I don't know allot about this wood mold. I know that it was used in a family furnature builing factory that closed many years ago in Chicago IL. With my lack of knowledge. Up for consideration is a salvaged laundry chute door with its trim. The nails are still in it(they have been bent down) and will remain incase you decide to cut them off or pull them out. I did not want to damage the trim. It was purchased at an estate sale in WV. The piece measures 22" by 17.5" on the outside of the trim. The little door measures 14.5" by 10.25" This would make a fabulous little cabinet if you decided to frame it out. ARCHITECTURAL ANTIQUE : CARVED OAK TRIM FRAGMENT
HAND CARVED OAK TRIM FRAGMENT: Very nicely carved section of oak casing trim. The oak has the darkened original varnish/stain finish at one end of the piece. And a cleaned medium oak finish at the other end. This was done to illustrate the darkened state of finish that the piece was found in, and to contrast it with a more natural finish. The thick piece of oak has been hand carved in an acanthus leaf design, with a ball and reed bottom banding. Each end has a 45 degree mitered cut. The oak trim has been mounted on a hand carved white marble fragment with a carved acanthus leaf relief. The combination of the marble base and oak trim resulted in an interesting composition of hand carved architectural art. The oak casing trim is 21 3/4" long x 4 1/2" high x 2 1/4" thick. Solid Wood Decorative Trim Molding Lot of 4 Pieces - Neat Architectural Salvage!
Up for sale is a great lot of 4 vintage pieces of wood decorative trim or molding. I'm not exactly sure what this was used for. But it was salvaged from an old estate in the Cincinnati area. It is solid wood with what appears to be some sort of lacquer on it. The motif looks floral, perhaps a tulip? In terms of condition. I would consider these to be good to very good. A few pieces have some minor cracking, but nothing that goes all the way through or causes them to be falling apart. Each piece is numbered on the back. And these 4 go in order, so they are fairly evenly matched. Each piece is roughly 6.5 inches long. 2.5 inches tall, and 0.75 inches deep at the base. Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia. PA Victorian Home. They are made of oak and are painted. They were originally part of a set of doors that were beyond repair so we removed the decorative elements. There are several quatrafoil panels. We also have moldings that form a Gothic arcade. The squares are 7.75 inches square. It is approx 9 feet of Gothic arches by 7.5 feet tall. Overall. It is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There are some missing moldings and various breaks. The Gothic arches are molding pieces without any backing boards.
