This millstone is originally from a farm located in Rockport. WV. It is made of sandstone that is known to be over 150 years old. It is 30 inches in diameter and 14 inches thick. The center of this millstone is a square hole with 5.25 inch sides. This stone is valued at $2500 and $3000. This would be a great for landscaping and area beautification! ANTIQUE BRICKS FROM NEW YORK CITY
These bricks came from 47& 49 Third Avenue in New York City. The buildings were built circa 1838 and were demolished in 2001. The site was a continuously operating apothecary and pharmacy and later a medical laboratory. It operated on this site for 157 years. These bricks were from the original earlier portions of the site. I personally removed these and later era bricks from the demolition site as the building was coming down. Having worked at the site for 36 years. I saved them as momentos. It would be great if they could get a good home to aficionados of construction materials. Otherwise in good order. Measures: about 5 3/4 inches tall( including bail) and about 3 1/2 inches wide at the base. Remove the cap. And drizzle a bit of syrup or sweet fruit juice(apple juice works really nicely) down the inside wall to partially fill the small well at the base of the trap. Put the cap back on. Hang it nearby where you want to have a pest-free zone. The pests will be attracted by the sweet stuff, and they fly up into the trap but they don't fly out(as long as you leave the lid on) because the interior of the trap confuses them. Since the original was sold many years ago I used my photos as a visual reference to hand sculpt my version in a new clay model in 3 sections. This auction is for the CENTER fragment section shown only. Some 30 hours were spent directly sculpting the models in clay. And another 10 or so hours of additional cleanup, detailing and refining went into recreating my version of the entire panel. A number of my clients are amazed at these sculptures and those in the South usually say their area building have nothing like these. So I thought a little history would be of interest and add interest; The period spanning circa 1880 to about 1901 saw a rapid growth and amazing rates of construction of new inexpensive to build walk-up tenement apartment buildings in New York City. The finial hook screws into the ceiling and you hang the chain off that. The white blown glass bulb fits in with three screw fixtures to seal it closed in place. So there are minor signs of wear only when dismantled on the rim where it seals shut as shown in the photos. Inside you can see that the brass is shiny, but the outer side has a dulled unpolished industrial effect that could probably polish up well if you wanted, although I have not tried this myself. This is a reluctant sale as I am selling this due to hard times and consequent move. It realy is a phenomenal item and part of British locomotive history. I just rolled this one out of the barn! It is a on the front axle it says. John Deer Wagon Co. On the rear Axle it says" John Deere" and has the picture of the jumping buck, and" Moline Ill. below it. The box has been painted over, but the running gear all looks to have the original paint. On the underside of the right side of the tongue is stamped what looks like" Canby" and there is more, but I can't make it out. All the wood is sound, on the box, the running gear, including all the spokes and rims. No rot or Punky" wood. This will be a beautiful addition for a landscape feature. Or a business theme. You are bidding on a green. Charming antique metal wagon in beautiful condition that measures 14.25" long and 7" wide. This green wagon has an 18" wooden handle and 5.5" diameter metal wheels. This wagon has been in our family since I was a little girl visiting my grandmother's house. She was a very well-known collector of antiques and toys back in her day 30 years ago.
