ANTIQUE VICTORIAN DECORATIVE CAST IRON SHELF SINK BRACKET PAIR AESTHETIC 11"X15"
A pair of late Victorian decorative cast iron brackets. 14 3/4" high, 11" length from wall. The decorative element reminds me of the type of"gingerbread" that you see on Aesthetic period bamboo furniture. The iron looks like steam-bent wood or bamboo that has been lashed in place with rattan. The surface is so crusty with old paint coats that I'm sure that more detail and maybe even a foundry name would be revealed when these are stripped. They have single mounting holes at the bottom and double mounting holes at the top. One mounting hole is broken off of one bracket but you are still left with sufficient holes to mount it securely. But please make up your own mind about this. It would have originaly hung on the end of a thick ornate bell pull. The type you see in the drawing rooms of very grand country houses. You can picture it hanging in the corner of one of those really over the top baroque rooms full of huge paintings and gilded furniture! The pinecone terminal measures approx 8 inches(200mm) tall and is made from glazed china and brass. It is in in good condition with two damaged buds on the pinecone( see photos. This traditional bell ringing wheel is certainly a rare find these days. With a groove on the outside. The rope would fit in this space for ringing.In fact while searching the internet for a similar item I can across two, both in England with very high price tags, selling for about $350.00 US dollars. This wheel came from a local church that will be torn down soon. The church stands on the same road that General Lee used to retreat from the Gettysburg Campaign. I've been told it is at least 150 years old. This piece measures approximately 52" in diameter and has layers of wood joined by nails. In very good condition I only notice one small wedge of wood missing. Please look at all photos carefully and use the close-up zoom for best look. Because of size this will be local pick-up only. But we're cleaning out the shop and need to let some things go. This lot is for four beautiful big& chunky cast iron casters. 2 swivel and 2 don't. They are marked Service Casters& Truck Co, The plates are about 6" by 6 1/2" They are about 8 1/4" from wheel to plate at the wheels themselves are 6" and 2" wide. They are at least 12-14 pounds each. One of them has a slight nick on the topside of the plate(3/4" or so) where it was grazed when getting cut off the machine. It really doesn't affect anything but wanted to make sure it is noted. There are no cracks or big bends that we can see. ARCHITECTURAL KEYSTONE FROM JOHN JACOB ASTOR ESTATE, CHETWOOD, NEWPORT,R.I.
This is a keystone belonging to a window from the former John Jacob Astor VI'Chetwood' Estate in Newport Rhode Island. J.J. Astor was the unborn Titanic survivor. And member of the Astor family. He was born four months after his father, Colonel John Jacob IV, died in the sinking of RMS Titanic. The house was originally designed by the great Philadelphia architect Horace Trumbauer in 1900, for William Wells. The piece is currently mounted on a steel stand.

This is used to measure the weight of things by holding it and hooking the thing you want to weigh on the hook. The spring is a little hard to pull but I believe weighs things quite accurately. There is no rust on the front and a very small amount on the back. The front could be polished and would shine very nicely.

AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE "SLAVE HAND- MADE" SAVANNAH GREY 1/2 BRICK FROM SAVANNAH, GA.
You are looking at an authentic antique(early 1800's) Savannah Grey 1/2 brick which was hand made by slaves. I moved to Savannah. Ga. about 20 years ago and worked in the masonry trade for a while and became familiar with the Savannah Grey brick and it's history. In 1815 Henry McAlpin purchased the Hermitage Plantation and in 1819 he built a brick manufacturing plant in which the bricks at that time were made by hand, by slaves. They are larger than your normal brick, reddish brown in color and do not have straight crisp edges, mostly rounded and warped. Many of the old buildings and homes still standing in Savannah today were built with Savannah Greys. They are a very cool, heavy duty(this 1/2 brick weighs close to 3.5 lbs) brick and becoming harder and harder to find. This 1/2 brick measures about 5" x 4" x 3"

The company was out of business, I believe, by the time I moved here about 40 years ago, and the bricks are hard to find nowadays and most collectible. It has a hole where the column was once attached. The top oak section is modern. Made in multiple sections and then boldly carved, it was part of a full size Corinthian column, probably from the early 1800s, but dating is quite difficult, but the meagre traces of gold leaf suggests to us that it is indeed very old. The back edge is plain where it was intended to sit flush against a wall. Vintage Large Wooden Set of Fireside Bellows
I am selling this nice old vintage set of late Victorian to early Edwardian bellows. They are bigger than most you see advertised. They measure 22 3/4 inches long. A maximum of 10 3/4 inches wide and weigh 1.7 kilos. The condition is fair; they are structurally sound but will need some repair to the leather. Where there are holes and splits. They would be a super addition to any collection. An excellent display or practical piece, or authentic period prop. Please feel free to ask any questions. Description Here is a VERY HEAVY bronze antique bell complete with the iron clanger clapper.and it has a lovely ring to it as well. It has no name but I was emailed by a bell collector and he told me this is a bell by the WHITECHAPEL BELL FOUNDRY which belonged to the MEARS family. it does have the date 1820 near the top between the rings. the date is of old font.anyone into date styles will easy be able to see the 2 is the right period. and be assured this is a period bell and not a modern forgery crappy thing. its the real deal. The iron clapper is hand forged by the look of it.rusty ... moreof course as its been outside somewhere. It could be from a CHURCH- CHAPEL- SHIP- SCHOOL who knows.but it will work and would make a very nice architectural antique at your house or museum. It is 12 inch tall x 11inch base dia and the bronze is about 3/4- 1 inch deep.it weighs FAR TOO MUCH for me to weigh on my scales. its very heavy.it weighs 18 KILOS. Buyers can arrange for their own courier to pick it up from me. small piece of Gothic Pitchpine pulpit front,with Quatrefoil church tracery
This is a very small and tatty leftover piece from my garden folly project.it was all quite a mess on the back but if you can see past that. Then carry on reading,as it still could be of use to someone with the skill to use it. It is made of Pitch Pine and has more or less HALF a Quatrefoil design the measurements are 13.5 inches in length.and 6.5 inches in width. and it is a nice chunky 2.5 inches thick there are many woodworm holes on the front.Which I have filled with wood filler. the wood is very stable on the front. There is woodworm damage on the back and rot on the back too.And the wood is very soft and flaky in some spots. When I first acquired this piece it was much longer.and had four complete Quatrefoils along its length.but I only needed to use one of them.see my other listings for those pieces) I was also told it had been treated ... morebut I cant say for sure if it genuinely was.so it would be in your interest to treat it.If you are thinking of using it for an inside project.or having it lying around for a while. I am building a garden folly and the piece I removed.I used to take a mould. and used it to make reconstituted Stone blocks and windows,with the single Quatrefoil design.ready made recon stone quatrefoil windows are very expensive to buy,so I have saved a load of money by making my own. You could use it for a similar project.And by selling this small piece gives yet another person the chance to do something similar with it.and I would suggest that if you molded this half you could make two halves out of plaster/concrete etc. and join them together to make a whole one. The third picture shows an example of how the finished item could look.there is lots of scope for this little piece. I accept Paypal for it to be posted. or buyer can pay on collection.
