Antique Vintage Old Large Copper & Brass Weathervane Running Horse Weathervane
This is a beautiful old weathervane. The horse. Directional arrows, and decorative balls appear to be copper. The 3 demensional items are hollow. The horizontal bar under the horse appears to be some other material possibly brass. The verticle rod(black) seems to be steel or iron. I do not know the age, I aquired it at auction in the 80's and thought to add it to a cupola on the barn. This many years later it's still in the garage. This is a very large item and will come disassembled. I'm not sure that I have it assembled correctly but it seems to work. Overall assembled demensions are appx. 45" tall and 31" wide. The Horse is almost 28" wide nose to tail and appx. 13 1/2" tall. There are two decorative balls. One 2" and one 4" The directional Markers are appx. 18 1/2" wide and 3 1/4" tall. ... moreEach letter is appx 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" The condition is as shown in the pictures. MASSIVE 32" Horse Weathervane/ Lightning rod Antique Vintage Copper Brass Horse measures approx. 31" x 17" and the whole piece measures approx. 33" long x 20" tall. It is being sold as found. It will need to be reattached to the pole. I do not know what the head is made from but it looks like brass(just not positive) and I do not know how old it is but it looks very old. View all of the photos and use zoom and enlarge. There are two small scratches on one side(see the last two photos) I wipes the item with a soft cloth and water to get off the dust. Vintage Horse Sulky Copper Weathervane with Brass Directionals
This weather vane came from a farm in Illinois. I'm not sure how old it is. It has brass directionals included. There is a slight separation at the horse's tail and a break at one of the wheels(see pictures) The horse has a lot of details that most weather vanes like this don't have. The ears are original and are usually broken off from wear(see picture) The weather vane measures 31 x 16 inches. The directionals measure 18 x 18 inches. ITEM: Rare Vtg or Antique Mini Table Top Weathervane. Brass and Copper 12” DESCRIPTION: This neat piece was found at a farm estate sale in mid-Michigan. I am not sure of its age. It is a miniature version of a horse weathervane. To be used as a table top decoration. It stands just under 12” tall. The horse is about 7-3/4” wide and the base is 4-1/4” wide. It appears to be made of brass and copper. There are five pieces: The horse top, the round copper ball, the North/South, the East/West and the base. When put together, the pieces spin around. CONDITION: The brass has some tarnishing and there are some little dings in the horse here and there. The detail on the eye of the horse is clearer on one side than the other. The round copper ball is in great shape with only one tiny little ding that's hardly noticeable. There is some dark staining ... moreon the base. There are some areas where it looks like some pieces may have been re-soldered. But I'm not sure– it's possible this is original. The back end of the horse on the top is coming apart slightly but it does not detract from the attractiveness of the piece. Great vintage patina! VINTAGE COPPER & BRASS HORSE WEATHERVANE FROM OLD BARN
Here is an old weathervane we found in an old horse born back in a grown over field. The horse is copper and the N E S W letters are solid brass. The ball is copper. And the mounting pole is metal. It was covered with years of dust when we found it, and pictures 1 and 2 show it before it was dusted off. Note the cobwebs and thick layer of dust on the horse and the N E S W. We dusted it off, but didn't fully clean it, as we wanted to let the new owner clean it to his or her preferenes. Pictures 4, 5, 6, 9 show the weathervane after it was dusted. It is a beautiful large weathervane that stands 44 inches tall from top of horse to bottom of metal pole. The horse is approximately 30 inches long. This looks like an old timer and it has been resoldered in a few places and there are a couple of splits in the brass here and there. Picture 7 shows ... morea split in the lower tube near the horses right foot, however it doesn't affect the way the weathervane operates. When a strong breeze is in the air, the horse will swivel on its pole as all weathervanes do. New owner may want to have it repaired, but that's a matter of choice. As mentioned previously, it needs a good cleaning, but the patina that's on it now makes it have that really vintage look. Antique 1890's Brass Iron Hollow Body Lightning Rod Running Horse Weathervane
Here we have for sale an antique hard to find 1890's brass hollow body two piece horse weathervane. The arrow is 24" long and made if cast iron. It has a twisted wire back which tells you it's an early piece. The horse is 11" long and 6" tall. It is made of two pieces of brass. Horse has a fair amount of the gold gilding still on it. There is some bullet damage that has been repaired with solder years ago. This vane didn't see a long life outdoors by the looks of it. It is an authentic antique piece that's for sure. This style running horse does not turn up often these days. What you see is what you get.

Lovely vintage brass and copper running horse weathervane on stand. Measures 14 3/4" tall and the horse is 9" long. There are what I call locking screws on the N.E.S.W. directional. Loosen these screws and directional moves and if you want the directional to be stationary you tighten the screw. Nice piece to be displayed outside in a garden/porch setting or as an indoor decor piece. Horse is removable from stand. As is the copper ball and directional arms. Up for auction is this Vintage Weathervane Horse Topper. Made of Copper& Brass. Measures 19" long& 12"tall(overall) Made of thin Copper(but sturdy) I tried to show the Copper in the last picture. The weld on the back leg has come loose but could be easily fixed. The Arrow& part of the Horse are starting to show pretty neat patina. The"cap" on the bottom of the Arrow is threaded. Antique Sulky Weather Vane Copper and Brass Horse and Rider nice Patina
This is a vintage Horse and Sulky with Rider Copper Weathervane. The rear leg of the horse has come loose from the bottom cross post but is very repairable. The driver left reign needs to resoldered and one spoke on the left wheel has been cracked. all repairable. The driver sit slightly to the left of center when viewed from the front. it is in good condition with no major issues. All can be seen in the pictures provided It measures 33" x 15" I purchased this at an estate sale where the owner past away after living in her house nearly 30 years. This is a wonderful vintage weathervane of a sulky with harness rider and trotting horse. It is copper metals with rider's head made of bronze and/or brass. It has a great original patina. This folk art weathervane dates to the 1880s. No makers marks. Made from copper forms and soldered ... moretogether the figures are hollow. This is one piece and has no directionals.
