Antique Folk Art Horse Sheet Metal Weathervane Americana Architectural
Up for sale is an antique horse form weathervane recently found in the Northern indiana area. It is found in good used condition and comes attached to part of its original post. It is sheet metal and offered in as found condition with its original finish. This piece has pegged construction as it joins the post. The only condition issue to discuss is rust to both sides. The directional post the horse rests on is missing both ends and the tail shows minor losses. It measures approximately 12" x 8 1/2" in size. The base bas a diameter of approximately 5/8" A very nice folk art piece which will display well, indoors or out. A nice look for any horse enthusiast or folk art lover. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL BARN ROOF CUPOLA
Up for bid. Is as the title states, one of three absolutely stunning antique architectural barn roof tin and wrought iron cupolas. Recently found in Western MD. but originally came from a Mennonite barn built in Waynesboro, PA. around the early to mid 1800's. The largest cupola, seen in the center is the first one we will sell, however, the winning bidder will have to option of purchasing the other two at the end of this auction. This cupola, unlike the other two, stands close to 10' high x around 3-1/2 to 4' in diameter. You'll notice there are a few holes in the tin, but structurally it all appears to be at a place where it could easily be restored. Being skilled in the restoration of these pieces, I would do it myself, if I only had the time, and would be happy to do the restoration for the winning bidder upon a successful ... moresale, if they are interested. The base of this piece looks to be about 30" square and although we don't have the vent houses that these cupolas originally sat on, a base could still be built for each one. The third picture shows how high this one stands, and if you look closely, you'll notice that guy standing there next to the cupola is holding the weathervane that came off of the top of it, which we will include with this cupola only. We don't have the copper ligh tening rod cable. The finial and inverted cone portions of the cupolas do have some white glass insulators still wired on. The weathervane as seen. Has a rear area made up of rusty tin and not what was once probably a piece of stained glass. All 3 of the cupolas are easy to handle and were transported to my farm by me and the guy in the picture on my pickup truck. Due to size, we would appreciate the winning bidder picking these up here in Fawn Grove. Antique Soldered Tin Folk Art Cupola Finial Architectural Roof Garden Ornament
This auction is for an antique soldered Galvanized TIN CUPOLA with a great oxidized patina. This Cupola is in excellent structural condition. It is fabricated by an unusual kind of corrugated zinc coated tin(steel) sheet metal similar to the texture of corduroy. The rust oxidation is mostly on the exterior surface and the metal is still solid with its original thickness(not rusted through or badly corroded) It appears that this piece was never painted and the original galvanized zinc cladding has been eroded by the elements. The result is a great antique rust patina which tells the true age of this piece. The dimensions are 22" tall and 15" square( at widest part) The original galvanized zinc remains mostly intact on the interior. There is some roofing tar residue on one side. This will make a great architectural detail to any old ... morestructure or in a garden setting.

Circa 1850 ANTIQUE CUPOLA - Gorgeous Architectural Piece!
This wonderful cupola sat on our first home. When we had the slate roof replaced. We removed it. The home it sat on was a converted barn that was built in the early 1800's. During prohibition, the townsfolk were rumored to keep a stockpile of illegal liquor in the loft of the barn. The roof has a gorgeous patina. The louvers are in great shape and the only hint of wood degrading at all is at the very top where the weathervane was attached. Hopefully all of the photos will show the overall condition. He originally would have been on top of a building. But now he can go anywhere. He measures 16-1/2” high. With a wing span of 15” and the base is approximately 5-3/4” wide. He has been weighted down at the base with what looks to be plaster. He has very nice detail in an impressive pose. He has been gone over with some gold paint. Dec.1.91. 1(which from my research would be the Victorian era near the turn of the century c1891) These estate sale finds are extremely hard to come by and from what I have gathered rather rare and collectible. Antique Large Copper Architectural Finial Banner Weathervane AAFA Connecticut
Today we are offering a very rare piece of Americana. We have an architectural finial built in the form of a banner style weathervane! We are not sure if it's base rotated as the wind blew or if it was in a fixed position. Could have been either. This finial bears the initial's C.P. We purchased it from a gentlemen who said he got it many years ago from a sale with items from the Charles Phelps estate in Connecticut. Charles was a famous for being the first attorney general of that state. We have reached out to numerous sources looking for any pictures of his home with this finial in it. We did find one picture of mansion that included a side shot of his gate house. While not conclusive. We believe we can see it on the roof of that building. We do know that this finial was built for someone of prominence and wealth and dates to the ... morelate 19th or early 20th century. This was handmade finial constructed by a craftsman of the day. The whole piece is constructed from copper. We did a small scratch under the green verdigris surface and we can see the copper. The larger tubular parts are made from 2 separate molded copper pieces soldered together as are the various balls. The banner is made from sheet copper. The initials C.P. are cutout. This finial/weathervane has a custom designed museum mount/base that it rests on. We have included some info in regards to Charles Phelps. We want to add that we do not have conclusive evidence that this piece was owned by him. However. We do have verbal attribution from the previous collector. Also given his position with the local and state community, this would certainly be the type of piece someone of his stature would use to highlight his property. Not a piece the common person of the day would have owned. The piece measures 31" wide and about 62" inches tall. Here are two cast iron snow eagles- snow gard, they are called"snow birds" They came from New Jersey and were probably made in the early 1900's. These were attached to the edge of a roof to catch snow and ice. Were used on the edge line of steep roof tops to hold and break up the snow that becomes built up on roof tops A wonderful piece of Early Americana. Each of the eagles stand 5 1/4" high and has a wingspan of 6 ¾ inches. Their bodies are 1" deep and the base is 2 1/2" deep. Used to secure him to the roof top. They are all in excellent condition. Architectural Salvage Antique Town Hall Clock Numbers Cast Iron Roman Numerals
Antique Roman numerals from a large architectural clock. Came from a basement on one of my home salvages in Hasbrouck Heights. NJ. Still researching actual origination. Will update as I find things out. They were found in the wooden box pictured. Each is made of cast iron and measures six(6) inches wide by eight(8) tall. Each also has two(2) 1.5 inch spikes in the rear for mounting. The numerals have the original red paint. Very very rare item here.

Rare Life Size Antique !9th C Architectural Copper Lions Head Weathervane Style
This 19th century Architectural copper lions head has wonderful original deep patina and verdigris which tells me that it has spent most of it's life outside in the elements. It has never been cleaned or polished. It dates around the 1860's and has nothing missing. It's all there and complete. The only thing I can see that has been done is the seam on his nose was probably resoldered once upon a time. Notice the great life like detail to it. Measures 13" x 12 1/4" and it protrudes about 6 3/4" out from the wall to the tip of his nose. if you look closely at my pictures you will notice that this lions head was made from several pieces of copper seamed together. These do not come around every day so don't miss your opportunity. I am offering it without a reserve.
