Up for auction is an antique hollow body prancing horse weathervane. It has been painted gold and the horse has broken off of the arrow. It was my mother-in-law's grandmothers and is an antique vane. The weathervane measures 23 inches long and the horse measures 11 inches long by 9 inches tall. Sold as is. It feels rough so it probably was rusty when repainted. It's an old repaint. Rare Antique Large Hollow body OLD zinc RAM Weathervane
This is a very rare old antique large SHEEP Ram vane came from old Farm in Arkansas ITS 22" long with arrow(the ram is 9 1/2"long x 7"tall) Mint condition for its vintage age original no paint. I think the Ram is Zink and setting on a copper rod and arrow is made of cast iron. This old weather-vane is very hard to find ITS hollow body zinc. Rare Antique Large Hollow Body Old Goose Duck Bird Weathervane - Great Patina!
ANTIQUE WEATHER VANE PERFECT FOR THE TOP OF A HOME OR GARAGE OR BARN– PLACE IN A GARDEN IN THE SOIL OR ON A POLE– USE AS A DÉCOR ITEM IN AN EARLY AMERICANA STYLE Acquired at an estate sale is this antique weather vane. Features a goose on top of an unknown metal with hollow body. The goose measures about 27 ½ inches from the tip of one wing to the other wing and 24 inches from the bill to the tail. Great details to the goose with its legs and feet on one side up near its body as in flight. The goose has a hole in the bottom that the rod slides over and allows it to turn to indicate the wind direction. The overall measurement of this piece is 46 ½ inches tall! The measurement of the directions is 18 inches. The bottom shaft measures 19 ½ inches. The bottom larger ball measures about 4 inches across. The spacer in the middle ... morefor the directions is 3 inches. The top ball is 2 inches across. The metal rod between the top ball and the bottom of the goose is 4 inches. Based on the patina and rust of the rod I think it is cast iron or steel. The decorative balls appear to be copper. I am not sure what metal the directions are. There are no apparent hallmarks as to the maker. Age, country or region of origin. This weathervane was in use when I acquired it. Here we have for sale a very nice horse for a lightning rod weathervane. This is the small trotting horse. It is made of tin and is soldered together in two halves. This was covered in layers upon layers of paint. I stripped it and it turned out great. All seams are tight. No dents or bullet holes. Has a nice rusty surface but not badly pitted or rusted thru. The wires are very solid and it's ready to remount. This is a very nice condition small pony, no junk here. I put a quite a bit of time in cleaning this up to make it useable!

Antique UNUSUAL Tin Hollow Body Lightning Rod Horse Weathervane
Here we have for sale an unusual looking tin hollow body two piece horse weathervane. Not sure about the origins of this one. A guy had several lightning rods that came out of Illinois and this was part of his collection. The arrow is 20-3/4" long and made if cast iron. The horse is 8-1/4" long and 5-1/2" tall. It is made of two pieces of tin. It is swelled just like all other hollow body lightning rod animal vanes. It has detail as well. It is soldered together in spots but looks like it never was totally soldered all the way around. It has been painted black some years ago and has seen"use" in the air. It kinda reminds me of a Moore Bro. style horse that mounts on it's two middle legs. No damage or repairs. It's needs to be stripped of the paint to make it look real good. As a side note. Let me add this. ... moreI have not seen this style horse before which don't really mean anything because I haven't seen it all anyways. The arrow shaft doesn't appear to have ever had anything else mounted on it before. No extra holes or solder spots. The shaft is unquestionable as to being original to the front. The solder on the horses hooves appears to be a one time deal. I may be letting something unusual go here but I need to recoup some $'s! What you see is what you get.

Here we have for sale an antique hard to find 1890's brass hollow body two piece horse weathervane. The arrow is 24" long and made if cast iron. It has a twisted wire back which tells you it's an early piece. The horse is 11" long and 6" tall. It is made of two pieces of brass. Horse has a fair amount of the gold gilding still on it. There is some bullet damage that has been repaired with solder years ago. This vane didn't see a long life outdoors by the looks of it. It is an authentic antique piece that's for sure. This style running horse does not turn up often these days. What you see is what you get.

At 33" overall with 12" directionals and a rooster that stands 10" and 8" wide It is a diminutive size. It came from an historic Eastern Shore of Maryland smoke house, thus the smaller size. Seam separations on the body and tail. Directionals are in nice shape. Note the hollow two piece tail. You can use the original nail holes to mount to a stand or put it on the wall. Here we have for sale a real nice looking lightning rod weathervane The horse is made of two stamped pieces of embossed tin. Soldered together giving it a 3-d look. No dents, bullet holes, or repairs. Has a wonderful weathered patina. The shaft the horse is mounted on is made of cast iron and brass and measures 27-1/2" long. This consists of a cast iron front and a brass mounting tube. As you can see, theres some white paint. Big heavy iron front on this one. Nice old horse vane and it isn't a rust bucket!

Vintage 1800's Hollow Body Zinc Horse Barn Weathervane Arrow
This is a very hard to find 1800's hollow-body trotting horse weathervane directional arrow. The horizontal arrow is magnetic and appears to be cast iron. The horse is attached via the twisted metal portion that extends into 2 of the horse's legs. The horse is. I believe, made of zinc- it is nonmagnetic and lightweight and has no bullet holes.which is quite rare! The arrow is 24" long. The horse is approximately 9 1/4" long x 7 5/8" tall.

4 foot weathervane I am assuming is copper. Someone tried to shoot him but you can't keep a good whale down. Mount kit is on bottom as shown so you are all set to mount. Rod is sturdy and in good shape-don't let the wear I photographed worry you. He is Approx. 25 inches across& 8 inches top to bottom of wee little under fins( I'm sure there is a name for them) Overall he shows typical age wear with the best years still ahead of him.
