Antique Vintage Cast Metal Lightning Rod Eagle Bird Arrow Post Weathervane
Great antique/vintage cast metal eagle lightning rod weathervane. I haven't seen another one out there quite like this. This one is unique. It does show some signs of wear and usage from being out in the elements. It measures 22 3/4" long by 11 1/2" tall. The metal is about 1/16" of an inch wide. Thanks for looking!

Large Antique Copper Horse Weathervane Running Race Cast Metal Zinc Weather Vane
This is a really nice antique copper running horse weathervane with a solid cast metal( lead/zinc)head. Fine Patina is evidence of years in the weather. No idea of age. This beautiful piece was taken from a barn roof in PA. Found at a local estate. The man having the sale said as a boy his family bought a farm and this horse weather vane was on the barn. He said they lived there for 20 years and when they moved his father took it with them. The horse does not appear to have been cleaned or polished and shows the work of nature. I did wipe it down. The horse's head is made of zinc/lead I'm told and the body is hand formed from heavy copper and hot lead soldered together into this fine looking horse. The piece is 17" from top of the ear to the top of the pipe, The pipe is 33" long and weighs over 8 pounds. Nice detail in proper ... morehorse anatomy with muscles and veins showing. Head, eyes and mouth are so realistic. This piece is as good as I have seen and in marvelous condition with no cracks, dents or other distractions. A great piece for the barn or house roof or used inside mounted as a classic primitive. Make sure you use the zoom feature to see the great detail. This weathervane was definitely very ornate for its time. It is cast iron with an arrow at the tip and a rectangle for a stained glass insert at the other end. The glass is missing however it can be replaced. The metal tabs to hold the glass are present. Although I couldn't find a maker's mark. I believe this was made by K retzer. The weathervane is in good condition and ready to be restored. Good project for someone who is enjoys restoring vintage items. ANTIQUE c.1900 CAST IRON and COPPER WEATHER VANE ARROW 28 1/2" LENGTH Great old cast iron weather vane directional arrow. Figural arrow has a center double loop where it can be placed on a lightening rod or pole. The opposing end of the arrow is thick copper and was made so an animal or figure could be mounted to it. The cast iron arrow and copper rod are riveted together in the center. This appears to be all original and is all very old but solid and free of cracks or damage. Some typical pitting in the cast iron as shown. The overall length is 28 1/2" With the arrow portion measuring about 16 inches long and the copper rod portion measuring about 12 1/2 inches long. This arrow is from the same estate and building as our recently sold copper horse weathervane was. Please review photos to assess condition. Antique Weathervane Rooster 1940's Texas Cast Metal Art Country House or Barn Search I have an authentic metal rooster weathervane for sell. It is complete and it is ready for mounting. The weathervane was mounted on the roof of a neighbor's house in the early 1940's. I suspect it is much older than this. But I can only declare for certain that it is this old, because I remember it as a child. My parent's purchased the house at a later time and when they passed away the weathervane came into my possession. It measures approx. 35 1/2" tall and it is 27" wide measuring across the arrow. There is a round piece of metal beneath this. That they must have inserted into a small hole and then the weathervane had screws, that fastened the weathervane to the roof of the house. There is paint wear from being outside so many ... moreyears. There is some rust on the bottom round disk. But it has not harmed the metal and the wethervane just needs to be cleaned and painted or you can enjoy displaying it in his natural, weathered state. I have kept it inside my home for at least fifteen years as a display piece. The antique globe in the first phoograph is not part of this auction. It is time to let someone else enjoy this wonderful. Primitive Vintage Cast Metal Prancing Horse Weathervane Shabby Black Finish I had an opportunity to go down state Illinois recently for the homecoming of my Alma Mater and shopped the wonderful sales. Barn sales and antique shops along the way. I have a huge variety of oldees for you this week- from 19th century primitives to 1950s kitsch- there’s something for everyone! Here's a wonderful older vintage cast metal weathervane in the image of a pancing horse! It's made from a metal that a magnet does not stick to- spelter. I'm guessing, as it appears to be silver in color. The pieces has a hammered metal look on the arrow. You can see lots of peeks of the metal as the old black finish is shabby, chippy and worn- especially on the horse, where you can see more metal than paint. This is the top to a weathervane- it would have attached ... moreonto a pole at one point in time, with a directional underneath- I do not have those, so what you see is what you get. That being said, as it is, it could made for some very cool wall art if mounted on a wall- the possibilities are limited to your imagination. Measuring 33" long, it is 15 3/4" tall from the bottom of the(pole insert) to the top of the horse's ears. The hole at the base where it would mount is 7/8" measuring on the inside walls, with an interior(pole) hole of about 3/8. It weighs 3 3/4 lbs. and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. Aside from the wear to the finish, no issues at all. It's reallyreallyreally barn fresh dirty and cob-webby and needs a good cleaning- I have not cleaned in any way. Another fabulous farm find! Up for auction is an antique/vintage weathervane/lightning rod arrow. Age unknown. It appears to be made out of brass. It's getting the greenish blue tint like brass and copper do over a period of time. All original and intact. It measures 17" from tip to tail. The hole is approx 3/4 in diameter. Cast iron metal piece arrow weathervane pointer fence top cross antique salvage!
This shiny black rusted ancient piece is 9.25 ounces in weight. 8.5 inches in length and 3.6 inches in width and.75 inch depth. I am not sure what it was used for. My best guess is a weathervane pointer. It has some rust showing through the top layer of paint and obvious previous rust buildup that has been painted over in the past. Up for bid is a Antique/Vintage Weather Vane from a farm estate in Oregon. Measures: 32 1/2"H x 231/2"W(Arrow Points end to end) Horse measures: 9"L x 8"H and the NSEW are 16"L The piece is in very good vintage condition has some wear due to age. One of the screws stripped that attaches the horse which I pictured. It can be repaired and one of the balls has a dent which I photographed as well no other damage.

Vintage Mailbox Topper or Weathervane Piece?, Cast Metal Horse & Foal, Awesome!
Awesome and nicely detailed horse& foal mailbox topper! This is a beauty! This may have utility as a weathervane ornament as well. If you fastened it at the base? Item is a heavy cast metal with silver paint with a hint of gold tone to the front. The metal is not magnetic. The item is in nice shape with good integrity and has a nice patina with some minor wear of the paint. I note some areas of unevenness on the back side. But this looks inherent to the piece as a result of manufacture. The piece measures approximately 7 1/4" long by 8" tall.The attachment base area is 4 ¼" long and 2/16" thick. This is a nice display piece for a wall or your collection. Or put it back in service on a mailbox or weathervane!
