They were salvaged from a barn or industrial building but they took care when taking them off…I picked the best 2 when I bought them. The bottom opening is 24” X 24” The overall height is about 33” to the tip at the top. The height to the top of the ring is about 29” The Diameter of the ring is about 28” There are no bullet holes or other major detracting damages but there are some expected dings etc. from usage& removal… the edges are bent from removal but should come back to shape for the most part when properly framed/mounted. ALSO. I see 1 has a dent on 1 side…again, this should be able to be reshaped for the most part ... moreby someone in the know as they are soft copper. Weight is estimated at 25 to 30 pounds each. I’d guess they are 70 to 100 or so years old. These are a good size for a house or a smaller barn(30’ X 50’ or so) or industrial building. Remember. These are SOLID COPPER& will buff to a high shine if you don’t like the original weathered look. You’ll have a hard time finding another pair like these especially at this price! Condition is very nice with no breaks, chips or damage- one side has lost more of the gold paint and is a bit more dull- there is verdigris within the lines of the tail and here and there within the tiny scale edges- lots of fine scratching, scuffing and general wear associated with being exposed to the elements- I removed the white spot on the fin after the photos ... morewere taken(it was a dot of paint) Heavy, solid and so unusual, this would have mounted to the top of an iron spike on a barn roof top to protect the building from lightning strikes. I've had quite a few finials over the years, but never a fish- stands independently- think it would be a wonderful addition to any collection or display! If questions. Please contact me- thanks!

Being offered is this Antique Solid Copper or Bronze(not sure) Rocking Horse weathervane topper/sculpture. Measuring in at a full 8.5" tall(including stem) and just over 11" long and is mounted on a shaft that appears to have 1/4 NPT female threads. This exquisitely detail piece of metal-work/American Folk Art weighs in at just under 4LBS. And! I do not see any manufacturer marks, but based upon the weight of this item, I estimate this was manufactured around the turn of the century. I consider this item to be in excellent condition, with no damage what-so-ever.
