I purchased these from an antique dealer in Carmel several years ago. Who had lived in Bali and Indonesia and had these shipped over many years ago. They stand stand 17" 17.5" tall(one a tad bigger than other) Including a 2" thick top, approximately 50" in circumference, measured around the middle. Base is about 3" thick and measures about 14" with octagonal corners. Top measures 19"x 20" for one, other is 18.5"x 19" These are beyond fabulous for tables! They are so heavy and solid. I would guess they weigh at least 100 pounds plus, or more. Original paint, pinks, yellows, greens, more, all deeply carved with the ancanthus leaves, portion of a face in one. Symbolic I am sure, but I only know that they are antique, solid hand carved, with beautifully weathered old natural rustic paint. They are carved all the way around. I cannot hardly move to photo! Beyond shabby chic! Fabulous patina! The natural wear of salvage but that is their beauty! One side on each has a crack that doesn't go through that only adds to the patina. Please see photo of the only one to me, of any consequence, does mot interfere with use. Usually when found they are all cracked from weather but these still retain their artistic solid qualities! OUTSTANDING LOOKING VINTAGE ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE/ARTIFACT- GOTHIC STYLE OAK WALL DIVIDER/DISPLAY/DECOR. THIS ITEM WAS RESCUED FROM AN EARLY 1980'S DEMOLITION OF A RECTORY LOCATED IN THE UKRAINIAN VILLAGE/ WICKER PARK AREA ON THE WEST SIDE OF CHICAGO. WONDERFUL ORIGINAL OAK FINISH! THIS EXAMPLE HAS A FINIAL/POST LOCATED ON ONE END OF THE ITEM WITH A SINGLE PANEL SECTION ON ONE SIDE OF THE FINIAL/POST. THE PANEL HAS TWO GREAT LOOKING RELIEF CARVED GOTHIC ARCHES. THE BACK SIDE OF THE PIECE IS PLAIN BECAUSE IT WAS MOUNTED TO THE WALL. AT THE END OF THE PANEL THE TOP EDGE IS CUT OUT SO THAT ANOTHER SECTION WITH A FINIAL/POST WILL EASILY ATTACH. ON THE POST END ANOTHER SECTION/PANEL WILL EASILY ATTACH. THE BOTTOM EDGE WAS SET INTO THE FLOOR. THUS THE BOTTOM 1 INCH OF THE EDGE IS UNFINISHED. Description This is a great set that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. They were originally fireplace mantel breasts. Both are made of walnut and are painted. They are similar but not exactly the same. There are thick applied carvings on both. The brown one measures 35.75 long by 11 tall. The white is 42 by 10 with the lower damaged section removed. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning but should clean up nicely. The white panel has a chip with some loss at the bottom corner. Also showing seam where 2 backer boards are joined. Please look at the pictures carefully. This came out of the rafters of an old whistle bottle factory. This spells out merry Christmas and was set outside. These letters are all wooden and hand cut. Painted red original.
