Pair of Vintage exterior fanned pediment architectural salvage
Here are a couple of Vintage fanned pediments that could be used for exterior decor above doors or for any creative idea. They each measure roughly 70" long by 20" tall by 3" thick. They are in decent shape except for a couple of cracks(picture 7) These are easily repaired and then with a couple coats of fresh paint they are gone. The chips are on the back of one of them(pictures 5&6) and should not affect them as your casings. Mouldings and siding will hide them. Please review pics carefully and if you have any questions, let me know. The last picture shows where there was a light fixture. These are sold as a set. It is all hand wrought. Pinned and riveted. The fence has a nice overall pitted& rusty patina but is not rotted through. Vintage Original School Home Building Construction Model House Indiana Folk Art I am still listing new items from Indiana. And have a boatload of new things from the flea market too. Lots of primitive antiques, farm finds, folk art, and the usual wacky Maureen stuff- you don’t want to miss this week! I guarantee you won't find another one like this on ebay- or anywhere else for that matter- it's a one of a kind hand made oldee! I stopped at a sale in a very rural area in central Indiana and stumbled upon this beauty. The man that owned it told me that it had been used in the boys construction class at their local high school- it was a teacher built model. Used as a demonstration of the"guts" for lack of a better word of the construction of a home. Isn't it cool? At first, I thought it was a bird house- like a purple ... moremartin house or something like that- but then I realized no, it was different- no bird holes or front doors, and purposely exposed sides so that you can see the parts of the inside of the house. It appears as if all real materials were used- except for the chimney, which is carved wood, not brick, and there's some type of partical board under the roofing shingles- see photo 6, and there's a holed bead type board under the pitch of the roof- see photo 8. The rest is wood, and even faux wood(I think it's like a linoleum type? for the floor inside one space of the house. I can only put 24 photos in my listings- and I could have used 124 on this one- it will keep you looking for a long time. The house measures 18 1/2" tall to the top of the pitch of the roof, 22 1/2" tall to the top of the chimney. At the bottom of the roof, it measures 14" by 17 1/2. At the body of the house, it measures 15 1/2" by 10 3/4. It weighs a hefty 17 lbs and has its original grey painted finish that is rustic and worn. A Pair of original art nouveau brass & copper plated door finger plates
Two original art nouveau pressed metal door finger plates they are 10.5" long and just over 2.75" wide the fixing holes are 9.5" and 1.75" apart there is some pitting to the plate but they are still in good usable condition we have left these unpolished as they have a lovely patina that has built up over time however. It has made it a little difficult to see what metal they are. They are definately pressed metal/tin not solid copper or brass. two original art nouveau brass plated door finger plates they are 10 1/2 inches long and just over 2.75" wide the fixing holes are 9.5" and 1.75" apart there is some pitting to the plate on each door plate one at the top and one at the bottom however. they are still both perfectly usable we have left these unpolished as they have a lovely patina that has built up over time. However. It has made it a little difficult to see what metal they are. They are definately pressed metal/tin not solid copper or brass. This brick was made sometime in the very early 1900's. Our brick is marked"Portsmouth Granite Block" on the front. The word Portsmouth is barely visible. I guess it wasn't struck just right when it was made. Brick just has 1 line going across the back. Brick is kind of odd shaped too. The paneling is tiger oak and is done with craftsmanship that is not seen anymore! The ornate crown molding is gesso over wood. It is done so well that it truly looks like carved wood.
