Stands approximately 12 inches tall and is in good condition! The inside of the dish or bowl on the top has a rose painting or decal on it. There is some wear to the"rose" On the front of the wooden piece stands a huge buck! I believe that the buck is a heavy metal material. The head itself is 12" tall and 9" from the tip of the ear to the tip of the nose. It weighs in at 15 lbs! I do not believe it has ever been used to burn candles. There is no evidence of wax on it. Not sure of the age, it came out of a estate. I have not been able to find anything like this at all on Ebay and certainly nothing this large! Fantastic American folk art adirondack school log cabin lamp with a carving of a buck and doe ca 1940s. The work is signed on the front bottom right. The shade is also hand made from wood and is original to the lamp. The lamp base is carved to look like tree trunk. The antlers of the buck are made of celluloid. The carvings are very sculptural and the lamp is wonderful and would be great in a folk art collection. The lamp still works great. Up for Auction is a Beautiful Victorian Celluloid Photo Album depicting 2 Deer: a large Buck and a Female in beautiful forest setting.Image is very detailed and nicely done.surrounding the image is a scalloped boarder as if one is peeking into a play in the forest to catch a glimpse of the beauty of nature- surrounding the image- the front of the Album is deeply embossed in a rich brown color to simulate the Bark of a Tree.Album retains its original ornate lock/clasp/hooking mechanism as well as its ornate embellishments on both the front and back cover which attach to the clash.this is done is a gold color/gold wash or could be brass but not certain.Album measures approx 10 1/2 H X 8 1/4 W X 2 1/4 deep. This handsome Five Point Buck is made of silver. There are no marks but it was purchaed in Peru and they use.900 fine or coin silver in their metal work. The figure is in excellent condition free of any damage or repairs. The detailing is excellent. A pattern of straight and curved lines are engraved on the body to depict the fur texture of his body. The base is treated in much the same manner to represent the turf he is standing on. Deer measures 2-3/4 inches in height from base ot antlers. The base measures 2-1/2 inches in length. The weight is 2.32 troy ounces.
