This is an antique leather jewelry salesman's steamer trunk with brass locks& fittings. There are 10 divided drawers lined in green velvet. Some of the drawers are missing part of the dividers. There are some tears in the exterior leather and a hole in the leather in the back. The case measures 13.5" wide. 21.75" tall and 8" deep. It weighs about 19 pounds. There is a bit of a musty smell. We have not checked to see if the combination lock is working as as we do not know the combination. The lock is"as is" Other then that it is in overall good condition. 2 SETS VINTAGE ICEBOX HARDWARE BRASS NICKEL PLATED 1800'S-1900'S NO RESERVE
This grouping is for 2 sets of different styled brass hardware which I believe is from old wooden iceboxes? One group consists of 4"shield" shaped hinges and two handles(missing catches) and next set consists of 4 ornate pierced hinges and two locking handles and latches. They all appear to have been originally nickel plated and the second set has remnants of white paint overlay. Some pieces show little of the nickel remaining. All have an aged and oxidized finish. First hinges measure approx. 4 in. long by approx. 2 1/8 in. wide while second ones are approx. 5 1/2 in. long by approx. 2 1/16 in. wide. Sells with no reserve.

Rare Antique Edme Goyard Paris Aine Horse Carriage Trunk Brass Hardware Signed
This is a very rare Goyard carriage trunk. But will need restoration as you can see. The top measures 33 5/8" x 9 1/2" The bottom measures 13" front to back, and the ht. is 10 3/4" The skin is canvas and is bubbling in places and separated at corners. There is damage to the right corner, looks like it got wet at one point) and the steel band has broken and is rusty. There are wooden slats on the inside cover and one of the slats is cracked in half but still in place. Most likely RailRoad, has old stickers from traveling from state to state but there hard to read do to being old, weathered and in poor condition. Has owners name painted on side of trunk and below name Cincinnati, Ohio. Inside has blue maker tag, most of the tag is missing. Trunk is in Fair to Good condition, trunk is solid with no wood rot, All the cast hardware is good, cast iron and brass lock, some of the cast iron hardware is ornate and of good quality for the time. Front latch locks have a midevil look. Missing one wheel but the caster that holds the wheel is good. Trunk has paint loss, scuffs and scratches, rips in material, rust ect. Antique Trunk Hardware Heavy Solid Brass Trunk Lock w/ Key by Hillebrand& Wolf. Lock plate measures 3 1/4 by 4 1/2. Hasp measures 3 3/4 by 3 3/4. This lock has a very rare locking mechanism. It is one of the few trunk locks that will lock without using the key. This is accomplished by a spring loaded locking pin. However. Whats more unusual than that, is what can be called a safety latch. Inserting the hasp into the lock, locks the trunk, but you can use the key to turn the latch even more, which is a secondary locking position. This made it harder for thieves to pick the lock. The brass hardware is all present and has not been highly polished, to preserve the aged patina. It could be polished if desired. The leather trim, corners, and handles are intact with typical signs of wear. The leather has all been treated with professional leather treatment polish. It is hard to find ornate trunk handles of this style that are still intact. The trunk is a great size for use as a table if desired. Condition notes: This trunk is in very good used condition. But there are signs of age and use which are typical for a trunk of 100 years or more in age. There are some minor issues I want to describe. The top of the trunk has a couple splits or cracks in the canvas, which are not visible from all angles. The cracks are filled and glued and are not very large or very noticeable. In any case for something, someone very fine. The hand-engraved monogramed brass plate in the center of the lid is hand engraved with a gorgeous"K" with the dates 1877& 1902. Not sure exactly what that might indicate about this chest. Certainly its all gorgeous. The quarter-sawn Tiger Oak is spectacular. The brass corners appear to me custom or handmade. It's all beautifully put together with lapped rebated joints& inlaid walnut splines inside. This combination of the old solid brass hardware. Clean lines and quartersawn golden-oak give this chest an Arts& Crafts feel. It's a perfect height for a coffee-table or end-table. Condition of this chest is ... morefine to very fine. To my eye. Age-related character marks seem appropriate. The bottom looks like it may have at some point been replaced with laminated plywood, but it looks to be a clean job, all recessed underneath so as not to be visible at all. Might be a screw lost here or there, but nothing problematic that I see, and similar brass screws are available if desired. We've cleaned this piece carefully and rubbed it with fine wax to protect. Measures about 18" high. 28" wide& 20-1/4" deep. Notes/Observations: See Photos. Grand old trunk. From the research I have done and the travel labels that are on the trunk. I would say this is c1920s and saw a lot of action on American railways. This is a Flat Top trunk. Which makes it particularly good for use as a coffee table. This trunk has Wooden(oak) Slats. Which now have a rich patina from years of use. The lock is open and appears to be functional. But we don't have the key. The edges of the trunk are leather tacked into the wood. There is one area where the leather has split. Some additional tacks will handle this. The exterior surface of the trunk is fabric over wooden construction. The fabric is holding up very well. No fraying or missing pieces, The corners and some of the edges are metal bound. The metal has a nice dark patina. The leather handles on the ends are split. ... moreNew leather is needed there. If you restore this trunk. Then I hope you get a leather worker to make new straps(which would look great) Bottom of the trunk has wood slats over metal sheets. Inside. The fabric covering is in bad shape. The interior does not smell musty, Nice trunk. And a good item to start with if you are looking for a restoration project. Also good and usable the way it is if you like an unrestored look. Overall size: 32 3/4" wide x 20" deep x 12-3/4" high One of the wood slats is in need of repair. One of a kind walnut slat covered trunk. In the style of the original Excelsior patent 1868 trunks! Size: 24" wide. 21 1/2" tall, 17" deep. Custom made antique style Victorian wood slat trunk. Made from solid walnut and cypress lining with antique hardware and working brass Eagle lock with key. Great for so many uses including coffee table. Bedroom storage, retirement or graduation chest, sea captain style chest for your yacht, etc. This is a rare flat top trunk style with an"octagon top" or beveled corners. Hand built by master craftsman John Head, this slat trunk is truly a one-of-a-kind trunk, and only ONE exists like this! Patterned after the rare original Excelsior slat trunks patented in 1868, John uses all authentic antique trunk hardware items and locks, plus hand cut wood slats, to skillfully produce a masterpiece ... morethat rivals the Victorian era high grade trunks.
