2 Vintage Hand Made Metal Barn Shed Door Gate Strap Hinges Pintles 10" & 8 3/4"
Pair of vintage metal barn. Shed door, or gate strap hinges with screw type pintles. These hand made. Double sided hinges measure 10" long and 8 11/16" long. They are both 1 1/2" wide. The inside gap between the straps is 1 1/4" at the hinge. The gap will pull in at the wider ends when screws are put into the hardware. They were used on the same door and have a little of the red paint remaining. The longer hinge would be best used at the top of the door or gate. The pintels are heavy duty and measure 11 1/4" long and 3/4" in diameter. The threaded portion is 5 1/4" long and there is an old square nut at the ends. They are extra long for a thick post.

The width where the two pieces of the hinge are pinned together is 6-1/2" Each Hinge weighs about 4 pounds and 11 ounces. Both hinges are stamped with"FM 381" on the rectangular side and"FM 382" on the triangular side. There is a logo mark that looks like a"U" in a box. These heavy duty hinges are used on barn doors and railroad box cars. The hinges have some surface rust and a few dings but are still very usable.

TWO Large 14.75" x 7.75" Metal Vintage Heavy Duty Hinges for Shed, Barn Door
This listing offers the two metal hinges pictured. These are heavy duty hinges that operate smoothly for their age and should have years of service left in them. I would think they would be useful for large doors. Gates, barns, sheds or the like. As pictured. They are a max. of 14.75" long by 7.75" tall. The strap that attaches to a door would be about about 12" long and the mortised joint would be about 7.75 inches. Please message if you need more details. These hinges are sold just as found.
