Marked with the number G25. This key does not have a manufacturer's mark, but it looks like either an Eagle or Corbin or possibly Excelsior. It is stamped G25 on the key. The Key is 1 1/2" in length Has been stamped with G25 on one side. If you have a trunk or lock with G25 stamped on it this key is supposed to fit your lock. No promises just what I read. 1872 Civil War Chest with original padlock and key
Picked this up at an antique shop buried under items. Has the saltwater marks to prove to the auctioneer I took it to it was the real deal as well as the key and pad lock and blimped steel. This was one of the first chests made in the civil war made for officers to store personal items along with booze in it. It was estimated at 1200 to 3600$ All original besides cedar on the outside to hold the steel from blimping too much which told us it would be more towards the low end of that estimate. I am giving a steal of a deal before I lock something inside and lose the key and have to break into it and deplete the value.

It is Antique old British VR crown Cast Iron Bear type padlock. It is padlock made in Britain of Victorian era(1837-1901) 100 years or more ago. The silhouette of bear's face is attractive. This is a feature of the padlock made in Britain. There is a stamp of“crown" and“V.R" that shows Victorian era in the slide type key cover. VR" is abbreviation of"Victoria Regina" Regina" means the queen in Latin. It is strong. There is a sense of existence. I feel the technique of a very wonderful craftsman. The state is very good though there is a little aged deterioration. It recommends it as a decoration of the interior. Padlock does not lock.
