I don't know allot about this wood mold. I know that it was used in a family furnature builing factory that closed many years ago in Chicago IL. With my lack of knowledge. You could be getting a very good deal. This piece has a very fine carving on it. It is 19.5" long, 2" wide and 3.5" across. The carvings measure 12X1" It weighs about 2 lb 10.5 oz. It has a beautiful old painting of pink roses from a yard long of roses print by C1900 French floral artist Paul De Longpre. The painting is old and faded from age. And there is significant overall wear to the piece, but it is a great decorative piece, perfect for romantic cottage decor. The wood is strong and stablem and though there is the obvious wear, this is nice and clean. The roses painting is on finely woven bamboo, and resembles the English bamboo construction done at the turn of the century through the first part of the 1900's. A beautiful old piece! Terracotta Serpent Gargoyle Head from Times Square Building
Authentic terracotta architectural element shaped as serpent. Dragon, gargoyle or victorian dolphin. This was removed from the Candler building in NYC during a restoration project. The terracotta on the high floors had become unstable from years of exposure to the elements. The building is still standing and some of the elements on the back side are still present. You can read about the intersting history of the building on the Internet. The Candler building can be seen in the original Superman movie. Superman flies around the building and these heads can been seen if you know where to look. The original design on the building featured two heads back to back. Photo number 8 is the best we could get from the ground. The design did repeat but there were several variants of the heads. This one has an extended tongue and visible teeth. This is ... morebig. 36" wide at longest point. 9" max depth. Use the soda can in the photo for scale. Has not been weighed yet. This has not been cut. There is a shaped joint at the neck where the maker's marks are stamped. The original steel tie is attached. Please look at the photos carefully to see the condition. There are chips on the nose and eyebrow and a chunk missing at the brow. There is a nice patina from pollution staining. There are stress cracks in the peice. Presumably from freezing and thawing, but it is stable. We removed about 50 pounds of concrete(not the typical motar) from the back. Trapped water likely froze and caused all the problems. The winged lion was a popular motif,and this particular one has obvious religious connections to Saint Mark by the halo and scrolled banner. Terracotta Angel Architectural Salvage
Terracotta building element salvaged from St. Boniface in Chicago. Central angel or child's face with wings on either side. Excellent condition with only one small chip in one curl of the hair. Super crisp features on this one that are difficult to find intact. Some remaining mortar that can be removed. Excellent patina from Chicago smog. Easily displays on a shelf or mantel as it will sit flat and overhang. Dimensions are approximate: 23" wide. 12" deep, wings are 8" across(each) and the face is 10" long. Huge Victorian Blacksmiths Forge bellows, Industrial, Steampunk, Elm Wood, Prop
These would look stunning in an industrial interior. Perhaps convert to a coffee table or just create a great talking point. Also ideal as a prop for a film set or how about a fantastic steampunk project? They definately have a Jules Verne look about them! Removed from a blacksmiths shop these antique bellows are in remarkable condition for an item of this nature and age. Very rare to find one of these where the leather isn't in tatters. There are one or two small holes and some rubbing but really very good considering(more detailed photos to come) The woodwork. Which I'm fairly sure is elm is very sound and secure, a few isolated worm holes but probably long dead and I've treated it anyway for good measure. The wood has been scraped and sanded to reveal a nice grain and then finished with high quality Osmo oil. Most of the studs, ... morewhich I think could be made of lead? are in place and secure. There is as you can see some heat damage to the nozzle tip but all the metal surrounding is rock solid. It'd be fairly straight forward to weld a new cone tip on if you so wished. They do actually work as intended. at least in the fact they project a good volume of air when squeezed. I was told they where originally suspended from the ceiling and operated by a long pull down lever. Which is included(photo later) Haven't got the exact sizes to hand at the moment but will update later. I'd say approx 6ft+ overall length. Obviously very heavy and will take 2-3 people to lift. I managed to transport them on a car roof rack quite easily though. I THINK I CAN DO A COURIER DELIVERY FOR AROUND £60 TO MAIN AREAS OF UK BUT PLEASE CHECK FIRST. When history and architectural detail really matter.Solid Rosso Levanto Marble scroll legs. C. 1930. Reclaimed from an update of the Metropolitan Atlanta, GA City Hall constructed in 1930. Two radius console legs, 3 1/2" thick x 31 1/4" tall that taper from a 3 1/2" depth at the bottom to a 10 3/4" depth at top. There is a design detail down the front of these legs consisting of two coves that border a center reverse core. These two marble legs supported a glass-topped table console just off the lobby. The legs are solid marble and weigh 83 lbs. each.
