The copper has weathered nicely over the years and has achieved a neat bronze color patina. This point was made from solid copper. There is a slight dent in the one side which slightly distorts the point. It fits on 1/2" i.d. or 5/8" o.d. copper pipe to put on a lightning rod stand. Fresh from the roof of an early Pennsylvania barn. That has collapsed under the weight of this winter's snow, are the three lightning rods with weathervane. They are made of copper, brass, and iron, with porcelain insulators(one insulator is missing, one is broken) The lightning rods stand approx. 6' tall, and the weathervane arrow is 32" long(animal piece is missing) The twisted center pieces look to be copper-covered iron(some copper is peeling/damaged, see photos) topped with what I believe are solid brass acorn pieces, and the five spikes look to be copper(one has a few bent spikes from the collapse) The glass/ceramic balls are missing, but the ring-caps are still present(lots of balls available here on eBay) The three-legged iron mounting brackets are fair for their age; rusty and pitted, all mounting feet and insulator ... morebrackets are present. Gorgeous Vintage Copper 3-D Hollow Pig Weathervane with Copper Directional& Spacing Balls! This large copper pig has a wonderful weathered look with its' green patina. I prefer this look. So haven't shined it up but you can certainly do so. This pig is 33" long from his curly tail to snout. He's 19" tall from the top of his back to the arrow tubing he's attached to. The body is hollow and has varying depths of about 3/4" to 2" Both sides of this pig have a lot of character and bends to give a 3-D dimensional look. I don't know if all of this"sculpting" was done on purpose, or whether some of it has been acquired through the years. The sturdy copper tubing Mr. Pig is attached to is 5/8" in diameter where an arrow could be inserted. There's also a 1/2" opening on the bottom ... moreto insert in the directional piece. The letters stand about 3-1/4" tall. The copper spacing balls are 4-1/4" 2-1/4" in diameter. They all have a green patina. The larger ball has a slight dent on the edge of the ball- it isn't apparent when it's in place. This pig weathervane is an amazing piece of of folk art to fly in the wind in your yard or on top of your roof. It would even make a great conversational piece in your house! The steel pole is optional. It's just over 39" long& adds about 4 lbs. to the mailing weight. If you want the pole. Here we have for sale a real good looking set of 3 matching copper lightning rods and glass balls. These are a little over 3 ft. tall. Rods are twisted copper with super green patina and have the original bottom clamps. Points are 3 sided bayonets. The stands are thick twisted steel wires and have all feet intact. Insulators are white porcelain. One is damaged but still usable. 4- are embossed Ohio Lightning Rod Co. and 2- are embossed C.B.F.R. Balls are plain 4-1/2" white milk glass rounds. No damage to any of them. Sorry. no caps for these. Weathervane is 19" long made of aluminum. The amber glass is genuine old original. Took these down myself a few years back and had them stashed away. These are exactly as removed from a house here in Ky.
