Louis stamp on the pointer, but it's worn. It appears as though possibly someone applied some sort of adhesive to the glass to adhere it to the metal. Still displays well. The Rabbit is approx. 11 3/4 inches high x approx. 12 inches ... morelong and approx 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 inches thick at the mid section. The Rabbit has been affixed to a base that measures approx 4 x 8 1/2 inches. The Rabbit looks to have been exposed to the elements of the outdoors as it has some rust on the feet and legs. Looks like someone used a rust stopping black paint to preserve it. The Rabbit is very solid and could easily be reapplied to a Weathervane if someone chose to do so. I cannot find any makers marks on it anywhere. I believe it is pretty old and is still very desirable. Postage will be $12.00 due to the size of box needed to ship it safely.

Up for Sale is a Antique Horse and Carriage Hand-painted Weathervane. One of the nicest ones I've ever seen. This has hinged moveable parts with the carriage drivers arms and the horses torso. So when the wind blows it actually looks like the carriage is in motion. Amazing piece of Americana Folk art. An American Pickers Treasure For Sure. This weather Vane is made of all cast iron and hand painted with Original vibrant colors. There is some paint loss due to age and weather but overall it's in great condition. Antique 1800's Hand Forged Rooster Weathervane (Folk Art)
This weathervane was found in Idaho. We don't know much about it. We think it was built in the 1800's. Some years ago it was cleaned and painted Iron Black. It's in good condition for it's 100 year old age? 36" x 36"

This"Dog" Weathervane as illustrated and described in the Book. Yankee Weathervanes, written by Myrna Kaye is made from the original A.J.Harris& Sons Cast Iron Molds. Also described and pictured in Yankee Weathervanes. We at New England Weathervane Shop are privileged to be the stewards of the largest working antique weathervane mold collection in the United States. This particular Weathervane. The Dog, was originally produced by A.J.Harris& Co. later Harris& Co. Boston, Mass. From about 1870 to 1881, and originally sold for $25.00. It was then produced by W.A Snow Co. Boston, Mass. from 1883 to 1940. A white metal version owned by the Smithsonian was probably made by Snow in the 20th century. The Molds were then acquired around 1940 by E.G.Washburne. 207 Fulton St, New York, NY. E.G.Washburne was purchased by Ralph ... moreand Teresa Raynard in 1956 and renamed E.G.Washburne& Co. E.G.Washburne& Co. was moved to Middleton. Mass. in 1956, then to Danvers, Mass. in 1959 where the collection of molds were used to produce some of the finest Weathervanes crafted in the 20th Century. The Weathervane Molds were placed in storage in 1991 until we purchased all of the Molds, Patterns, and Tools from Mr. Raynard of E.G.Washburne& Co. in 2011. It is not possible to say how old it is. It could well be antique. It certainly isn't an artificially aged reproduction. Although the item is light. It must be packed in a very large cardboard box. Antique Weathervane Rooster RARE Brass / Bronze Or Copper ? Hand Hammerd HELP ??
Here we have a estate find very old antique Weathervane rooster. Im not sure if its all hand hammer or if its copper brass or bronze nor its exact age you collectors will be the judge. I can tell you its very very old i could not find another one like it any ware on the computer. It looks like the person who owned it has a old drill bit and screw it on to a old antique block of solid wood. It does screw off its not welded on the drill bit. When you look at the bottom ware screw threads are it begins with a white metal but then it turns into a brass color metal so thats why i my self think its solid brass or bronze but again you collectors will be the judge. Please see the very close up picture of the threads and you will see exactly what i mean about the threads turning into a brass color after the first 4 or 5 threads. From the point of his beck to the tail its around 16 1/2 inches long. then from top of tail to bottom of tail its almost 10 inches long. then from his belly to top of his head around 12 inches tall then from one side of his body to other side its around 3 1/4 inches fat. Then when sitting on the block from the bottom block of wood to the top of the head its around 26 1/2 inches tall. The wood base it self is 2 1/2 inches thick and left to right around 6 1/2 and front to back around 6 inches long. Still in very good solid condtion i do not see anything broken at all. Again if any one can please tell me who made this and its exact age and what its made of i thank you very much for your help. Antique Pheasant weather vane. Was on top of 4 unit apartment building I own. At one time building was a huge hen house, filled with the best egg laying chickens,or so I'm told.Building was converted into 4 unit apartments in 1955. About ten years ago I talked to a neighbor(he was about 80 then) he said he remembers that pheasant weather vane when it was a"chicken house" also said that a lot of weather vanes were chickens/roosters, but I guess the chickens didn't want their own kind, up there on the roof,then he laughed. Think its made out of aluminum& was hand painted, still see some of it. Hard to believe its that old, until you look at the metal screws, that's decades out in the weather. ANTIQUE 1800s PRIMITIVE FOLK ART ANGEL/CUPID TIN HAND MADE/PTD ORNAMENT 230KG-10
This is an unusual piece of primitive Folk Art. Hand made and hand painted. The original purpose is unknown. Possibly as a piece of a weathervane. It is weathered, and cupid is missing part of his bow. There are holes along the top perhaps to hang it, or to tack it somewhere. Up for auction here is a Vintage Antique Rare Fancy Glass Hand Painted Lightening Rod Ball. This ball is in excellent overall condition with no chips or cracks. It measures 4" in diameter around the middle. I believe this is a lightening rod ball but it could probably be used as a lamp shade for a very small lamp also. Guaranteed to be original and as described- Antique late 19th Century early 20th Century hand made copper and Zinc folk art arrow weather vane. This weathervane is of the larger and more rare and desirable size. The patina is outstanding and superb on this scare and original and early example. A true piece of Americana! This relic was discovered in New York, the weathervane was made in New York or New England circa late 1800's early 1900's. SIZE: 27 inches long by 5 1/2 inches across the widest part on the end. The arrow point is about 5 1/4 inches wide.CONDITION: Fine condition. There are no chips.Cracks or repairs. As you can see there is rust from age and normal general wear from age as well. Huge antique hand forged weathervane 1800s fancy lightning rod cupola
This is incredible. Came out of virginia is only history unfortunately. 46" long 11 3/4" widest 5/8"holes. Hand forged except for the tail insert which is rivetted to four tabs that are rivetted torails. Everything looks original. Only damage to this monster is little doughnut cast piece is only 1/2 there. Hate to sell this as it is probably the best I will ever own but love my kids.
