70' wooden antique stair railing and 89 spindles
Removing stairway and hallway banisters and balusters from old house circa 1850. Total of aprx. 70' of banister and 89 balusters. The original banister started on the second floor attic door with an arc then runs the length of the hallway arcs again to run down the stairwell arcs again to run down the first floor hallway arcs again to run down the basement stairwell. The original banister was cut at the bottom of the stairwell and a Newel post was inserted to finish the run then cut or detached again at the arc where the basement stairwell run started. I believe this railing to be over 150 years old and I was told it is cherry wood but I am not positive of they type of wood but it is beautiful. The 70' of railing and the 89 balusters are in very good condition. Art deco faces. These look like they could have been used for architectural detailing on the exterior of a building facade. There are holes drilled on the bottom of the faces that suggest they were perhaps used above a doorway attached to the molding. They do not stand up on their own as they are front heavy and fall forward, but may be able to be used as bookends if fin-angled properly. Antique Pressed Brick- LAPBCo Los Angeles, Old Gold Face Brick
Here is a nice antique pressed face brick originating from the Los Angeles Pressed Brick Company. Circa late 1800s. The brick is pressed with LAPBCo, and has dark flecks throughout that were purposely added during the production process to create a certain style known as dark Old Gold. There is a nice history of the company and bricks on the calbricks site(just do a Google search for"Los Angeles Pressed Brick" This particular example was interesting recently excavated in western Oregon near Portland. It measures 8.25" wide, 4 inches tall, and a but under 2.5 inches deep. There are some rust stains from being buried, and some damage to the front top left, back top right, and bottom front right corners. I purchased these years ago for a project that never came to frution. Now they can be YOURS! The photos do NOT do them justice! Original photos have the Black background. Newer photos have the off white and Blue background. The coloring and patina are best demonstrated in the front view of photo#5. It is a deep brown, and not as red as the flash photos suggest. These were originally meant as Fireplace mantle accents. There is a STATELY flowing design to the pieces. And the KING-like or Norseman figure is mythologically portrayed with a Lion’s head. Here is an antique cast iron roof ornament called a snow bird. These snow birds were attached to the roof and prevented the snow from sliding off the roof and falling on people or objects below. Now some people hang them on the wall as a little shelf. The part that would act as the shelf is about 5 3/4 by 2 5/8 inches. The overall length of the entire piece is 9 1/2 inches. Antique Decorative Stamped Tin tiles roof panels from the mid 1800's
These are Antique Decorative Stamped Tin Metal Roof Panels from the late 1800s to early 1900s in Victorian style. 5 per order. They are from an historic home in Columbus GA. I have about 1000. They are all similar to the ones shown. Most have gothic arch design but some have interesting arrow design. Great for design projects. Interior decorating, art/craft projects or to tile an antique roof. Each tile is 14" x 9.5" they can be interlocked as shown in some of the pictures. One side of the tile is nice and shiny and the other has varied degrees of century old antique rust. I am selling five for $20. Price can be modified according to quantity. Measures about 9 1/2" long with a swivel piece on one end and other end reminds me of a church key of sorts; has a cutout design that looks like a gothic style cross. Provenance: According to the vendor these were salvaged from a Georgian Country House in Southern Ireland after the fire surround. Vintage Reeves Ash/Coal Bucket-Galvanized Steel Back Handle Intact Rare Antique
Amazingly good condition galvanized steel ash or coal bucket. Bear in mind that this item does have some rust issues but that certainly adds to the rustic look of this great collectible piece. Bucket has a top opening that measures 16 1/2" x 13" and is 10 1/2" tall at highest point and 9 1/4" at lowest height point. Bucket has slightly wider base than bottom of bucket. Carrying handle is intact and in great condition. The nice thing about this particular coal bucket is that it still has the back end handle still in place.
