A late 19th century gilt EAGLE weathervane. Most likely an old. But not original finish. Has a great. Impressive look with spread wing design. I can not see a makers mark on this. Has wonderful design& detail. We've enjoyed this piece in our family room on top of an entertainment center for about 8 years. I've been told to find a new owner for this piece. I will ship this insured with Fed ex. Will require a signature on your end for receipt. Measures 30" wide at wing tips. Is 20" high and just about 12/13" deep. Antique Running Horse Weathervane Late 19th Early 20th C Gilt & Verdigris
Antique Running horse weatherfane made of copper late 19th early 20th century. The rod having ice caps and angled with a support to the rear leg 31 3/4 inches nose to tail. Head is copper. The top of the vane and the rod show lots of old verdigris surface while the remainder is gilt some wear down to copper right side back leg. The tops of hoofs and edges where it is soldered together have verdigris.There is an old patched bullet hole(see Arrow) I did get one buckshot ball out of the vane. Very good detail full bodied weathervane. Ribs and genatials show in the casting. A very good fresh vane. Thank you all. Espically my underbidders. I appreciate you all. Antique full-bodied horse weathervane - late 19th century
Beautiful and rare late 19th century weathervane. More often. You will find this form with a jockey which makes this a rarer find. Probably a W. Fiske but no maker marks. Comes with original full directional with untouched surface. The horse is 31" in length and approximately 4" at the widest point. I found this gem in Vermont back in the 90's. My starting price is what I paid. Please excuse the poor photography as it does not capture the true color and verdigris. If you are in the area, you are welcome to stop by and inspect. Currently, the vane is mounted on a half-log and is not included in the sale as it would be too difficult to ship. Great early Rooster here folks! these are hard to find. I believe this was made by cushing in the 1880s.but you be the judge on the maker. shows great wear and guilt and painted layered surfaces couple old bullet repairs etc. I would not be selling this but a big deal just came up and I am reconfiguring my investments! so hes got to go. this magnificent bird stands 24 inches high by 18 inches wide. he really commands the room. winner pays all shipping and insurance and packing.
