I found this Large Cast Aluminum Horse at an estate sale. They didn't know where it came from other than it was their Parents. It looks like it was attached to a weathervane and broke off. I tried to find one like it online but I could not. It is 19 1/2 inches long by 8 1/2 inches high and weighs 1 5/8 pounds. The number stamped in the back looks like 100023. i Up for Auction: Revisions were made to the pics today. Monday June 3rd. An Antique Full Bodied Rooster Weathervane. The Rooster appears to be Bronze. The Rooster has a Nice Patina about it as you can see in the pics. The cast aluminum. Which I'm calling it, is in remarkable condition. There are places where the aluminum shows through as shown in the pics due to years of service and weather situations like large hail stones and other debris which may have come in contact with it. The height of the entire weathervane from the roof to the top of the Rooster is 40" The Rooster is 10" tall and 8 1/2" wide. The Arrow is 33" acrossed. The direction indicators are 19" acrossed. The letters are 3 7/8" tall. The arrow and the stem has a"hammered" look to it. The Rooster has a seam in it from the breast ... moreup over the head and than opens up at the tail which was intentional. This is what is called a full bodied Rooster. This very nice rooster weathervane came from the estate of my Grandparents. This has been on their barn for as long as I can remember and I'm just shy of 60 years old. My understanding is they bought the house in and around 1947. There is no way that I can't verify whether the weathervane was on the barn when they bought it or not. I see no markings on the weathervane that might give away the date of it. Also. There is no way that I could know whether or not this has ever been repainted. First let me say I don't know a single thing about this. By research and suggestions. This is a cast aluminum weather vane. We took this off the top of our garage. My father in law owned this piece and he had it for at least 30 years I'm guessing which the date on back says 1979 which would make it 33 years old. The piece is 23 in high and 17 in wide from end to end of arrow. This is in good condition. The makers marks reads(c) Eagle symbol W ite. Don't know what that means. VINTAGE/ ANTIQUE CAST ALUMINUM AND CAST IRON PAINTED ROOSTER WEATHERVANE*Here's an interesting item. It looks like a part of an old weathervane. It definitely has age to it. Although I'm not sure how old it is. I'm guessing early part of the 20th century. The paint on the rooster itself is real chalky and appears to be chalk paint. It will come off on your hands. The rooster is a heavy cast aluminum and is thick-bodied. Not slender like most. The rest of it is a cast iron base and a metal tube. It has a long bolt through it. The rooster looks like it used to thread on there but it is now loose and will come off. This would be a great decorative piece as it just has that"look" to it. It measures about 18 1/2 inches tall overall and the rooster is about 8 1/2" long. Antique Appaloosa Horse Weathervane Up for consideration is a tall. Over 26" old, all aluminum, weathervane, featuring an Appaloosa horse on a the arrow directional. The arrow tail is complete with one bullet hole through the lower half of the feather portion of the arrow. The metal is all pretty straight, but not perfectly straight. All of the vane has been recently painted, with the exception of the arrow. The base has a screw like bottom. The arrow is 21 1/4"long, the horse being 6 1/8" tall and 7 1/2" long, and the directionals are 13 3/8" long, with the letters being 2 9/16- 2 5/8" in height. It weighs about 1 lb. and 4 oz. Vintage Cast Aluminum Weather Vane Directional Arms N S E W with Rod
You are bidding on a vintage Weather Vane directional fair condition. The N/S and/W cross member are in very good condition and locking screw turn freely. Measurement are 15 1/2" across or long and letters are 3 3/4" tall. Top swindle arrow is broken off and missing. But the feather end has a clean break and can be repaired. The rod is 21" long one amounting is in good condition but the other as seen in photo, broken off and missing. Bolt on foot work and threads in god condition. Age is unknown. You are looking at an antique weather vane horse on an arrow and the directional pieces. The horse rest on a long bolt that is pointed on the end so the horse moves to point the direction of the wind. This bold is not attached to the bottom piece so you will need to do something to keep it in place. It does not have a mounting bracket. If you make a mounting bracket or stand that would solve the bolt problem. The horse. Arrow, and directional pieces are made of cast aluminum. The center piece is a pipe. The arrow is 24" long. Here is the upright pole with mounting bracket for a vintage John Deere deer weathervane. Both pole and bracket are made of cast aluminum and have a hammered look and a black painted finish. Pole is 20" long plus base. End of pole is 1/2" wide approx. Our roofers broke it off at the base so my husband drill. Tapped and pinned it back together. Good repair, hard to see and will function properly. Attractive style and great to repair your broken weathervane.

Vintage Cast Aluminum Weather Vane Rooster Top Only 22 Inch Arrow
Here is a vintage cast aluminum weather vane top featuring a crowing rooster standing on an arrow. The arrow is about 22 inches long; the whole thing is about 11 inches high; the rooster is about 6 by 7 inches. The hole in the bottom where this originally slid onto the stand is 5/16 of an inch across. This was probably originally black. But is now a mottled gray. I think it's pretty, but of course it could be painted to suit.

Ships to USA only. This is an old vintage c ast aluminum weathervane with the original green glass. The only marking on this item is on the arrow and it reads“200” The damage to this item is that it is broke in half and is in two separate parts. No other damage(which is a lot) other than the wear of weather from the past 100 years or more. There is a small spot of paint on the cast frame above the glass. The weathervane measures 3 5/8” tall at the glass and 22 1/4” long when put together. The pivot hole is 3/4” The last picture shows what it would look like if not broken in half. Up for bid is a Antique/Vintage Weather Vane from a farm estate in Oregon. Measures: 32 1/2"H x 231/2"W(Arrow Points end to end) Horse measures: 9"L x 8"H and the NSEW are 16"L The piece is in very good vintage condition has some wear due to age. One of the screws stripped that attaches the horse which I pictured. It can be repaired and one of the balls has a dent which I photographed as well no other damage.

Cast Aluminum, Black, Prancing Horse on Arrow Weather Vane Directional
Here is an Aluminum. Prancing Horse, Weather Vane directional piece. This would be the top piece that would swivel around with the wind to show what direction the wind is blowing. It is 17&1/2" long, 9" tall, and 3/4" wide. It weighs 1 lb. 3 oz. I am listing this as aluminum but I am not positive what kind of metal it is. A magnet does not stick to it. The metal is not damaged in any way. The hole to set down on a spindle is 3/8" wide. There is a reducer inside this hole that takes the opening down to 1/8" wide. The reducer probably can be removed if you need the full width of this hole. I have no idea of its age. I have had it for over 15 years.This could be used for indoor decorating too.
