Highly Ornate wrought iron stair railing & balcony railing from late 1800's
This is very rare ornate wrought iron stair railing from the grand lobby of the Sterling hotel. There are floral and spiral leaf details that are rarely found in American iron anymore. This hotel was frequented by Coal barons and other prosperous merchants of the time. It was even visited in the early 1900's by Eleanore Roosevelt. The lobby was stunning. And this railing graced the grand lobby stair case on the first and ball room floors. The first two pictures show the iron as pictured in the hotel before it was taken out. The following pictures show pieces after uninstalling to show their condition. The last several pictures show a few sample pieces of both the stair and balcony railing that we had sandblasted to show you the quality and condition which is excellent!
