The trunk has the original Jensen Trunk Factory label inside the hinged lid. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice brown covering that is mainly intact, and metal reinforced seams. There is no key with it, and therefore the main lock on the front does not work. The trunk also has two latches, one on each side of the main lock, that are a unique design and work well. The trunk also has other labels on it from travel, but I am unable to make out any dates. The trunk is 12” tall, 7.5” deep, 24” long and 14.5” wide.

The leather handles on each end are also intact, however, they are brittle and cracking. The latches work, but the center locking mechanism is missing. There is a small break in the wood of the trunk in this area, where the bottom portion of the locking latch would have been located. There is a piece of the left latch that is also missing. The inside lining of the trunk is intact, but it is quite dirty, and there are large stains on it as well. The original label is still present on the inside of the lid but is very faded. The trunk is 9.5” deep, 13.5” tall, 30.5” long, and 22.5” wide.

The trunk has a hinged lid, and the original lining is still inside the bottom portion of the trunk. The trunk is made of wood, with a nice brown covering that is mainly intact, and metal reinforced seams. There is no key with it, and therefore the main lock on the front does not work. The trunk also has two latches, one on each side of the main lock, that are a unique design and work well. The trunk also has other label remnants on it from travel.

Antique Small Wood Trunk Quincy (Il.)Gem City Trunks. Bags,Valises & Cases
What a great find this is! Probably from the very early 1900's. Possibly a bit earlier. It stands 13.5" tall, is 20" across and depth is 11" Wood with metal hinges. It has a keyhole, but no key. Hinges are all in great condition. Inside is original paper lining. Blue and white label is pretty good. Gem City Trunks. Bags, Valises& Cases" Original tray. This is from Quincy, Il. On the lid top is a small chunk missing. The side has a small spot of missing veneer. Overall. This is in great antique condition. Will make a great show piece. Please look very closely at enlarged pictures and ask any questions you may have before bidding. To avoid future disappointment. Almost all of my items are from 30 to 150 years old. They will not look new. They will. Most likely, have paint loss, rust, dust and/or everyday wear on ... morethem. Please keep this in mind before you bid. Goyard Malleries Vintage Suitcase Trunk, Chests & Trunks, Pre-1934
Goyard Suitcase/ Cabin Trunk in good vintage condition. Trunk has all the original latches and original leather handle. Exterior is highlighted by early turn of the century travel stickers- Cunard White Star. Ritz Madrid and Great White Fleet. The interior has Goyard's signature yellow cotton lining. As does the removable tray. Tray has 2 leather handles, stamped"Goyard" All hardware and rivets are firmly attached. Brass locks are marked Goyard Paris. Thank you for taking the time to look at the details of this beautiful antique trunk. This Particular Refinished Antique Dome Top Trunk comes with Lock. Keys, tray. And original picture. We at Trunks-n-treasures take pride in the trunks that we refinish. We have refinished hundreds of trunks. Each one with the craftsmanship that we have learned from growing up around our grandparents watching them run and refinish furniture in their antique shop. This particular trunk is a very beautiful. Highly decorated, nice, clean refinished dome top Victorian steamer trunk from the late 1800's. To begin refinishing this particular trunk we took all the paper off from the inside and out to reveal the gorgeous wood. This beautiful trunk is made up of pine wood with oak slats. Once we removed the paper from the inside, we sanded all the wood and then ... moreapplied tung oil to it as a finish. After much research we have found that tung oil works best because it replenishes the wood and prevents it from drying out so quickly. The lid on this trunk also has a lid stay to help keep it open. You will also find the original picture on the lid. On this trunk are two new leather Amish handles. The original latches on this beautiful trunk also work to keep the lid secure. The lock for this trunk also comes with two working keys. The fancy metal hardware on this trunk has been repainted by hand in black and gold leaf. Please take the time to notice all of the fancy metalwork on this trunk showing off its beauty. As in any trunk of this age there are a few signs of wear but that is to be expected. The interior of the trunk is very clean. For this trunk we also made a replica tray just like the original. The tray is divided into deep compartments to store small items in. Dropping down to the bottom of the trunk we have also applied tung oil to the bottom to give it a new refinished look. Antique Flat Top BAUER TRUNKS & BAGS Steamer Trunk Complete with Tray & Key
An antique steamer trunk with a brass tag that reads' BAUER TRUNK& BAG CO. OSHKOSH. WIS' The trunk is covered with dark canvas which is held in place with the wood slats and bands of black metal. It has 4 sturdy hinges on the back that hold the lid securely to the bottom and there's a working Corbin lock marked 6 STwith a matching Corbin key. The trunk is complete with its original two compartment covered tray and the lids each have small leather tabs on them that snap closed. One of the lids is cracked toward the back as seen in the photo. The initials D.M.P. have been stamped in black on each side of the trunk. The trunk measures approximately 33" long X 21" wide X 23" high and the size is nearly perfect for use as a coffee table. On the bottom of the trunk are 4 small wheels that make the trunk easy to move ... morearound on any hard flat surface. Usually the black metal on the underside of these old trunks is scratched and dented but the one on this trunk looks great! There are leather handles on the sides and they seem to be in very good condition which is also unusual, generally at least one, if not both, handles are missing. The inside of the trunk is paper lined and most folks like to remove the paper, sand down the interior and then seal the wood or line them with cedar. Both methods are very effective at removing any lingering musty old trunk odors. This trunk is fine enough to use'as is' but could just as easily be a worthy restoration project. No matter how you look at it you'll have lots of additional storage space and a piece of antique furniture that will soon become your very own family heirloom. This trunk weighs 56 lbs. unpacked and is considered oversized so it will more costly to ship. Shipping will be $60.00 via FEDEX GROUND HOME DELIVERY with tracking and insurance.
