding on my old white milk glass moon and star lightning rod ball which is in great condition with minor roughness around the rims and at least one chip around the rim that would all be covered by the collars. You'll need to do minor cleaning on it when you get it as we've left it as found. I've been told that this ball was sold by the Goshen Lightning Rod Co and they called it the Goshen design but not sure whether that is correct or not. We've added a Buy It Now for your convenience. There is one cap for the collar and another metal piece that I think goes on the lighting rod to stabilize or hold the glass ball. That metal piece has a chip on it. Antique Blue Star & Moon WeatherVane Lightning Rod Ball Unique Vintage Farm Old
Here we have a very unique blue moon& stars weathervane and lightning rod. This is a very cool lightning rod with twisted legs and a very ornate point. The glass insulator is intact. The ball has some minor chipping on the top and bottom that should be covered with caps(caps are readily available) One of the stars on the weathervane has a small bend in it. Deep Purple Milkglass MOON & STAR Old Lightning Rod Ball
Very difficult old Moon& Star in a purple milk glass. You see blue milk in varying shades and of course white milk but try to find a purple milk glass. Nice condition with only a bit of collar chipping on one end as noted in photo 2. 2 lbs Priority mail and I do combine orders to save on shipping. Antique iron Lightning Rod Weathervane Arrow - Moon & Star - Art Deco Red Glass
Offering up for auction an antique lightning rod weather van arrow. It measures 22-1/2 inches long by 4-1/2 inches wide at the glass panel section. The glass panel measures about 6-1/4 by 2-1/2 inches. The art deco style red glass panel is etched with a moon and a shooting star design. This decoration is actually carved into the glass. There is rust and pitting but no sections are weakened by the rust. There are no cracks in the glass panel but there is one 1/4 inch chip. Here are a pair of antique milkglass lightning rod balls in the star& moon pattern. They measure about 5"T x 4 1/2"W. They have an interesting looking patina from years of weather/rust/age giving them a look of being antiqued by a stain. I have washed them in 409& this is the cleanest they came but I think it adds to their design. All sides and ends are shown. They have some normal chipping on ends but nothing really deep or close to ball. I'm back to selling the remainder of the collection of lightning rod balls that I purchased several years ago. Here is an antique milk glass star& moon lightning rod ball that has a sun colored purple cast. The chemicals they used in glass back then would add a purple cast from being in the sun for so many years. This one has a slight cast. I pictured it next to an all white one for comparison but the white one is not included. This measures approximately 5"T x 4 1/2"W. I did clean it but it has a little discoloration around the bottom collar and inside the ball. One collar has a little chipping. The bottom collar has a little more chipping around the edge.
