For sale is a pair of vintage lightning rod balls. may be antique. These came from the farm country of Southeast Kansas from an Antique Dealers auction. In another auction I will list 2 metal vanes. The balls. One blue and one white appear to be like milk glass. The blue one has been used and has come chipping around both of its 1.25" lips. The white one has a pair of plastic fasteners attached and I notice some chipping on one end. This need cleaning. But otherwise I do not see any condition issues. About 5" long; softball size. This is a lot of 3 old lightning rod balls.They are made of milk glass.2 are blue and 1 white.The 2 blue measure about 4 1/2" diameter and the white one is about 3 1/2" diameter.They have no cracks but ends are chipped up some.They have very old wasps nests in them which I left as some may want.Check out my other listings.

All of the balls have"medium" size collars with the usual wear expected from 100 years of rattling in the wind while sitting on a rooftop lightning rod. One of the sun colored amethyst(SCA) balls has a V shaped chip that does not reach the body of the ball. But a metal cap covers this chip fully. One of the blue milk glass balls has a bubble pop hole in it. This hole is from the manufacturing process, an air pocket was in the mold when the ball was made. This is not a hole caused by a BB gun. This ball is considered usable, as it was on a rooftop lightning rod for years and did not break during its lifetime. All of these balls have another 100 years of use left in them! TWO Antique Lightning Rod Ball Globe + Rod Tip Robin Egg Blue& White Milk Glass Here are two lightning rod globes. Both measuring 5 1/2 inches high and the opening is 1 1/4 inches. The blue globe is in pretty good condition with just chipping on both ends. It's a pretty blue. The white milk glass has obvious cracks-see pics-but holding together pretty well. You will also get a copper lightning rod tip that measures 9 inches. I have the original pole that goes with all of this but have no means of shipping it. if you are interested in a pick up, please email me for pics. It's pretty rusty.

Two Glass Michigan Lightning Rod Balls - White & Blue
Two very nice lightning rod balls from an estate in Michigan. The only wear/chips are on one end of each ball. These are in remarkable condition overall but please refer to the pictures and examine carefully. They measure approximately 15" in diameter and are 6" tall. Color is very nice.
